i wish we had gotten more of kugisaki nobara. i just watched dis vid and all my contained RAGE abt dis topic suddenly HIT ME LIKE A TRAIN GOD IM UPSET

ive talked like 32893882 times already (and its still NOT ENOUGH) abt how upset i was abt nobara's death cos she was such a good character, with so much potential!! i really REALLY liked her. she was funny, strong, confident and kind!!!! i loved her char design!! her cursed technique and weapon were cool as hell!!!!!!

and her (recently SOMEWHAT(?) confirmed(?)) death sucked so fucking much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

she was just. fucking fridged. as much as it pains me to admit it. from a narrative standpoint, she died so yuuji would get upset and further develop his character & then move the plot along. even mahito admits that he wants her to die to make yuuji suffer. like yeah he also recognizes her a strong opponent (ofc. cos she is) but at the end of the day he wanted to kill her just to wreck yuuji. and he succeded.

nobara has no say on the way she dies. she's just.. slapped, kinda. its so sudden. its so... weird. not that she's accepting of it (we already know that she knows she can die at any moment and she's ready for it (cos she's a freak like the rest of the sorcerers lol)), but its weird bc its like its not a personal moment for her. yeah we get a flashback & her speech about how, even tho she always was a person who refused to let other people affect the way she is and decides to live, there still are people who, by being accepting of her, managed to gain a place in her heart... and she's happy for that. its rly beautiful.

but its the impact her death has on yuuji what the story really cares about here.

and like. thats fine! im not even saying killing nobara is a bad choice or that its bad if her death also developed yuuji's character. but the way it was done, its like her death only had that purpose. its a way too transparent device, that's what i dislike abt it. i dont mind being upset bc a character i love dies? i like feeling strong emotions when i engage emotionally with art/stories.

but i think she was killed off too soon. we didn't get to properly say goodbye to her. both her character arc and her death were rushed.

she could have been developed so much more! it feels like she was taken away way too soon in the story. i wanted her to fight sukuna along the others. i wanted her to use her cool technique to help yuuji nail sukuna's soul. i wanted to see just how much stronger she could get. i wanted her to finally meet saori. I WANTED HER TO HAVE A COOL EYE PATCH!!!!!!!!!!!

why is she barely mentioned after she dies??? she was one of the 3 main, dude, are u kidding me? yuuji's the only one who mentions her but he's almost afraid of talking about her. its like the whole world forgot about her!!!!! and what about maki?????? werent they girlfriends?

what is nobara's LEGACY? why did gege not make her death matter in the narrative? even if she (for whatever reason) came back(??) at the end, id still be rly mad & sad abt it cos i wanted to see her DO STUFF!! i wanted to see her kick some ass!!!! i wanted to see her grow!!!!! to open up with others!!!!! me, stupidly and weirdly resistant to listening to audio books vs reading a physical book for no real reason: man i wish there was a way to like, read a book while i crochet like i do with tv shows and movies and podcasts

Globe is a mage, cause why not? We get to see her cast spells, and learn new ones along the journey — her charm is probably going to be the first one to break if she's not careful.

She's not an experienced mage, but she's alright. Some of her spells go wrong, and during battles, she can cause harm to herself instead of the opponent.

Her powers are usually for healing, so she doesn't know many combat spells — that's what she's trying to learn, along with surviving along the road.

Grenade is a bandit, but a very clumsy one — sure, they're great at what they do, but they leave traces behind when they steal from a village.

They're part of a large group of people, who are also bandits/thief's, who all steal from the unknowing villagers and their market stalls, livingv in a pretty wealthy place.

Grenade is usually hanging around the outskirts of town, near the bridge. They have a charm, simply because it was stolen from the previous owner.

Their skills are more.. physical. The combat side of things, if you will. They're a great fighter, but need to be careful when it comes to knowing when to fight.

Pot is an elf — they carry a satchel filled with things that they've collected on the journey, along with a dagger for protection. The dagger has their charm on it, the shape of a leaf.

She also carry potions in their satchel, and when attacked, they use these to their advantage. Some have poisonous gas, while others do not.

Pot owns a market stand in the village he's from, and is pretty well liked from what we know, earning a good few gold coins in the process!

Debit Card & Wicker Basket are fairies — both carrying wands of their own. They fly around the forest, making sure it's nice and safe.

Wicker Baskets spells are on the nature side, used to grow plants, while also good for combat. She can use vines to wrap up her opponents.

Debit Card, on the other hand, uses his spells for things like commanding animals to attack the opponent at hand.

Combined, their charms are a flower and a bird.

Scroll is an Archer. He's not got much on his plate, but he has a good heart. He often helps around the local bakery, making sure the village is alright.

His skills are pretty good — while he can't work with a sword, he knows his way around a good bow and arrow, and can hit anyone with.. a good amount of perfection.

On the waters, we're greeted to a siren — a siren known as Purse, of course! She lures people into the water, before taking them as her own and sending them to die.

Her motives are clear, and most avoid sailing because of her reign over the other ocean dwellers.

Ripping out her heart is the only way to get rid of her — once it's done, the ocean is free from the chains she's left them in.

I love thriftbooks so much. My gf and I finally got a new bookshelf for our bedroom and there's a lot of extra space on it so I decided to try and fill in the gaps in my collection of warrior cats books from my childhood. I needed 8 books in total and I just found ALL of them in "very good" condition for a total of only $35 (with free shipping!)

#if you dont care whether your books are pre-owned they are SO good. everything is so affordable #sometimes you can even get 'like new' condition where its been read before but you cant even tell #or even brand new ones that have never even been read once #personally i like the 'very good' condition for most of my books #like if im buying a copy of a book i read as a kid for example then like i want it to match the other books i have from my childhood #also the reason i dont have these specific warrior cats books in the first place is bc i borrowed them from the library #so it kinda feels right to buy them pre-owned now #also sometimes it gives me this really cool feeling of like being connected to someone ive never met #like i got my books about judaism from thriftbooks and one of them in particular was in 'good' condition #(which allows for minimal writing on the pages)#and theres multiple places throughout the book where the previous owner underlined certain lines in pencil #and its just really cool to me to see what lines the previous person who read this book thought were important #it makes me pause and consider those lines to figure out if theyre important to me too #im also looking into getting more copies of the locked tomb series (specifically i want a hardcover and paperback of each book)#but i wanted them new so i originally went to b&n bc i know its rare for thriftbooks to have books in 'new' condition #even with b&n having a sale tho they we SO expensive #just buying gtn in hardback was gonna cost almost as much as i paid thriftbooks for all of my warrior cats books combined #so i went to check if thriftbooks happened to have any 'new' condition copies of them and they do!!#they have 'new' copies of each of the books in the format i want them in! shouldve checked there first lol #rambling

I want to say he'd be really boring (as I drew him back in February of 2019 or something around then while dying at the beach) like so? But! I have a feeling he'd also be very okay with various additions?? like I would have given him a very boring coconut dagger attack because he's just too done in by the heat to want to do much else.

However, there's also the fun route of him just being very okay with heat despite not being used to it because he can simply regular his own temp due to ice. So that could lead to him having a mage build where he's just happy to not be working at running a kingdom and it's like... him making fun ice magic at the beach to represent either his siblings and Nifl or something? Or giving him a big hat like Nifl has would be fun, too.

I don't honestly know what I like more,,, him dying to the heat or being absolutely thrilled the heat doesn't actually bother him much. (in 2019 he was very much dying though)
