reset, recharge, rewind!! ⊹˚. ♡
──★ ˙ ̟🎀 reasons we need recharge days
reduced likelihood of future mental health crises
improves your mental, physical, and overall health
to avoid burnouts
feel more empowered, capable, resilient and able to bounce back from hardships
boosts your productivity and overall executive function
more hours worked ≠ productivity !!!
the same as our physical bodies need rest and recovery by sleep, our mental states need rest and recovery too sometimes. the healthiest and most successful people are the ones who take the time to care for themselves first. you should always always always be your top priority, no matter what happens. <3
you cannot pour from an empty cup. you cannot burn if you've dwindled down the flame. you cannot be a pearl if there is no oyster.
──★ ˙ ̟🎀 when is it time for a mental health day and to take the time to recharge?
when you feel yourself in a repeated pattern of irritability or negative emotions in your school or workplace
when you find yourself more unable to focus and distracted more easily
when you are seriously lacking sleep
when you find yourself falling back into old habits
reset days sound great in theory, but how exactly does one execute them in a way that leaves them feeling refreshed and recharged for the future?
🧸𓂃 ࣪˖ 1. what leaves you energised?
if you haven't already made one, i'd highly recommend making a list of things that make you happy, have a good day, energised, relaxed, refreshed, etc, and a list of things that do the opposite. this is then so you can figure out what does and doesn't make you happy, give you energy, and so on, and figure out what to indulge in and what to avoid to keep yourself not burnt out and working harder for longer instead of overworking yourself.
🧸𓂃 ࣪˖ 2. detox!
detoxing from everything is a perfect thing to do on a recharge day. whenever i detox i feel like a brand new girl and so clean and fresh, and i have a post on this here 🫶💗 even if you aren't feeling particularly down or if nothing has happened and you just decide to take a random recharge day to boost your energy, detoxing and pampering urself is always always always the way to go! <3
🧸𓂃 ࣪˖ 3. journal, obviously
as the no.1 girl journalling advocate of course i had to put this in here. i have a whole pinterest board full of these for when i need them and have specific prompts for specific emotions (should i make a post on this?) and it helps me so much. think of it like you're having an interview with yourself and a look into your own emotions so that you can get to know yourself and your circumstances better for future reference, too.
🧸𓂃 ࣪˖ 4. errands
as much as i hate to admit and as hard as it is, compiling a list of all the things that have been on your mind and that you've been procrastinating and getting them done in a time period throughout the day when you feel comfortable can be very helpful for lifting the metaphorical and emotional weight off of your shoulders. knowing you have time to just relax for a little while and that you've gotten everything you need to do done already is a massive relief for me and the feeling of utter refreshment that comes with having a clean slate with nothing nagging at you in the back of your mind is priceless.
🧸𓂃 ࣪˖ 5. detective work: analysis!
along with the journalling, if your recharge day was brought on by a series of negativity in your life, i think it especially helps to analyse the period of time leading up to said recharge day and think ab what made you feel like you need some time off to recharge. did anything happen, were there any events that could have triggered it, big or small, how you felt, and so on; write it all down or just lay and think about it quietly and think about how you can tackle it in future and come up with a way to deal with that. reset days are the perfect time to learn from ur mistakes and ensure that you can know what to do if and when they strike again in the future.
🧸𓂃 ࣪˖ 6. self-respect
most importantly, please respect the fact that you are only human and need ur rest. it's not your fault for getting overwhelmed or needing to take a day to rest. as long as you are doing the best you can, you're going exactly the pace you need to, and you are at the exact place you need to be, whether it feels like it or not. not constantly working does not mean you have failed, does not mean that you are weak, or anything like that. please take care of yourself and have enough self-respect to honour your own needs and emotions. you're doing amazing bae 💗✨
──★ ˙ ̟🎀 journal prompts:
๋࣭♡ has there been any possible events or recent situations that may have caused a mental health spiral?
๋࣭♡ do any of these events link back to an event that affected you in the past?
๋๋♡ what are some things you dislike right now in your life?
๋࣭♡ how do they make you feel and why?

Glow up with me ! ❣˚ ༘♡ ⋆。˚
brush your teeth & use a tongue scraper first thing in the morning
drink a full glass of water with a pinch of himalayan or sea salt and add a little bit of lemon. note: If you're gonna add lemon use a straw to avoid damaging your teeth
DIY milk face mask: cool trick to give your skin that instant glow. start off by simply pouring raw milk in an ice tray and allow it to freeze. take an ice cube, rub it on your skin for 3-4 minute. then gently massage your face, do this just before you sleep to wake up to a brighter and fresher face.
try hot & cold gel bead eye mask with collagen pearls: soothe your eyes by heating up (better sleep, decongests sinuses, better blood flow to eye area) or cooling down (soothes tired, reduces dark circles and under-eye puffiness) increasing blood circulation.
use a gua sha and a face roller, it is essential to choose a high-quality, cold-pressed oil, preferably organic. I recommend to use argan or jojoba oil.
buy a water filter !! once the impurities are removed from your tap water it’s much easier for you to achieve clear and vitalized skin
Give a little massage at the end of the day, your body will be grateful! Improves blood circulation while relaxes your stress levels. (I'll be posting soon different kind of massage, trigger points and ways to give yourself a massage more easiliy w objects)

positive & neutral recovery affirmations for summer
Hi, loves! I hope you're all doing well! Here are some affirmations for those of you that are going into summer!!
I included the last one for both in case there are those of you that just read one section. I wanted everyone to see it :)
You're all baddies!! Have a great summer and enjoy yourselves! ♡
Positive:
I don't need to get/have a "summer body", mine is perfect the way it is
I look good in summer clothes because my body is beautiful the way it is
I don't need to "fit into" the outfits I want to wear. I can wear (and rock) them as I am.
I look good in shorts/tank tops/skirts/dresses/short sleeves.
It's okay to feel beautiful/handsome/attractive
I can trust myself to nourish my body
I will nourish my body, despite the shorter clothes
I look good in a swimsuit
I can enjoy the fact that I like the way I look
Other people's beauty does not take away my own
I can be confident
I deserve to be confident
The people around me not eating does not mean I'm not allowed to eat. I can feed my body.
I will enjoy food this summer, despite the clothes/swimsuits
I am happier without my ed
My recovery body is a beautiful body
I am content with my recovery body
Having ed thoughts does not mean my recovery is weak. I can overcome them.
Engaging in ed behaviors will not make me any more confident, they'll only worsen my mental health and body image.
Eating more than someone else is okay, and I deserve to fuel my body.
Other people commenting negatively on my recovery/body/food intake is their issue, not mine.
Neutral:
I do not need to lose weight to get/have a "summer body"
Just because the people I see online/in person have a specific body type, it does not mean I have to have that body type.
Since it's summer (or almost), I now have a "summer body"
The shorts/skirts/dresses/short sleeves/tank tops are meant to fit me, I am not meant to fit into them
Despite the warm weather and shorter clothes, I still need to nourish my body
I do not need to engage in ed behaviors to "look good" in summer clothes (because you already do ♡)
I deserve to wear the clothes I want to wear
I deserve to feel good/content in the clothes I want to wear
If I can't feel good or content in those outfits, that's okay. My recovery is not weaker because of it.
If I can't be happy with what I see in the mirror yet, that's okay. (you will get there)
If I put a swimsuit on, I now have a "swimsuit body"
It's okay if I am not ready to wear a swimsuit
It's okay if I *am* ready to wear a swimsuit
Having ed thoughts during this time is not a failure
I can ask for help if I need it
I am allowed to ask for help if I need it
I am allowed to enjoy food even if the clothes are more revealing
I can enjoy food even if the clothes are more revealing
Eating more than someone else is not a bad thing
Eating something when others are not, is okay.
Other people commenting negatively on my recovery/body/food intake is their issue, not mine.

a green witch’s guide to keeping cool this summer 🧊
if you’re like me and the summer heat feels like hell on earth, you may want to create some cooling brews to keep you calm, cool, and collected this summer
there are a ton of herbs that have been used across cultures to cool down the body during the hot summer months
examples include:
lemongrass 🍋
chrysanthemum 🌸
lavender 🪻
spearmint 🌱
and many more
now be warned, online you may see other herbs like peppermint, chamomile, and lemon balm listed but these act as a diaphoretic, meaning they will induce sweating, and while sweating is the body’s way of cooling down, it is also a sensory nightmare for folks like myself so you may want to avoid these
instead you should give my signature lavender hibiscus lemonade a try 🌺🍋

"I don't think the ~autumn girlies~ understand how debilitating seasonal depression is 😮💨"
Me, an "autumn girlie" with summer seasonal depression: 😐😐😐😐😐
#non religion#mental health stuff#i dread seeing people talk about spring/summer shit the same way you dread people talking about fall#the vast majority of seasonal depression resources and tips and motivations are focused on winter SAD#SAD posts are “the days are getting longer now everyone we made it through the rough part💛”#i think I've only seen one encouragement post about getting through summer seasonal depression#we're hardly taken into consideration or taken seriously#like I'm sorry it sucks. but I'm not gonna complain about people's spring/summer posts like#“the ~spring/summer girlies~ obviously don't understand what seasonal depression is like”#sometimes things are just not for you on the internet!!!!!

PSA reminder that if you are using spray on suncreen, you still NEED to rub it in to make sure you got full coverage of any exposed areas of your skin!
You also need to reapply sunscreen every few hours, especially if you've been swimming or sweating a lot!
Use SPF 30 at bare minimum, but SPF 50 is a much better bet. It's also a good idea to check into the brand you're buying to make sure it's not one of the ones that have been caught lying about their SPF rating.
