Is Your Sunscreen Safe? The Importance of Choosing Clean Sunscreen 🌿
In this video, we delve into the critical topic of sunscreen safety. Protecting your skin from harmful UV rays is essential, but have you ever wondered about the potential risks associated with certain sunscreens? Join us as we explore the importance of choosing clean sunscreen to ensure your skin’s health and overall well-being.
✨ The Benefits of Daily Sunscreen Use ✨
Sunscreen is a crucial element in our daily skincare routine, offering a wide range of benefits for our skin:
🔆 Sun Protection: Learn how sunscreen shields your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, reducing the risk of sunburn, premature aging, and skin damage.
🌞 Skin Cancer Prevention: Discover how regular sunscreen application can help lower the risk of skin cancer, including the most severe form, melanoma.
💧 Hydration and Moisture: Certain sunscreens are formulated to hydrate and nourish your skin, promoting a healthy and radiant complexion.
✨ Vitamin D and Sunscreen Use ✨
While sunscreen is vital for sun protection, it’s essential to understand its potential impact on vitamin D production, which is crucial for bone health and immune function. We discuss ways to maintain adequate vitamin D levels while still protecting your skin:
🌿 Sensible Sun Exposure: Learn about allowing some unprotected time in the sun, typically 10–15 minutes, before applying sunscreen to naturally produce vitamin D.
💊 Dietary Sources: Discover foods rich in vitamin D, such as fatty fish, fortified dairy products, and mushrooms, and understand when supplements may be necessary.
✨ The Importance of Choosing Clean Sunscreens ✨
We break down the significance of selecting safe and clean sunscreens for your skin and overall well-being:
🌿 Harmful Chemicals: Understand the potential risks of certain sunscreen ingredients like oxybenzone, which can be absorbed by the skin and potentially disrupt hormone balance.
🌱 Mineral Protection: Learn about the benefits of mineral-based sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide as active ingredients, creating a physical barrier against the sun’s rays.
🌟 Natural Formulations: Discover the importance of avoiding sunscreens with harmful additives like parabens and sulfates, and explore the advantages of organic and natural ingredients.
🌿 Broad-Spectrum Coverage: Understand the significance of choosing sunscreens that offer broad-spectrum protection, guarding against both UVA and UVB rays.
🌍 Environmental Consciousness: Learn about reef-friendly and biodegradable sunscreens, reducing harm to marine ecosystems while protecting your skin.
Join us on this journey to understanding sunscreen safety and making informed choices for your skin’s health. We also share Dr. Heather Wilde’s favorite sunscreen company for those seeking a safe and effective option.

The 13 Best Foods For Healthy Skin
Your skin is not only the body's largest organ but also a reflection of your overall health. Maintaining healthy and radiant skin requires more than just external skincare products; it begins with the nutrients you provide your body from the inside. A well-balanced diet rich in essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants can do wonders for your skin. In this article, we'll explore the 13 best foods for achieving and maintaining healthy, glowing skin.
1. Salmon:
Salmon is a fatty fish that's high in omega-3 fatty acids. These healthy fats help keep your skin moisturized and supple, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Omega-3s also have anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
2. Avocado:
Avocados are packed with healthy fats, vitamins E and C, and antioxidants. These nutrients help keep your skin hydrated, protect it from UV damage, and promote collagen production, which is essential for skin elasticity.
3. Sweet Potatoes:
Sweet potatoes are rich in beta-carotene, a powerful antioxidant that can give your skin a healthy glow by protecting it from sun damage and preventing premature aging.
4. Berries:
Berries like blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries are loaded with antioxidants, particularly vitamin C. Antioxidants help combat free radicals, reducing skin cell damage and promoting a more youthful appearance.
5. Walnuts:
Walnuts are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E, which help maintain the skin's moisture and protect it from oxidative stress.
6. Spinach:
Spinach is rich in vitamin A, which is essential for skin health. It helps repair skin tissues, prevent acne, and maintain a healthy complexion.
7. Green Tea:
Green tea contains polyphenols and antioxidants that protect the skin from UV radiation and reduce the risk of skin cancer. Drinking green tea regularly can also help combat inflammation and keep your skin looking fresh.
8. Tomatoes:
Tomatoes are a great source of lycopene, an antioxidant that can reduce the risk of sunburn and skin aging. It also promotes collagen production and skin elasticity.
9. Dark Chocolate:
High-quality dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher) is rich in antioxidants, specifically flavonols, which can improve skin texture, hydration, and blood flow, giving your skin a healthy glow.
10. Almonds:
Almonds are rich in vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your skin from harmful UV rays and environmental damage.
11. Yogurt:
Yogurt is packed with probiotics, which can promote a healthy gut. A balanced gut microbiome can lead to clearer skin by reducing inflammation and preventing acne.
12. Carrots:
Carrots are another great source of beta-carotene, which can help reduce skin dryness and promote a more youthful appearance.
13. Oats:
Oats are a good source of complex carbohydrates and fiber. They can help stabilize blood sugar levels, reducing the risk of acne and promoting clear skin.
While these foods can be a valuable addition to your diet for healthier skin, remember that no single food can work miracles. A well-rounded diet that includes a variety of nutrient-rich foods, along with proper hydration, is essential for achieving and maintaining radiant skin. Additionally, don't forget to protect your skin from excessive sun exposure, get enough sleep, and maintain a consistent skincare routine for the best results. Healthy, glowing skin is the result of both internal and external care, so make these foods a part of your daily routine and watch your skin thrive.

𝒀𝒂𝒔𝒎𝒚𝒏𝒆’s guide— skincare tips.
Drink water, and lots of it.
Sunscreen, daily— this is to prevent sun damage and potential hyperpigmentation.
Sleep— at least eight hours is crucial. It’s called “beauty sleep” for a reason.
Frequently change your pillowcases— wash and change them every few days, and silk cases are very beneficial for skin and hair health.
Healthy habits— need I say more? What goes into your body reflects on the outside, so stick to natural foods, maybe try 80/20ing your diet.
Daily movement— this can be any form of physical exercise (walking, cardio, pilates, yoga, etc).
Revise your current skincare routine— how are the products you’re using affecting your skin positively or negatively, and have you been using them correctly?
Seek out professional opinions— make an appointment with a dermatologist, and make any necessary changes to your current routine to improve your overall skin health.
…and finally, be patient with yourself. Healthy skin isn’t an overnight thing. Be patient and consistent, don’t stress, and you’ll see results.

I missed you!!! Can you tell me your favorite skincare products? I’ve been on the hunt for something new! I have very congested skin and I’m 28 so I’m interested in anti-premature aging :)
preventing premature aging 🥥🤍
great question! i'm also working diligently to prevent premature aging in my twenties and i've been using all of these products for at least 3+ months and have noticed a huge improvement on my skin.
morning routine + products:
cleanser: la roche posay purifying cleanser
toner: the ordinary milky toner
vitamin c cream: twent1 saffron + squalane radiant cream
vitamin c oil: twent1 vitamin c enzyme oil (SO good and very lightweight)
spf: supergoop glow screen
evening routine + products:
cleanser: same as above
toner: same as above
moisturizer: cerave daily lotion
retinol: twent1 indian bakuchiol oil (this is a retinol alternative and it’s just as effective imo).
extra helpful skincare tips:
facial steaming 1-2x per week (i like to steam with matcha powder and himalayan salt after i cleanse)
putting an oil on AFTER creams. oils don't hydrate, they seal.
learning to sleep on your back. i like to put 2 claw clips on each side of my face to avoid me rolling over to the side!
taking a collagen powder in my morning smoothie.
doube cleansing with my cleanser. i don't buy an oil cleanser.

The Power in Being Pretty 🦚
Only Unsuccessful People Can Afford to be Insecure
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; so best beheld remarkable. Every day I strive to show up as the best version of myself in private and public. This simple objective has amplified my self-concept and work ethic. Whether we blame it on the patriarchy, or blame it on society, there's no denying that humankind is visually motivated. You will see more people in a day than you speak to, and what you pick up will dictate how you perceive that person. Beauty is a performance; it is a sacred dance that men and women alike use to glamourize their reality.
Glamour~ an attractive or enticing quality that makes certain people or things appealing. The decision to be glamourous is an enchanting feat. It requires self-discipline, self-love, and self-respect. The energy you carry is a reflection of your state of being. To glamourize oneself is to energetically enhance existence.
To truly benefit from the effects of glamour, you must call back your energy cleansed, recalibrated, and only belonging to you; to be used only by you for self-empowerment. Energetic Alchemy is a prerequisite for prosperity. Mastery of this skill is the essence of glamour. Glamour encapsulates the mind, that is where we start.
Self-care means doing the things that make you feel most like yourself. Spend time with yourself, away from the noise. When you begin your self-care ritual; allow your energy to flow authentically. Let your mind race and take you on a journey through your psyche. Converse with yourself, every part of you is a unique entity. Embrace the All. You are a gem, a single stone made up of a multitude of facets; every one as beautiful as the last. No fragment can exist without the other.
Hygienic maintenance is the foundation of abundance. Dedicate yourself to cleansing your mind, body, and spirit. Remove the junk and gunk to make space for you to shine. A diamond in the rough is merely a gem unable to be seen.

Hello! Do you have any tips for a scent layering routine and how to always smell clean and fresh? Thank you!
Hi love! Sharing some tips below. Hope these help xx
Scent Layering Tips:
Remember your routine starts in the shower. Use fragrance-free body wash/lotion if you want to ensure they don't mix with any perfume/fragrance mists. Otherwise, test to see whether your favorite scented body wash/lotions complement each other/work together to create your desired scent.
Apply scents from the heaviest to the lightest. Apply your heady perfumes (musky, deeper, spicier, and richer-smelling scents) before your lighter fragrances (brighter floral or citrus scents). Typically, bolder perfume scents have more dynamic and/or deeper base notes (the notes that last on the skin for the longest skin [4-6 hours -once the perfume has "dried down"]. Popular base notes include vanilla, oud, musk, patchouli, sandalwood, cedarwood) and can have common heart notes [actualize around 20-60 minutes after spraying the perfume after the top notes, or initial scent, starts to fade]. Some common heart/middle perfume notes include jasmine, rose, cinnamon, geranium, lavender, black pepper, pine, and lemongrass.
When in doubt, layer two perfumes (and/or scented body products) with the same/overlapping base and/or heart notes. Think a vanilla-scented body lotion with a vanilla-based perfume or scents with vanilla-jasmine notes like Valentino Donna Born in Roma EDP layered with Versace Crystal Noir.
Don't layer two heavy scents together. Think of scents like Tom Ford Black Orchid and Mugler Alien paired together. When combined the smell can be overwhelming and give you a headache. Huda Beauty created a great fragrance scent layering guide (in the hyperlink).
How To Smell Fresh All Day Long:
Shower daily with soap and water under your arms, behind, and on the bikini area (only use water on the inside/your vulva)
Moisturize your skin daily (body hands, face)
Brush your teeth twice a day. Floss at least once a day. Keep a disposable toothbrush or at least some breath mints handy for use throughout the day if needed
Apply an antiperspirant deodorant every morning/before any activity where you think you'll be sweating. Carry around a mini one in your work bag or if you have room for one in your purse if out for several hours at a time on a hot day
Have feminine hygiene wipes and wet wipes on hand to cleanse the downstairs regions as needed
Keep some cleansing wipes/spray to refresh your body/face if you're in a hot/humid climate or are prone to sweating (I like the Pacifica Coconut Milk & Essential Oils Underarm Deodorant Wipes and Evian Facial Spray to freshen up throughout the day)
Change any liners/pads/tampons every 3-4 hours when not asleep
Wear underwear with a cotton gusset daily (lingerie is the exception)
Change your underwear and socks throughout the day
Ensure you're washing your towels and pillowcases at least once a week
Choose breathable fabrics (linen, bamboo, cotton, Tencel, silk, merino wool) in the hot/humid weather or if you're worried about sweating
Keep a rollerball of your go-to perfume to freshen up on your pulse points if needed throughout the day/night

ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧ Welcome!
This is a blog meant to help younglings (and elders) who struggle with proper selfcare. A well maintained body, mind and environment are crucial to a good life, and I'll be happy to help!
This is not a fandom blog! But I will occasionally share positive Dunmeshi things too :)
Senshi ✧ he/him ✧ 21+ ✧ diagnosed w. AuDHD and PTSD
One of the greatest things in life is that you can start over whenever you want. Right now, you can choose to make the change you need. To be the change. In this very moment, you can choose recovery. Today could be the first day of the rest of your life. Even if nobody came to save you in the past, or nobody taught you what you need to know, you can learn to be there for yourself now - and you're stronger and more capable than you may feel.
Your experiences weren't for nothing. They shaped you into who you are. And once you can learn to get along with the person you are, you've won at life.
I steer away from discourse, fandom drama and the like. I don't engage in callout or cancel culture. I don't have a DNI, but I block people when I notice they support any hateful ideology (for example homophobia, transphobia, racism, bullying, callout culture, anti-recovery, etc...) Please keep in mind that I'm not a professional, but I'm some guy out there who cares and wants to see you succeed.
Look after yourself! 🍞

simple skincare tips!
🌼eat the foods that love you back. your skin is a direct mirror of your internal situation. if your digestive system is being bombarded often by foods that create a lot of wastes and residues, that does more harm than good. and so, the struggle to eliminate them will be reflected in your skin. your diet constitutes the vast majority of your skin health. change your meals to be whole food plant based (still delicious, satisfying, and exciting) & watch your skin glow and your skincare routine simplify.
🌼be conscious of what's going on your skin. the skin layers can be over-cleansed, imbalanced, and aggravated when the skin microbiome and pH are disrupted. if you wipe out the beneficial bacterial populations with harshly formulated products, you may find that you break out (i.e. harmful bacterial populations begin to thrive). use gentle, simple skin formulas such as castile soaps, natural oils & butters (i recommend jojoba oil for mostly everyone), natural soap bars, and clays. most commercial skin care products disturb the skin cells (introduce too much foreign material to the body, unsuitable pH ranges, imbalance the microbiome, etc). they sell because it's convention to buy them, the brands are well-known, and their sales pitches are enticing. but really, no cream or serum will ever be the magic potion your skin was asking for. it will only be a band-aid, at best. truly healthy skin comes from diet, and the products are just for any other necessary maintenance. if you get a pimple, you should look first to why the pimple emerged, not what treatment will remove it.
🌼keep your lymph flowing. simple ways to do this are through good lifestyle habits. things like doing exercise & sports you find fun, breathwork, dry brushing, eating lots of fruit, avoiding wearing bras & other tight clothing items, lymphatic massage/gua sha can all be helpful.
🌼focus on hydration via fresh fruits and veggies. the water within plant foods is more useable to your cells, and your skin will cease being overly oily or dry overtime (especially if you reduce/eliminate your salt & oil intake). it will also help to encourage lymphatic flow, so you can see problems like blemishes, cellulite, old scars diminish after great consistency.
🌼allow your skin to breathe. this is especially good if you spend time in stuffy (poorly ventilated) indoor environments, like offices, hospitals, planes, etc. one great way is via herbal facial steaming (i recommend it 3x a week or so). make a hot infusion of an aromatic tea, cover it and allow it to cool a few minutes, and, with closed eyes, allow the pores to open and receive the herbal medicine (this is a great time to meditate, manifest, and just feel pampered). getting more fresh air, working up a sweat, and going to a sauna are also ways to allow your skin to breathe.
🌼avoid steroid prescriptions creams at all costs. they are very deleterious to health in the long term, and they can be very painful to come off of. it's not a real fix. it's not worth hurting your kidneys & adrenals for. evaluate your diet instead. do you eat dairy? choose plant-based dairy options instead (they're simple to make yourself too). do you eat a lot of fats? try oil-free cooking methods instead (opt for sautéing with a bit of water, baking, steaming, air frying, etc). avoiding eating out as much.
🌼be aware of what you're putting in your hair as well. your shampoos, conditioner, leave-ins, gels, moisturizers, oils, serums, etc all tend to touch your face too, when your hair touches your face. if they wouldn't be good enough to put on your face, don't put them in your hair. a lot of the best skin cleansers are also suitable as shampoos. a lot of oils and butters can be used for both. plant-based gels like aloe vera or flax seed are simple to DIY, and are dual-use once again. basically, this will simplify your life.
🌼understand the water that runs through your pipes. if your shower and tap water are like most people's around the world, they aren't optimal for our skin. for example, they contain added chemicals to sanitize the water but that can prevent the proper microbiomes from developing on your skin. a weak skin microbiome is prone to skin issues. so, try to use distilled water on your face (if you're not able to get a water filter, a gallon jug at a store is affordable. they're about $1.30 USD in my area).

PSA reminder that if you are using spray on suncreen, you still NEED to rub it in to make sure you got full coverage of any exposed areas of your skin!
You also need to reapply sunscreen every few hours, especially if you've been swimming or sweating a lot!
Use SPF 30 at bare minimum, but SPF 50 is a much better bet. It's also a good idea to check into the brand you're buying to make sure it's not one of the ones that have been caught lying about their SPF rating.
