Movie sonamy hcs?

i feel like i haven't solidified an opinion of them just because Amy's character can be taken and interpreted in so many different ways, which inevitably makes it so that movie sonamy has many different possibilities

but here i'll try

1. I think Amy will live with the Wachowski's

i know a lot of people are concerned about her technically getting adopted, making her and Sonic adopted siblings but like...no?? She could just live there and have a familial relationship with everyone except Sonic and not get officially adopted

she gives sibling vibes with knuckles anyway, and im sure maddie is going to be thrilled to have amy in the house

or maybe they can all be her in-laws /j

2. Sonic and Amy definitely have beef at first

Doesn't matter about what, they're constantly biting at each other for the dumbest stuff

For example, Amy def likes manga the way Sonic likes comics, and they both fight about which is better

but like give them a week and now both of them never shut up once they start talking about their interests, and pretty soon everyone else just leaves the room and they will yap for HOURS

3. Amy's all girlboss since she's had to live on her own for so long, but the second she realizes she has a knight in shining armor now she totally plays the part

Like she beats up Eggman when he tries to kidnap her, but the second she realizes Sonic was coming to save her, she quickly runs back and sits all dolled up and pretty waiting for him

meanwhile eggman is sitting in his ruined rubble pile like "wtf"

4. Right from the get-go Amy makes it clear that she thinks Sonic is cute

She'll constantly make off-handed comments like "We can't do that, cause singed fur isn't a good look on your handsome face" and Sonic's thrown off at first but as she keeps doing it he eats it up

but bro cannot say that she's pretty to save his life even though she's literally the prettiest person he's ever seen in his entire life)

5. Sonic grows dependent on Amy’s attention

While everyone obviously believes in him and is not shy of saying so (save for Knuckles), there’s something different about having someone you like always hyping you up and doting on you, and he likes it a lot

Kind of like Twitter Takeover Sonic, when Amy said “You’re my one, perfect Sonic,” and he just laughed happily.

6. Whenever Sonic finds a new place of flowers while running around, he always brings one back for Amy

But of course, Amy always prefers it when Sonic takes her to the original place so she can take in the natural beauty

7. They start to mimic each other

This is a headcanon I share with modern SonAmy but you know how they say you act like the people you spend the most time with

Well yeah pretty soon after everything that happens in Sonic 4 you just see Amy tapping her foot when she’s impatient, Saying her catchphrase the way Sonic does, taunting her enemies the way Sonic does

But you also see Sonic showing more interest in fortune tellers, trying to cook chili dogs at Amy’s behest (which he usually would blow up the kitchen before), showing more interest in quill maintenance

im having a hard time coming up with stuff for him cuz idk how movie amy acts help

Aaaaanyways maybe I’ll revisit this once we have a trailer of sorts but I hope this was entertaining :D

I can't decide on one, but right now the plans are to pursue becoming a published author, a voice actress, a theater actress (?) in general (idk how that one works, that might just be for fun). Am I the only person who is STILL shocked that this nickname is canon now?

Also, Sonic knows Amy loves him, so the fact he’s calling her this doesn't strike me as “just giving his friend a nickname” thing, you know? There's gotta be SOME amount of compassion coming from calling her this whether romantic or not. But to be honest, “Ames” used to be used in shipping fanfiction. Which hasn't changed at all. Sonic Boom too because of course it was.

The point is, Sonic is close enough to Amy to give her a nickname that no one else uses and in total situationship fastion, hopefully, he does it more often because it’s one way to give her words of endearment without making it obious. Dude is taking it one step at a time and I’m proud of him for it.

The SonAmy in episode 52 - BREAKDOWN & ANALYSIS

One of the most famous episodes of Sonic X is episode 52, “Memories of the Wind”. It has been talked about a lot – mainly thanks to the giant SonAmy scene near the end of the episode. Fans have discussed and talked about that scene for years, but yet no one has done a proper breakdown of it.

I wish to change that.

I’m trying to be as unbiased as possible, only stating the facts and avoiding writing my own opinions. This breakdown is only meant to be for those wishing to get a clearer view of the subtext and such.

Oh, and please note that this is based on the Japanese version, not the 4Kids-dub.

So, let’s dive right into it!

What’s made clear in the start of the episode is that Sonic has been gone for an unknown amount of time and some are starting to lose hope that he will return. Amy’s, as expected, emotionally unstable to say the least. When Vanilla and Cream offer her to move in to their home Amy visibly trembles and she fights tears during the entire scene. For some this may look a bit odd, but one has to consider that Amy has just decided (as she explained later in the episode) that she would spend the rest of her life waiting for Sonic if that’s what it took.

When Eggman interrupts Amy’s small speech she immediately marches outside and confronts him. She’s all well and collected until���

SHE IS LITERALLY ON FIRE. Just mentioning Sonic makes her go insane and she attacks Eggman and the gang all on her own. To clarify, Eggman is piloting a plane strong enough TO TAKE DOWN TAILS’ X-TORNADO.

Amy’s reaction to these screenshots included screaming and hammer throwing.

So why does she react so strongly? 

Because she’s uncertain what to believe in herself.

She’s afraid that Sonic really did abandon her.

And yet she has promised herself to devote the rest of her life to him.

We get a small interruption here with Knuckles and Rouge, so let’s skip right ahead to when Sonic appears again.

The entirety of this scene has “Hikaru Michi” (Shining Road) playing in the background. While some fans have discussed the lyric’s importance for this scene I don’t think it’s meant to be that looked into since the character’s talk over the lyrics multiple times (making it impossible to make out anything as a normal viewer) and besides, this particular song plays in other scenes – it’s not exclusive to this one. I think they chose this song purely since it fits. It’s a romantic song with a slight melancholic melody; the perfect match. The lyrics are mostly just there.

So right, moving on. Amy sees Super Sonic flying in the sky. Her reaction:

Certainly wasn’t expecting to see him that soon, eh?

But wait, isn’t that Cream beside her? Didn’t Amy say she would live on her own? 

Maybe she’s just on a sleep-over. They are close friends, after all.

The “camera” pans over the decoration of the house. The overall colour palette is dark, cold. It has been so during the entirety of this episode when you think about it. And no wonder; everyone practically believes that Sonic is lost forever. Everyone, while some may not admit it, misses Sonic dearly. Having a bright and cheerful colour palette would not properly convey the mood of the characters, hence the dark colour palette. A clock in the background displays it’s a bit after 4, so the sun won’t come up for a while.

Wait, is that a photograph of Sonic and Amy? Isn’t this Vanilla’s home? So why does she have a photo of them two? It’s certainly not there to display Vanilla’s taste in decoration.

The photograph is shown right after Sonic and Amy both appear on screen after each other. Both of them are smiling together in the photograph, which is pretty rare in Sonic X, actually. It’s displaying their relationship and the memories they have together. It’s a sort of, “Hey, remember how much they’ve been through?”-moment.

Amy sets off in the dark night in pursuit of Sonic. Let’s take a moment to remember that Sonic is currently in his super-form: he can travel faster than the speed of light, yet he’s… rather slow now, isn’t it? So slow that Amy can keep track of him and actually chase him from the ground. It’s like he wants someone to find him, isn’t it?

Sonic lowers down to ground, bringing the pair closer. And when he does…

…the sun immediately goes up in a matter of seconds. The second Sonic and Amy get close to each other all the dark and bitterness is blown away and is replaced by the usual bright and cheerful mood. It feels as if everything in the world suddenly if fine, now that they are going to get reunited.

I wasn’t kidding when I said everything got bright. Here we see Amy running for a looong time, slowly getting closer to the one she had presumed gone for an eternity. The music is getting more intense, we can see her growing and growing in the background…

We see Sonic standing quietly in front of a empty and dark house, with his back against the camera. The second he hears someone behind him he turns around in a split second. The camera pans around and displays an exhausted Amy.

They are finally reunited. Amy’s greeted with Sonic smiling cheerfully in the background in front of the dark house…

Wait a minute…

What does that sign say?

“The House of Amy Rose”?

Yes. The first location Sonic goes to after being away from his home planet for years is, in fact, Amy’s house. When we saw close-ups of Super Sonic flying in the sky before, he seemed determined and flew in a straight line, seemingly knowing exactly where to go. Almost as if he had planned and waited for this moment before.

Sonic: Hi!

Sonic’s first word to Amy is a bit casual, isn’t it? Just a simple “hi”. It’s deliberately anti-climatic, written for an effect.

Amy’s quiet so he hasn’t really nothing to go on. He can see she’s freaking out, so what does he do? A simple word to break the ice is a good idea, he thinks.

Amy: IDIOT!

Yeah, wasn’t really expecting that response.

Amy goes off on an angry rant, furious over that she made one of her life’s biggest decisions in vain. It’s written to showcase Amy’s childish side.

Pretty quickly her anger turns into crying, displaying how emotionally unstable she really is in this episode.

Instead of apologising or showing any kind of remorse for Amy’s accusations Sonic instead smiles at her. He understands that Amy’s not that stable at the moment and doesn’t get angry or anything at her for her silly accusations. Even calling him an idiot gets no response from him.

Amy gets on the ground and continues crying rivers.

And the camera pans over the sign again to remind the audience how Sonic chose to come to her house before all else.

So why did he?

A pretty known fact for Sonic is that he can’t stand seeing people cry. He goes great lengths to make them happy instead, as shown both in Sonic X and the games.

He would know that Amy would react strongly to knowing he’s back. He doesn’t seem that shocked at Amy’s breakdown (apart from when she called him an idiot that one second). It’s like he expected something like this to happen.

So what does Sonic do now, with Amy crying on the ground in front of him?

He remains quiet, letting Amy take out all her built-up anger on him. He understands how painful this past time must have been for her.

And just when the time is right…

He picks her a white rose. A white rose stands for purity, innocence but most of all..

New beginnings.

He understands and sympathises with Amy’s frustration, but he wants her to look at what’s now, what’s present. He’s saying, “I’m here now, it’s okay” without needing to utter a single word.

Amy, just before this, demanded Sonic to say that he really did love her. 

This is the moment the entire episode has hyped…

The moment everyone’s waited for…

He says something to her, gives her a little wink and smile as he holds up the rose… The audio is muted so no one but Amy can hear what he actually says.

But whatever he said…

Makes her cry tears of joy and embrace him with all of her might.

It is later revealed in episode 69 by Amy that Sonic said that he missed her a lot, for those interested:

So what will you make out of this? That is entirely up to you.

i wonder if something will ever beat this for me

i could yap for hours about the subcontexts of this scene but i will refrain for now

imagine they do some sort of callback to this in sonic 4 i will SCREAM right then and there in the theater

but i will say, a close second to that is this:

i think i like this so much because it perfectly establishes the nature of Amy’s love for Sonic, which is so often mischaracterized

And it’s also THE turning point for Sonic’s attitude towards Amy for the rest of the idw comics, which is probably my favorite SonAmy out of all of them

this right here is my favourite thing ever, in the history of forever

i loved him in this movie. he was so silly and fun but actually acted serious when he needed to. he developed and matured so much. when he decided to give sonic the thing he had looked for HIS WHOLE LIFE because he didn’t want to fight him? because he preferred to trust his brother and his good heart rather than harm his family? i just-

he is THE big brother 🥹 he looked after sonic and tails the whole time, he was so protective over them.

i was 100% satisfied with what they did with knuckles in this movie. the only thing i missed was him interacting a bit more with his newfound parents but i understand there was too much going on.

i just physically need to hear him call maddie “mum” once :”)

Okay but I think Wade should adopt Amy at the end of the fourth movie.

Wade would be the most adorable girl dad and would just dote on and adore her. And Amy would just bloom (pun intended) under his affection and love him so much.

I can just see Wade cheering her on at everything and watching her be a powerhouse with his phone camera out like "You're doing amazing sweetie!" and just helping her brush out her quills and having talks about boys with her and just. Just. Wade being a girl dad alsllsdkkdkdkdkdkdkd
