I think Lan Xichen would actually like furbies unironically. He would think they are cute and not cursed, and lovingly care for several in lieu of actual pets.

if zhongli were to give you a gift, what would it be!! a bouquet of your favorite flowers? which ones? some of your favorite teyvat dishes? some homemade slow-cooked bamboo shoot soup? a handwritten love letter? man is old fashioned i think even in a modern au he would be bad with technology and opt for writing letters instead LOL

let’s see. i think glaze lillies, qingxin and silk flowers are pretty but i don’t care that much about flowers in general. he might give me just a single flower and that’d be cool ok ( still, if he ever gave me a bouquet i would PUT THAT IN MY MOUTH but not literally. i don’t care if they are wilted it’s a gift from HIM. come on now. if your f/o came alive and gave you the most cursed, ugliest and decaying elmo - furby plush thing, don’t tell me you wouldn’t cherish it forever ) i’m consuming it. might even be tattooing the date on my forehead. he’s weird and a loser he might be like “yo i saw these cool rocks and they kind of match your vibes” i’d be like “damn bae”

in all seriousness he’d probably try to study or pay attention to the dumb things i talk abt to figure out what i want. he’s pretty observant, after all. if i’m like “this pen writes really well but i don’t remember how i got this lol” or “i was out and i saw this lady with the cutest hairpin but i forgot to ask where she got it from!” like a week later he’d give me said pen. or become a pen ( who knows ahaha hey .. ) yk

or anything that reminded him of me. it can be a mug with a cat on it or a little charm who’s thread is my favorite color. silly things like that. and then he gives them to me and i combust. food and small snacks from stalls count too. baozi and bakkwa ahhh my beloveds

zhongli could be xtra silly n be like ‘i’ll make you food. do you want something fancy’ but i’m like ‘give me the most plain congee you have’ ( i have mentioned porridge maybe thrice on this blog i’m so sorry ) he already usually cooks for us in the first place BUT i love congee so much that i could technically consider it a gift whenever he makes it for me.

i do agree on the modern au thing. might even have to explain to him the difference between clicking twice and a double click. what if he sends me smoke signals over texts when i’m at the grocery store?? what if he’s on FACEBOOK?? WHAT IF HE JOINS AN MLM?!? FACEBOOK MOM???? i’m in distress.
