The ultimate underrated HIIT Workout
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If there's one workout that doesn't get nearly enough love, it's jumping rope.
Seriously, it's the most underrated HIIT workout in women's fitness, and I'm here to give it the shoutout it deserves!
Every time I pick up that rope, I feel my body toning up with each skip—legs, core, arms, you name it. Not to mention, by the time I'm done, I'm practically buzzing with energy and happiness.
There's something about the rhythm of jumping to my 2016 dance playlist that just sparks pure joy.
I'm literally grinning as I jump, feeling more coordinated with every session. Plus, the benefits are endless: it boosts cardiovascular health, improves coordination, and burns a ton of calories in a short amount of time.
Honestly, if you're looking for a workout that leaves you feeling fit, fierce, and full of life, give jumping rope a try. And trust me, you'll want to do it with the playlist I'm sharing below, it's a total game-changer!

Day 3 of 5 day workout week:
It’s Hump Day and I woke up feeling rested today! A little too rested. I slept 20 minutes past my alarm! 🤦🏽‍♀️ Not the way I wanted to start today, but I must’ve really needed the rest. I got in 7.5 hours of sleep and it felt pretty damn good! Hopefully, I can make that a habit while still getting up on time.
I definitely noticed the difference in my morning energy level. Tonight I’m supposed to remove all electronics from the bedroom for the sleep challenge. Due to an ongoing health issue with my son in college, I have to keep my phone nearby. But, the other electronics are out.
-For today’s workout, I wanted to change the structure of my program again! I like mixing it up! Sometimes its duration. Sometimes it’s intensity. Other times it’s sequencing or load. Today, I switched up from a HIIT circuit back to separate workouts of functional strength training and a straight cardio HIIT. The strength portion was total body and used dumbbells (8-15 lbs) for upper and lower body and ankle weights (6lbs) for more targeted glute work on the mat. The cardio segment was a 30 minute HIIT. I got creative and added 3 minute bursts on my elliptical after every other interval! Fun but tough!
Total calorie burn = 416 kcal
Bonus: I ended my session with my 30 pushups (3 sets of 10)! Day 2 👉🏽🎁

I truly advocate for Pilates 💕 it’s low to medium intensity, and works the smaller muscles on the body so you won’t “bulk up” like when you do traditional exercises such as push-ups, or doing heavy weight lifting—which works the larger muscles. Pilates tends to “lean you out” more without bulking, and a lot of workouts can be done either sitting/standing without too much movement. It’s like the perfect medium. You use your own body weight, get a lean/tight body over time, less stress on joints, and you don’t have much of a risk for injury (versus other workouts like HIIT, cardio, or weightlifting). It’s like yoga to me 🧘🏾‍♀️

HIIT WORKOUT!
This workout burns 800 CALS! Do each set for 7:30 mins with maximum of 3, 10 second breaks during each one.
Technically it’s 15 reps for 30 seconds of each set but it’s easier to calculate it this way.
squats -7.30m
lunges -7.30m
Dumb bell presses -7.30m
Side-side-jumps -7.30m
Box jumps -7.30m
mountain climbers -7.30m
If you don’t have the equipment for dumb bell presses or box jumps do push ups for dumbbell presses and burpees for box jumps

3/15/24 PlyoJam/Strength intervals with stretch at and
I'm still alive, despite not posting. Been feeling very discouraged with lack of weight loss, despite doing everything "correctly". I haven't been walking this week cos of the lack of motivation, but have done MWFS PlyoJam classes. I know I need to get back to walking, but I just bad-moody about it right now.
Oh, my old Fitbit Versa died last Friday, so I got a new Sense 2. Been trying to get all the stuff set up on it the way I like, but overall I like it.

Just tried HIIT for the first time in forever (did a moderate workout too), and I feel sick as hell after it. Was definitely worth the burn though!
The workout I followed was from Emi Wong, I did her 16 minute one and it's amazing
