I think a lot about the fact Wei Wuxian’s instrument was a dizi.
A dizi is a peasant’s instrument. It’s not like the expensive complicated guqins the Lans use. Anyone can make one from a piece of bamboo.
I think that it’s very funny that the son of a commoner (who no one ever let him forget that fact) terrified armies and ruined sects with a very simple flute.
I bet the soldiers that survived the siege of the burial mound thought of him every time they heard someone performing in the town square.

Why Wei Wuxian's death was inevitable
When I first read MDZS, I came to the conclusion that the entire tragedy stemmed from the cultivation world's moral corruption, which sought to punish the Wen Remnants for the atrocities committed by the Wens. However, rereading this chapter changed my perspective.
Chapter 14: Refinement
Tumblr media
Now that I think about it it feels that all the fighting wasn't really because of the Wen Remnants, but rather was due to the cultivation world's inability to adjust to the massive power of Wei Wuxian.
All was fine by them as long as Wei wuxian remained a pawn in their game, as long as he did their bidding without question, they probably would have made peace with his existence, which we see happening in the Sunshot Campaign. But when they realised that Wei Wuxian wasn't going to bend to their will, they raised their arms against him. The problem wasn't with saving the Wen Remnants, the problem was that wwx was insanely powerful and worked as per his own moral code which was completely against the corrupt nature of the cultivation world. WWX, not the Wen Remnants, was the real threat, everyone knew that the latter posed no danger, and saving them wasn't the problem.
The cultivation world was really just playing massive powerplay games, and when they realised that WWX wasn't willing to play along, it became imperative for them to remove him for their way. Had it not been the Wen Remnants, the cultivation world would have just found another convenient excuse to turn against Wei Wuxian. He would have met the same fate, sooner or later.
JGY says the same thing, I can't believe I missed this

This also proves why JC was the true antagonist in WWX's life, he literally could have prevented everything, if only he was not so insecure and filled with resentment, as it then made it very easy for Jin Guangshan to manipulate him into committing the siege at Burial Mounds. The LanlingJin sect's main priority was killing wwx because he refused to give them the Tiger Seal and openly said that their sect was QishanWen empire all over again. WWX saving the Wen Remnants provided them that opportunity.

Following the events of an infamous blind folded kiss on the very scary Yilling Patriarch Wei Wuxian! Who must of done such a thing?
In which wwx goes on then to brag about his many thrilling “experiences” to a very upset lwj…

Have a brat lol. I just felt like drawing him for some reason so I did. I've read all of MDZS, I did enjoy it and this idiot made me laugh (at more than one type of thing).
