YUPPPP
I need them to do a reboot of House but I want them to just go fucking wild with it. Everyone's gay, everyone's fucking. House, Wilson, and Cuddy are in a toxic polycule, one that definitely violates work ethics, that ends when Cuddy cheats on them with Cameron. I want it to be just as homophobic, just as ableist, just as fucked up, as the original and yet have the characters all be so fucking woke. Same episodes with the same plots but modern. I want Chase to have an onlyfans.

Thinking about House doing that thing where he whistles to get someone's attention but the thing is it only works on chase and Wilson and both of them just stare at eachother for a second
no yeah this is just canon I believe

This is such a good take I love posts like this
Tumblr media
This unironically goes hard.
House stands out from the rest, not just by his physical manifestation (refusal to wear a lab coat, his unprofessional and messy clothing, the cane (as he perceives it to be), his stubble and unstyled hair, etc) but also through his unorthodox methods of medicine and his unique perception of life and the medical field as a whole. The light being on him, the only figure wearing dark colors in a group of people in white scrubs, is like saying (in Wilson’s own words), despite all the prickly takes on medicine and people and life, and despite his misery which he often pushes onto others, “he’s a net positive force on this world.”
He looks, and is, angry. But he’s not just angry. Sometime in season six, when Marcus was hired, Wilson spends an episode claiming House has nice motives despite playing it off to be rude and antagonistic. But when Wilson leaves the office at the entrance of two fellows, he says, “Your boss is secretly a nice guy.” And Taub, instantly, says, “I know.”
There’s no debate that House is different, that he’s an asshole, that his approach to medicine hurts as well as helps. But that’s what makes him so good. Wanting pure motives out of everyone is naive, and House does not have pure motives throughout most of the show—again, the only one wearing dark colors in this image—but he does good. He stands with the others doctors, but he’s the only one looking into the screen. He doesn’t conform, and that’s why everyone hates him, and that’s why he’s so necessary. He challenges beliefs and he is offensive and he makes mistakes but he does good. It’s almost more impressive that he’s such a positive influence on others despite lacking completely innocent intentions (not to be confused with good intentions).

Is another similarity between House and Chase that people have low/no expectations of them? Not across the board, and maybe not all the time, but enough to be kind of a vibe?
Just re-watched Words and Deeds and House's "People in my life have no expectations of me" made me think of when Cameron suspects Chase of sabotaging Foreman's interview in The Jerk and his response is, "So everyone's a suspect because everyone wants to help House. Except for me. I'm a suspect because I'm a petty, vindictive jerk?"
The question about people having no expectations also reminded me that House doesn't seem to think Chase is morally worse than anyone else. He says "All [Chase] did was save his job" in Kids when he and Wilson are talking about Chase and Vogler, and then takes a similar line about Foreman when Cameron and Wilson approach him about Foreman publishing an article about the same case Cameron was trying to get a publication out of. House tells Cameron, "Foreman did what he did because it worked out best that way for him. That's what everyone does."
I put some of the conversations from Sleeping Dogs Lie and an excerpt from Heavy under the cut.
In Sleeping Dogs Lie, there's this exchange between House and Cameron:
Cameron: Is this just one of your experiments? You just wanted to see how I'd react to being screwed over by Foreman? House: Nice idea, but no. This was just good old-fashioned laziness. I gotta hand it to Foreman though, he knew that you were a suck up and I don't give a crap. He successfully exploited us both.
And then later in the conversation, there's:
House: You on the other hand, continue to be flabbergasted every time someone actually acts like a human being. Foreman did what he did because it worked out best that way for him. That's what everyone does.
When Wilson approaches him about it, House says: "I could be the kindest gentlest boss in the world, and Foreman still would have done what he did because that's who he is."
In Heavy, House says this in the conversation about Foreman choosing Chase to be fired:
Foreman: You thought I’d pick Cameron? House: I didn’t think you’d pick at all.
And then House says this to Wilson about Foreman:
House: I guess he’s not the “rise above the fray” guy he likes to think he is. Wilson: You practically forced it out of him. House: He’s scared of losing his job, just like everyone else.
Anyway, this has been, "Long Thoughts About How Maybe People Don't Expect Much Out of Chase and House but House Kinda Talks About Foreman and Chase in a Similar Way and Says Everyone is Like This."

hear me outs are not for conventionally attractive people. Atp not liking chase is grounds for a hear me out.
saw someone on pinterest saying 'hear me out' on a photo of chase AS IF HE ISNT THE MOST CONVENTIONALLY ATTRACTIVE MAN EVER?? there are multiple plotlines that are just about him being hot and women not caring about his personality because he's pretty. you cant say hear me out about someone like that
