Today’s enrichment for my enclosure was a new giant whale shark plushie pattern! I got all the machine sewing done, I just need to add the stuffing and close the opening for turning tomorrow

finally after some time i deided to try and draw Misaki once again, since he was around a lot more and none of the previous pictures really managed to capture his appearance to its most true extend. This time around i am not just happy with how the art looks in general, but also that i acctually managed to capture him in a way that feels like its actually him! Before, while the picutres werent wrong, they were just.. off ? but anyway! I managed to also practice and play around with colors and just anatomy and clothes in general since, sketching it out was a struggle and took almost hours in total y-y I was truly struggling a lot with the way things just work, but i managed to pull through it uwu!! Simple backrgound with sharks cuz he likes sharks :) -Dairiem

Here’s a Theory / Headcanon AND a funny little WIP + Sketch

Because of the shark and very likely whale in Sebsations genetic mixup, my partner and I were thinking he likely has very thick skin. While not bullet proof thick of course..it WOULD be thick enough to significantly lessen the effects of anesthesia, since the needle wouldn’t be able to get into the blood veins very easily if at all, and would likely only get dispersed skin level [unintentionally subcutaneously, which is the slowest way to distribute injected medicine]

Spoilers although I’m sure it’s known information

Allowing him that opportunity to fake the effects and kill the researchers to release the monsters!

Additionally: He’s not necessarily immune to the effects, it would just take far FAR longer for it to properly kick due to the anesthesia ending up either intermuscularly or subcutaneously. Even once it did kick in, he’d likely only be loopy and notice numbness around the injection site, but not be completely knocked on his ass unless dosed properly [By then he would be able to crawl to a safe room though]

On your left, you will notice we are passing by Port Mayor, Great Britain. A lovely fishing port run by an absolute bastard of a person. Make sure on your stop you steal a hearty handful from the Royal’s pockets, and try their regional specialty: Port Plum Pudding. Great for the season.

🌋Isle of Talon Rock🌋

Oh, this one’s a lovely sightseeing adventure! Talon Rock is an inactive volcano in the center of thick jungle. Do watch your feet for snakes; they are quite venomous here. The igneous walls of the lava tubes are home to a variety of rich gems, but make sure you vacate before high tide if you don’t want to get your clothes wet.

We arrive at another port. Excellent tailor at this location; this is where I picked out most of Benjamin’s fashion.

This one looks deceptive at first glance, but a trove of valuables rests deep enough inside the many underwater cave systems. You’ll have to do a little spelunking, but if you reach deep enough the treasures are ripe for the taking~

thanks to the people who interacted with my og mermed post who reminded me I've meant to post this wip of the rest of them but kept forgetting, since it might never get finished.

Well, minus the Kankers and Bro, who all also had merfolk designs but I never got to them.

All 3 Kankers were going to be different kinds of sharks: Lee a Great White, Marie either a tiger or Mako, and May a Nurse Shark... and ofc Bro was going to be a whale though I was struggling between the sperm whale like his trailer or a humpback for better design.

WIP: Diver Lola and a merman Jonathan!

I've seen a lot of fanart that portrays Jonathan as a whale shark merman, so I wanted to jump on the bandwagon. I've been scuba diving before, and I'm glad that it's not in one of those huge clunky suits anymore. They're terrifying!

HEHEHE thank you for giving me a chance to talk about merdrew because I am SO EXCITED for this fic!!

Not only did I interview an aquarist from Georgia Aquarium while researching for this fic, but the actual setting itself is based on the whale shark tanks at the Georgia Aquarium! I may even be taking a trip down to Atlanta sometime in the upcoming months to see the exhibit in person (which will be really helpful for writing the renison spin-off I already have planned).

Anyway!! What I'm most excited for in this fic is the elements of magical realism that are baked into the plot. It's a merfolk fic, so there are of course some fantastical elements, but I've taken a lot of care to ground it firmly in reality (hence all the research).

I really think this fic is something special, and I can't wait to share it with you all :) here's a little sneak peek for you, as a treat!

Fatherhood seems to have cleaned his little brother up and he couldn’t be more grateful – seeing Al get to have a loving family of his own is refreshing to see. Wayne knows how much work it took to find that with the examples they call parents.

Inside, there’s the shadow of a whale shark swimming towards them, gliding smoothly through the water. Eddie doesn’t pull his eyes away even as Steve gently tugs his hand to get them closer to the glass.

Right before Mama leaves his room she always starts the vinyl with the pretty lady on it. She told him that there’s all kinds of different music, but this is her favorite – blues. Eddie knows all about colors and he’s sure they can’t be music, but Mama’s usually right about stuff so he hasn’t corrected her.

Eddie’s been busy doing his best impression of a mummy, white gauze wrapped around almost every inch of skin. Luckily, it doesn’t seemed to have affected him much since he joked about Hopper hauling him off even without his shoes on. Wayne chuckled a bit at that and Hopper felt some of the tension leave his shoulders.
