I feel like shipping House and Wilson, for me, is not actually shipping them. I don't actually want more than is canon. I want them to have this deeply uncomfortable, absolutely queer, but never confirmed as actually together relationship. I want them to be just as confused as everyone else about whether or not they're together. House and Wilson should never be on the same page. House should think they're practically married and then absolutely sabotage everything while Wilson thinks they've never been further apart and is trying to bring them back together and they both fuck everything up and are never kind to each other. They should never be on the same page. They ride off into the sunset together never knowing if they're actually together.

One of the unintended consequences of House sticking a knife in a electrical socket is that Cuddy and Wilson know that she and Chase are - well, she's not really sure about the appropriate word for it, but sort of friends with House. They'd apparently been a little too concerned about him when they'd burst into his hospital room and Wilson had figured it out.

One of them could be excused as either her infatuation or Chase's hero worship, but them coming in together implied a mutual relationship that they weren't bothering to hide from each other, and so that meant that they and House were getting along and he'd been lying to them since almost the beginning.

She hopes neither she nor Chase ever become quite that good at getting into House's head as Wilson. Learning how to think like House does probably has made Wilson a better doctor, but it's also driven him insane.

Wilson isn't happy that they're getting along.

"He's jealous," Chase corrects when she brings it up. "Cuddy is too, but she's better at hiding it. They're used to being the only people that can put up with him and the security that provides."

That's deranged. Also, "We've been putting up with him for years."

"We were paid for it," he says, lips twitching. "Now we do it for free."
