Really loved the healer's POV and how he views both Wei Wuxian and Wangxian's relationship. Just really cute. The second chapter is beautiful fanart and the story is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. Excerpt: Lan Ping doesn’t know the details, but the gist was that Wei Wuxian had taken a tumble down a hillside and landed poorly. He’d sprained his ankle, taken multiple contusions and lacerations, but the shoulder was most pressing. Someone had tried to reset it without success. It needed to be popped out and then popped back in again. The trauma of the fall alone must have been miserably painful. Then, add a failed reset. Lan Ping always tries to prepare his patients for having a joint reset. They typically yell and then cry. Lan Ping explained to Wei Wuxian that it will take two steps, twice the misfortune, in order to settle the joint correctly. Wei Wuxian merely nodded his assent. Each step must have been excruciating, but Wei Wuxian hadn’t given any sign of pain beyond gritting his teeth and wincing. He’d laughed when the arm had finally settled properly in the socket, reflexively testing it out. “Much better!” he’d said, flashing a smile. When Lan Ping tried to offer him pain relievers, he’d laughed at that too.

Mother's kiss

Hi, this idea I wanted to put out there. One I would be very happy to see it written if at all possible. My idea goes like this- at some point during the cloud releases study arc Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian end up working together on a night hunt. The hunt itself is simple as the just need to convince the ghost, a mother who died before she was able to give birth to move on. The problem is she stayed because she was worried her children wouldn't be able to reincarnate properly because they were never born. In convincing her to move on Wei Wuxian Unknowingly agrees to protect her child, allowing her to cast a very specific spell. One that if he takes in the essence (or dna) of another will result in pregnancy and certain necessary body modification. And this being mdzs him and Lan Wangji end up kissing accidentally and activating the spell. This is based on the idea that a person's golden core in given the time and enough information can make changes to the body, and while usually adding a completely new set of organs is some what impossible, this spell and or curse relys on the spiritual memory of the caster. Which would make it some what well know in the cultivation world at least by healers. And because it affects the golden core Wei Wuxian ends up collapsing a few hours after it's activation. In my mind the time it would take to properly make such changes would be 2-3 days, of which he would be absolutely exhausted and some what pained but not unconscious. It would also be a process the Healers could not interfere with with out risking qi deviation on his part. And of course Wei Wuxian be Wei Wuxian would what to keep the child even if he was offered another option, which is somewhat unlikely considering the Lan sect rules. As for Lan Wangji as soon as he realized what happened and what spell it was he seems like the type to try an take responsibility, especially since Wei Wuxian would be absolutely sure madame yu was going to either kill him or kick him out after this.

Lan Xichen was having a great morning, using wisely his day off. He has a pot of jasmine tea being quietly kept warm with his new electric mug heater Wangji gifted him last time they saw each other (hmm, it's really helpful and works well, maybe he should buy one for his office), and a book he's slowly finishing on his lap. He's sitting on his comfiest armchair, and a calming melody is playing in the background.

He just finished his third chapter when his phone started to ring on the coffee table. "Wangji", it says, so Lan Xichen was quickly to put his bookmark between the pages and pick his brother's call.

"Hello, Wangji?"

"Ah... Hi, Xichen-ge, it's actually me..." came the sheepish voice.

"Wei Wuxian? Did something happened?"

"Yeah.... Uh... Are you busy right now?"

Lan Xichen was getting more worried with each word "Not right now."

"Great! We came to the hospital because I wasn't feeling good and we find out I'm pregnant again." his voice got a bit louder at the end, happier "We're happy about it! But! Uh.... It's triplets. So. Lan Zhan may or may not have fainted in the ultrasound room and banged his head a little...?"

"What?" Lan Xichen immediately got up, looking around before walking quickly to his bedroom to change clothes.

"Ah! He's ok! The nurses worked quickly and he already did a x-ray and he doesn't have a concussion, but they don't want him to drive yet and to be honest, he's pretty much still in shock so not in shape to drive. So... Can you pick us up? I can pay-"

"Ah! Don't worry about it, just send me your location and I'll be there soon!" Lan Xichen interrupted his brother-in-law, already taking off his sweatpants "Where's A-Yuan?"

"Oh, he's actually in the kid room here, Qing-jie helped us today." Wei Wuxian laughed a bit "Damn... Triplets."

"Triplets." lan Xichen parroted.

"Anyway! I'm sending you our location! I just need to take some free medications the doctors told me and pick up A-Yuan. See you later, Xichen-ge!" and then he ended the call.

"Triplets!" Lan Xichen exclaimed, sitting on his bed in shock "No wonder Wangji fainted!"

Fic idea: Hualian went on a “short”(for an immortal) honeymoon trip where they took human forms and wandered around for a while. One mission forced Xie Lian to take a female form for whatever reason, and on that mission, Hualian end up meeting JFM and fucking around in lotus pier for a while. (Xie Lian stays in female form when around others to avoid suspicion, even if it makes him a bit uncomfortable. Hua Cheng is apologetic that he wasn’t the one caught as a girl since he wouldn’t really care.) Of course, once people start making Eyes at Xie Lian, Hua Cheng is like, NOPE, we are OUT, and drags them both out of there.

Hualian being hualian, Xie Lian ends up pregnant and gives birth to their little Xie Ying! He goes by Wei Ying around others though, a little joke Hua Cheng chose when they were asked for their names(Wei, as in character for ghost)

Anyway, Hualian being Hualian are so wrapped up in themselves when not caring for A-Ying that they forget to tell the other gods, having cut them off at the beginning of their honeymoon for the sake of privacy. And so, when they head out for a quick fight with a ghoul, leaving their A-Ying in an inn, no one is there to stop the ghoul from escaping once it steals their memories.

Hualian, minus the last five years of memories, head up to the heavens none the wise of the lost time and their forgotten child. No god wants to even BEGIN to ask for DETAILS about their honeymoon(Ew!) so it’s a long time before anyone notices anything wrong.

Idk this could be played really seriously and sad, for all the years they lost and all the pain their son went through…

Or…

Xie Lian and Hua Cheng can just storm Cloud Recesses and kidnap their child back…

No começo ficava perdido, mas foi entendendo junto a Wei Wing as melhores maneiras de agir e o confortar, uma delas era o levar para o ninho em seu quarto e ficarem lá abraços até se sentir melhor.

Foxxian e DragonJi ficaram deitados até que Wei Wing caiu no nosso, seu belo rosto se tornando mais tranquilo e suave.

Suspirando de alívio DraginJi o beijou na testa, sabendo que seu marido contaria o que houve no dia seguinte e que o mais importante foi feito.

Que era seu Wei Wing saber que ele estava ali e sempre estaria quando precisasse.

Summary: Wei Wuxian has not been having an easy time of it since his mate left to reclaim his home and now he's beginning to wonder if the promise to return had all the substance of seafoam. Kay's comments: Mermay is once again gifting us the best of the best merxian and merji stories and I'm enjoying the hell out of it! Poor Wei Wuxian is really going through it in this story. Got knocked up by Lan Wangji who had to leave soon afterwards to fight against the Wens and ended up kicked out by the Jiangs. The angst is strong in this one, but luckily, Wei Wuxian also gets pampered a lot to make up for it. Also really loved the intersex mer biology in this one! Excerpt: Wei Wuxian felt his pup squirming in his belly and curled up tighter. He'd been unable to make a nesting chamber. Not enough solid coral to manage. How was he going to give birth? How could he protect his pup once he birthed them if he couldn't even protect himself before the birth? He hated this. Hated being vulnerable and afraid, hated not knowing what to do, hated being alone. He should have gone with Lan Zhan. Even without a secure territory he'd have had a pod. Would have had others to help protect him and the pup. Unless...unless Lan Zhan had lied. What if Lan Zhan hadn't really wanted a mate and a pup? Or not wanted him as a mate and mother of his pups. What if Lan Zhan had just wanted sex and nothing more? What if he'd lied so he didn't have to deal with a strange, clingy mer making stupid demands of him? It made sense to Wei Wuxian's pregnancy and stress addled brain.

MXTX protagonists ranked by how bad their mommy/daddy issues are

Luo Binghe: absolutely nuclear level of mommy/daddy issues. this is the consequence of giving your protagonist two deadbeat dads and two dead moms, and then letting him project all those issues onto his overly indulgent teacher

Wei Wuxian: he could've had perfectly normal orphan levels of parent trauma, but what's that?? IT'S THE JIANG PARENTS WITH A STEEL CHAIR!!! the combo of fear and respect he had for Yu Ziyuan is already bad enough, but then there's also the feeling of responsibility for the Jiang siblings that they put on him, which then leads to, you know, all the Yunmeng sibling problems

Lan Wangji: this dude is so haunted by his father potentially kidnapping his mother and then locking her up and putting himself in seclusion, and this significantly shapes his relationship with Wei Wuxian. plus he took his mother's death really, really badly :(

Shen Qingqiu: he like never mentions his parents?? which is weird, but at least he's not haunted by it. however, he gets the special privilege of being the person exacerbating someone else's mommy/daddy issues. he brought this on himself. he doesn't get to walk out of a confession involving a metaphor where he'd be pregnant with his partner and act like that's normal

Xie Lian: he definitely has trauma surrounding his parents for sure, but they don't seem to have manifested as specifically mommy/daddy issues? it's just, you know. normal grief. honestly, there's so much shit going on with his trauma and baggage that he can't be defined by this one thing

Hua Cheng: does not seem to care about his parents?? at all???? he's presumably an orphan and they're probably the origin of his self worth issues, but like. in the grand scheme of things, they do not seem to be that big of a concern for him. who needs mommy issues when you have devotion to dianxia i guess
