i'm so sorry but this angle is driving me insane. he is SO much taller than her here and why on EARTH did he choose to sit with his legs this open to her?!?!?! (I know why) but this is crazy! and nevermind that his hips literally rock in to her in the above gif, i literally won't even mention that. and AS EVER his hand and extended arm is protectively covering her

they didn't even have a moment of oh this is awkard- they didn't even notice. i'm just sat here, with my own eyeballs, trying to see the platonic reason for this

In S3, I began to think that my reaction to Claire's "acting" was likely due to our limited understanding of her, which made her reactions seem forced and one-dimensional. Even people who didn't dislike the character thought she was one-note and, therefore, "too much of a bubbly happy person" to be natural. Claire's 24/7 disposition is about being perceived, as @freedelusionshere and @morningssofgold have said.

But I think it's very telling that it's Sydney who gets glares of disgust from Claire, because Claire is not interested in gaining her favor, the way she wants the Berzattos clan's adoration. Sydney definitely doesn't display the traits of insecurity and dysfunction that Claire finds attractive.

Discussing Claire's story about staring at a classmate's injury without worry or panic, but with curiosity to "understand it" rather than fix it, many of us suspect a palpable lack of empathy. But this, being irritated/disgusted at Sydney when she is in this vulnerable state...

I'm not sure; this could depend on perception, but like many scenes with Claire, something feels off.

There is a very clear difference in Carmy’s deposition in replicants. To me, I feel like Carmy has made peace with Claire and is starting to move on! He’s back in Al Anon, he’s happily looking and finding inspiration in his city, he’s being a wonderful mentor to Marcus, he’s receiving beautiful affirmations from Tina, and he’s apologizing and attempting healthy communication with Syd.

He even gets to meet and be in the presence of his niece. All in all things are looking up for Carmy in a way we haven’t seen in awhile (if ever) and lowkey it took me back to him leaving for New York. It’s not until tragedy strikes with Sydney’s father that they are both thrown back into their default settings. Sydney’s insistence that she’s ok and does not need his help in this pivotal/personal moment unintentionally pushes him away, and that mindset continues in Sophie. So much so that this is confirmed by the call he receives from Shapiro. I think this call plus Sydney’s confirmation that Claire is great leads him to reach out, to likely Ted, and check in on Claire. Then he has a touch point when they speak at the wedding. Now we’re back in the loop. But for about 25 minutes we had a taste of what it would be like if the cycle was broken. This is when things start to gel and this is also just before the self sabotage starts (for both of them).
