If Tretirir are the biggest predatory threats on Sun and Moon's world, how would they react to Earth's greater cast of carnivores that can attack people, like bears, wolves, big cats, sharks, crocodiles, and dinosaurs?

Their biggest question would be HOW? How are we as a species still alive and on top when there are so many things that could kill us, and will kill us when given the chance? Because when it comes down to it, humans are weak, squishy and vulnerable. Our power is our smart brains but we have no natural weapons, no claws, no sharp teeth, no poison or venom, nothing.

We have all these creatures on our planet, countless of animals who are bigger, stronger, more dangerous in so many ways, animals who would happily have us for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even animals who wouldn't consider us prey can be extremely dangerous to us frail little humans (think hippos and moose).

It would be an interesting thing to teach them about, how humans came to be. How way back in ye olden days, the early humans were actively preyed upon by carnivorous animals, but that somehow we managed to beat the odds over and over and over and over again. And how there were countless more species before us, like the dinosaurs, who ruled for far longer than we've been alive.

Despite the fact that we share this planet with so many creatures who are stronger, faster, bigger, and all the disasters we've faced and overcome, we still ended up on top of the food chain.

Humans are resilient and don't give up, and I think Sun and Moon would be utterly fascinated by it. I would love to drag these boys to a Museum of Natural History or something. Not really an option of course, but there are other ways for Y/N to show them about these things. ^-^

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope’s flight harness is transferred from the mock-up structure to the spacecraft flight structure.

Your Body is Wired Like a NASA Space Telescope. Sort Of.

If our Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope were alive, its nervous system would be the intricate wiring, or “harness,” that helps different parts of the observatory communicate with one another. Just like the human body sends information through nerves to function, Roman will send commands through this special harness to help achieve its mission: answering longstanding questions about dark energy, dark matter, and exoplanets, among other mind-bending cosmic queries. 

Roman’s harness weighs around 1,000 pounds and is made of about 32,000 wires and 900 connectors. If those parts were laid out end-to-end, they would be 45 miles long from start to finish. Coincidentally, the human body’s nerves would span the same distance if lined up. That’s far enough to reach nearly three-fourths of the way to space, twice as far as a marathon, or eight times taller than Mount Everest!

Over a span of two years, 11 technicians spent time at the workbench and perched on ladders, cutting wire to length, carefully cleaning each component, and repeatedly connecting everything together.  

Space is usually freezing cold, but spacecraft that are in direct sunlight can get incredibly hot. Roman’s harness went through the Space Environment Simulator – a massive thermal vacuum chamber – to expose the components to the temperatures they’ll experience in space. Technicians “baked” vapors out of the harness to make sure they won’t cause problems later in orbit.  

Technicians work to secure Roman’s harness to the interior of the spacecraft flight structure. They are standing in the portion of the spacecraft bus where the propellant tanks will be mounted.  

The next step is for engineers to weave the harness through the flight structure in Goddard’s big clean room, a space almost perfectly free of dust and other particles. This process will be ongoing until most of the spacecraft components are assembled. The Roman Space Telescope is set to launch by May 2027.

What would you do if one night, you're suddenly awoken by a horrible sound and you quickly find yourself face to face with not only a strange vessel that seemingly crash-landed into your backyard, but also two strange extra-terrestial beings, one of which is badly injured?

The beginning premise of my AU, Dark Matter!

Ya'll better look at this because this took me SO MANY HOURS and over 200 layers, minimum. I didn't keep count but it's a lot. Also let's not pretend I know how to draw a spaceship lmao, and I spent way too long drawing grass only for it to be barely visible XD;

Also yes, their blood is a golden color.

I had a really hard time getting Sun's inner glow to look right, Moon is easy but because Sun is yellow it's very difficult to not make it look muddied in a night time scene, but it's almost 2AM here and I didn't want to fiddle with this anymore. I'M TIRED.

Poor scared Sunny, it'll be okay and so will Moon. Probably >3 Y/n is gonna have their hands full dealing with this.

I'm still working on chapters and I wanna do a pic of their planet next because it's very pretty and I wanna go there, but in the meantime if you have any questions regarding this AU, feel free to send them my way. ^-^
