Jewish people can be of any (yes ANY) race, age, gender, sexuality, and political alignment

different jews have different levels of observance (I for example am essentially flexitarian but with kosher & I don’t fast or attend services regularly but I do go to Hebrew school and I had my b’nai mitzvah) and their level of observance does not change their validity as Jews

Hebrew does not use the same alphabet as English and therefore there is no true English spelling of words like Hanukkah / Chanukah / Hanukah

we are not inherently sneaky / untrustworthy / greedy et cetera. some of us are. Duh. So are some Christians, and some Muslims, and some atheists.

anti sematism does happen. We feel unsafe in certain situations. We are unsafe in certain situations.

if you draw a swastika or several swastikas we will not just forget it because you laugh about it and erase it after and say ‘no hard feelings eh’ (fuck you Holden you know what you fucking did)

if you know someone is Jewish, don’t share that with people unless you have been told by said Jew that it’s okay. A lot of people don’t want everyone knowing.

googling major holidays and saying things like ‘Shana tova’ can really mean the world to Jews. We appreciate it more than you know.

A reminder to all my lovely fellow writers: progress is progress, even when it isn't. Writing four thousand words in a session is progress. Writing a hundred words in a session is progress. Removing an entire scene because it doesn't flow well is progress. Rethinking your plan for the plot in order to get unstuck is progress. Development looks different for every writer and every story.

Friendly reminder that you do not have to be on adventures and experience new things all the time. You might feel this pressure to do "cool" things every day just so you can tell other people what you did. But darling, you should live your life for yourself, not for the stories you might be able to tell. All you really need to do is be. Be in the moment. Be kind to yourself. Be there for yourself. Listen to your soul, listen to what it craves. Go on adventures and explore the world for the right reasons. Rest and recover when your body tells you to. I know that sometimes when you stand still, there can be a lot of uneasiness, because you think you have to go somewhere and do something amazing. But remember: It is absolutely okay to have days where all you do is breathe and take it easy. There is so much meaning in the slow days as well, my love.

Friendly reminder that Nico Di Angelo as a child, loved pirates and Greek mythology.

Imagine a 10 year old Nico getting excited that the Greek gods exist, then finding out that he gets to learn how to sword fight just like pirates do. (He was so excited he ended up cutting his leg resulting in a scar)
