i'm regularly astounded by the cognitive dissonance some of yall have to accept that gender is a social construct with infinite possibilities with the capacity to be deeply personal and individual but still think there's a list of like 4 acceptable sexual orientations and if you go outside of that list or mix entries on that list or relate to them in a non-traditional way not only are you Breaking The Rules you're personally directly harming people who follow them

advice for my acespecs struggling with impostor syndrome: whenever you start to doubt your asexuality, all you have to do is closely socialize with allosexuals for a bit, and the doubts will dissipate.

Supporting Lesboys means supporting:
1. Multigender Lesbian people using "Les" for their "Fem side" and "Boy" for their "Masc side"
2. GNC Women who like to be called "boy" for gender nonconformity
3. Trans Women and Transfems reclaiming being called a "boy"
4. Transmasc Lesbians reclaiming being called a "boy"
5. Trans Men who don't feel misgendered by the term "Lesbian" and/or feels like their attraction to women is still queer
6. He/Him lesbians reclaiming being called a "boy"
Support all of them, or support none of them.

QUEER LABELS VALIDITY & REQUIREMENTS MASTERPOST
have you ever wondered "is it okay for me to call myself this label?" "can i identify as [this] if im also [that]?" "is this identity valid?" or various similar sentiments?
well look no further! this post is compiling a list of specifications for different identities along with why you can or cant use certain labels along with other ones, so youll be able to make an informed decision on choosing your labels! (and not call yourself something thats very problematic and harmful to other queers)
As if!
you can do whatever you want forever <3
you know yourself best, only you can decide what labels fit your own experiences and identity :)
other people can offer their perspectives from their own experiences if you want to hear them to try to figure out what you relate to, but no identity has a universal experience! no one can tell you that you cant identify as something!
no one, i repeat NO ONE, ordains the details of queer labels and who can or cant identify as what, or if a label can be used at all or not! not even if they are of the identity theyre trying to enforce rules on!
just because some rando may walk up to the gate of a public park and begin trying to control who can or cant enter doesnt mean its their property!
go, be free and queer, even with the most complex and weird and confusing labels! nothing can tie you down! (unless youre into that)

the most common trait i see in aro/ace exclusionists is the fact that they treat aspec identities as neutral. like any other part of someones identity immediately wins out. if an aro person is sexually attracted to men, that attraction is the determining factor in if they are queer. theres just a total refusal to imagine that aromantic and asexual experiences are a major determining factor in the way we experience life
i think it just goes to show how little some people are willing to engage with a variety of aro and ace people and understand how they experience the world. lack of attraction is not neutral, our entire world is shaped around romantic and sexual attraction and relationships. i think a lot of them would genuinely be surprised at how similar gay and aspec experiences can be if they were willing to actually listen to us

I feel like LGBTQ+ identity politics would get a lot quieter if we could get rid of the idea that you can guess random people's sexual orientation.
That gay couple holding hands? One or both of them could be bi. Or you could be misgendering someone. Or they could simply be close friends that like to hold hands.
Less trying to guess people's identity and more waiting to see if they choose to tell you.

My identity is for myself and no one else. Stop mistaking your discomfort for harm. If you're uncomfortable, that's something YOU have to work out, preferably far away from me.

tired of seeing people hate on bi lesbians and gay girls while I as a trans person may not be able to access life saving healthcare in the state I live in. A lot of yall are being really quiet about that but verrrryyyy loud about things that hurt no one!! it's genuinely so annoying. Like trans people here in Florida, including CHILDREN, are losing access to trans Healthcare. Why is no one talking about it??? yall will complain online about some kid using neopronouns but you won't stand up for us trans individuals in red states??? and I don't wanna hear yall be like "you can worry about both things" because you can't! People are DYING. CHILDREN are being put in danger by this court ruling. Pick your fucking battles and for the love of God PICK THE IMPORTANT ONES.

recently encountered a post where someone said "gender is fluid but sexuality isn't". (they were talking about bi lesbians.)
my first thought was: does that person, like. hear what they're saying? how can you explicitly hold two beliefs that are so logically inconsistent and not see it? how can you simultaneously think gender is this fluid and complex thing, but sexuality, much of which is defined around gender, is simple and stationary and its boundaries need policing?
but like, fuck, why even argue against it, right? there is no internal logic because there is no logical thought behind it. these are not genuine beliefs. this person is repeating what is currently acceptable in their (small) specific social circle. this is the same person who, a few years back, would be excluding nonbinary lesbians, but nonbinary lesbians are cool and normal on queer tumblr now, so they'll exclude bi lesbians instead, and not even pause to reflect on the difference.
oh, and if you read this and thought "these people don't even actually accept nb lesbians either", ding ding ding! because it's not a real, deep belief, that acceptance is extremely shallow and conditional. so as soon as someone is an nb lesbian in a way these people find odd (like being both a man and a lesbian) they will exclude them too and find a way to justify it.
why do we have to endlessly go through this cycle with queer identities. can we not? can we just not. i'm tired.
