I was, for a while, working on a follow up to Fey Folio. Some of you may remember it - the working title was 'Into the Wilds'. Quite a lot of the content I wrote for Into the Wilds ended up on this blog over the years, but some of the spells felt too niche to put out under the 'spellbook saturday' banner without any context.

The art is a night twist, by Moniek Schilder; stats here (it's in the original Fey Folio book too).

The hallucinating condition is explained here, if you haven't come across it before.

And 'shoogly' is a Scots term meaning wobbly or unstable. The spell makes a quaking bog, basically.

Enid sniffing Wednesday repeatedly before proclaiming “you’re about to have a vision” then catching her before she hits the ground

Oooh I love this and her like growling at anyone who gets close to Wednesday when she's out. I've seen some angst-y art of Enid laying next to Wednesday worrying while Wednesday is in a vision and I just want to write something where Enid is just ready for her to wake up with some water because she knows that Wednesday's visions are often intense and having water and seeing Enid's face helps ground her. I like the idea of Enid's like inner wolf falling for Wednesday before her human self even realizes and then it hits her and she's like "oh wow 😳"

I said I'm not starting new wips at least until the 7x10 fic is done but.... I started a new wip 🙈 I shared some of it yesterday for the wip tag game, but I wrote some more lol

And so he gets up, taking deep breaths, trying to appear as normal as possible, and just as he’s about to take a step away from the bed, Tommy’s hand shoots up and wraps around Buck’s wrist loosely, from where he’s still spread out on the bed, now propping himself up on his elbow.

“Baby, you okay?” he asks, and Buck looks at him, sees the worry in his eyes, the small crease between his eyebrows, as he’s looking Buck up and down looking for any sign of something being wrong. Shit. It’s annoying sometimes, how quickly he became so well-attuned to Buck, how he knows him so well, and he’s so damn perceptive. Sometimes it’s adorable, and hot, and fills Buck with so much affection. Right now, it’s a nuisance. 

“Yeah. Yeah, I’m fine.” Buck smiles. Or, he tries, because at that moment he tries to step away again, and a searing jolt of pain shoots down his leg again, and he releases a breath that sounds like he was punched in the gut.

“Yeah, you’re clearly not fine.” Tommy raises an eyebrow, but his eyes are still full of concern. He tugs on Buck’s wrist lightly. “Come back here,” he pats the space on the bed Buck just vacated, and it’s so tempting, and he’s in pain, and he just wants to sit back down. But he’s also stubborn, and he decided that he’s fine and that he doesn’t want Tommy to worry for no reason.

When I heard that our sci-fi setting, Dark Matter, was getting a patch to bring it into line with the 2024 rules, I was suddenly inspired to create a bunch of new magic items. Now, these were written before the patch and will only be compatible with the original rules, but I'm afraid that's all you're getting.

Anyway, I always thought there weren't enough magical laser guns in the original book. This may be my last chance to put that right!

Today’s enrichment for my enclosure was a new giant whale shark plushie pattern! I got all the machine sewing done, I just need to add the stuffing and close the opening for turning tomorrow

I’m genuinely so fucking sick of the “you all would have loved it if it was Eddie who made that comment” take.

First of all, Eddie wouldn’t have made comment then, bc he knows how hard it is for Buck to talk about his emotions, & is REALLY good at giving him the space to talk about them, even if he does make jokes, they’re not out of pocket (the coming out scene, anyone? Breaking the tension with a joke & still being supportive without making a joke of his feelings.)

Secondly, even if Eddie DID make that comment, I’d probably still roll my eyes, but I’d be more willing to accept it. Do you wanna know why???

Who was the person that knew the details of what Buck was talking to his therapist about during their emergency session before the Buckley’s visit? Who is the first one they show at Buck’s side when he gets stuck in the warehouse trying to pull Saleh out after learning about Daniel?? Who is the one who was pacing downstairs in the station & making sure Buck was okay after the warehouse, and the one who warned him about his visitors??

Who was the one praying at Bobby’s bedside, right next to Buck in the hospital?

(I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the dude that’s had 10 minutes of fucking screen time that everyone forgot about post s1.)

It wouldn’t have been the same bc TOMMY AND EDDIE ARE NOT THE SAME. They are not on the same level of knowing Buck & understanding when to make jokes & what jokes to make. Your best friend, partner & co-parent of 6 years and the man that you haven’t even called your boyfriend yet are not on the same level of familiarity.

I get that you’re pissed that Tommy is being compared to Buck’s previous love interests (which would be the case, even if he wasn’t just as shitty & uninterested in Buck as a person as they all were) but if you genuinely think that he’s anywhere near Eddie’s level, EVEN PLATONICALLY, then I fear that you have been watching another show entirely, & I encourage you to watch more than just s7, bc that’s the only explanation I can come up with for why this fuck ass take exists.
