“Wait, that wasn’t good enough. Another take.” Akutagawa said when the kiss ended, and Atsushi had to bite back a laugh; at that point, he knew him well enough to know how his… now boyfriend, hopefully, would take him laughing in a moment like that.

“It’s been the fourth take already. Just admit you like kissing me, it’s fine.” He managed to reply instead.

“... Jinko.” Not surprisingly, Akutagawa received his words with a frown.

“What?” Atsushi shrugged, as if on the verge of feigning innocence when it wasn’t necessary, then carried on. “I like kissing you.”

That, apart from obviously being more than incredibly genuine, also seemed to fulfill its purpose in a blink: the scowl forming on Akutagawa’s face began dissipating with such an admission. Sure, with his default expression it still may seem he was mad, but someone who knew where to look would notice the difference.

And, of course and again, Atsushi knew.

“Fine.” And yet, he managed to still speak as if Atsushi had just challenged him in some way. But, well, that wasn’t uncommon. “I like kissing you too.”

Maybe, in different circumstances, Atsushi would have answered with a smug ‘That wasn’t so hard, right?’ or something along similar lines. Right then, though, all he could do was grin from ear to ear, as if he had just won the lottery.

“Also… I’m more than up for another take, yes.” Was what he did say, leaning in once again.
