Religion and Plurality - Some general tips
I was reading some articles earlier and realised that there's very few general resources regarding possible religious clashes ,and the general day-to-day communication within polyreligious systems. Bearing in mind this is all objective advice from our own experiences, and certain aspects won't apply to all systems.
General tips:
If any alter has specific religious daily rites or phrases that need to be spoken (all the Abrahamic religions include such phrases and rites, but they occur in other religions too), discuss with the system surrounding what protocol is regarding this.
Setting up a ''religion station'' if you live in a situation where that's possible can be helpful to keep track of everything and provide a space for all your alters to practise safely.
If you have a personal calendar, encourage alters to write down any rites/rituals they need taken care of in the event they aren't fronting.
Subtlety and safety:
If you're bodily in a situation where you feel obliged or pressured to take part in certain religious ceremonies and everyday rites, discuss this with the system and explain the situation. It's always better to choose discomfort over a potentially unsafe situation, generally - but this will be a system-wide decision.
If different members of the system practise different 'structured' religions, look into online worship or religious online communities. All the major religions have easily accessible platforms that you can access discreetly, and all religious holy books can be found for free via google.
If you're still in school, if caught practising something outside of your bodily culture, a good excuse can be that you're researching for a project or culture day.
For Wiccans and witchcraft practitioners, checking the ''broom closet'' tags on tumblr or elsewhere can be a lifesaver - they're full of tips for those who wish to practise discreetly.
If you have alters with different religious dietary needs, vegetarianism can be a good solution - it covers most major religion's dietary needs, and can help cover up any 'inconsistencies'' to the outside world (ie. one headmate eating pork, one eating halal or another keeping kosher.)
For religious pendants/charms, a piece of paper with the relevant symbol can make a placeholder that's easy to destroy in a pinch.
Conclusion:
This will likely be updated as I think of more tips and tricks, if anyone wants to recommend anything, or ask for any specific advice, just let us know.

a lot of posts about headspaces fall into a couple of categories: discourse (therapy device vs real emotional experience), advice (tips for building a headspace), or positivity. it leaves myself feeling a bit alienated as a system who doesnt have a headspace by choice.
i know for myself, the effort it takes to build one is better spent on other goals for my system. it sometimes feels like headspace is trotted around as the Main System Thing that every system should have and aspire to have, but i’ve picked up some other tips to cover some of the bases that a headspace also covers.
these tips might not be accessible for everyone and might not work for everyone, but these are tips i got from friends who are also systems and my therapist who is a system. take what you need and leave what you dont :)
having a safe irl space for parts to feel comfortable existing in
having safe irl hobbies for parts to use as outlets when needed
visualizing my parts existing in the space around me instead of in a headspace area, especially when trying to communicate with them
this isnt something i do, but having objects (stuffed animals, toys, etc.) that you can “project” your parts onto when communicating
having conversations with parts while looking in a mirror (helps with making responses feel less forced/coaxed out)
having mundane things for parts to do when they front to help them feel more comfortable
having many many many grounding objects/fidgets available for parts who may need help feeling attached to my current place in life
having safe system friends that make parts feel comfortable in self identifying and dont pressure us to introduce each part
having a journal/place to log memories when they appear. for us, it usually ends up being art rather than actual written journal entries
#plural#system#sysblr#multiplicity#did system#osdd system#sysconversation#oakley#these tips might be geared more towards cdd systems/disorder systems#but a lot of these tips were given to me from my endogenic friends so i have no doubt that these would work/help non disordered systems too!#for the projection tip i have not personally done it and im not really involved in communities like it#but i would recommend looking into poisc(?) communities for advice#feel free to add any other tips you have onto this post as well :)#headspace

How do I become plural and/or programmed? I want to soso bad :[
hai !! thanx for asking !
here’s my personal compilation of trans - plural , tris - plural , willo - genic , etc. tips !!!! i hope they are helpful ! (^ω^)
1st . yu need to dissociate . like , a lot . if yu don’t already dissociate , try forcing it . zoning out and convincing yurself yu aren’t . . yu , is helpful . depersonalization , which is the disconnect between the mind and body , in particular is rlly important ( but derealization works too ) . depersonalization is the building block of everything .
2nd . yu need to be creative . make up headmates ( or use bah blogs { i have one ,, go follow @bahfreak ;3 } ) and pretend to be them . fake it ‘til you make it is really helpful here ! assign them roles and front triggers so yu know when to act as them .
3rd . exaggerate symptoms . convince yurself yu don’t remember certain aspects of yurself , yur items , people yu should know , skills yu should have , etcétera !!! doing research on multiplicity / osddid is also important so yu know what symptoms to act out . it’s easier if yu fake symptoms yu already have and make them a bigger ordeal !
4th . imagine / pretend . think of yur desired headmates as already being present . make spotify playlists , tumblr blogs , pinterest boards , pluralkit members , and more !! if yu see something a headmate would like , tell yurself that . convince yurself they are real .
5th . use inspiration . look at other systems ; how do their alters act ? how different are they ? what are their inner - worlds like ? remember , every system is different , so yu can do whatever yu want !!! inspiration is just helpful to get yur creative juices flowing !
that’s all i have at the moment . . . for being trans - programmed , i would have to get back to yu later on that . im not as informed about programs , but these tips should help there as well .
research , pretend , make it real .
i wish yu luck , anon !!!

Writing tip: if it feels like one of your characters just doesn't have enough going on in their arc, ask yourself if this problem would be fixed by them discovering that they're actually a system. Or by them becoming a system – either works. Plurality is a surefire spice of life in stories, after all!

System tips! (Anti-Endos DNI)
How do I tell if I’m a system?
Okay, so! It can help to find out more about how different systems work, Pluralpedia on fandom wiki (I know, I know…) is a really great resource and it can really help to look at different system consciousness types, different levels of blurriness, etc. There are also absolutely some system symptoms, here are just a few I don’t really see many people mentioning:
- Making different accounts on social medias, chat apps, etc which interact with your friends and one another, especially if they have distinct mannerisms
- Being able to get into conversations with yourself
- Having conflicting ideas, pet peeves, etc
One really great tip is to just… try out the label and treat yourself like a system for a bit. This is what helped us figure it out! Another tip is to sort of talk to yourself internally for a bit. No, seriously! Like, ask a question in your head, for example; “What’s your name?” “What pronouns do you use?” et cetera! You hear a response, you’re probably a system! There’s more tips about this online that you can find, I’m not too experienced with this. Lol
I think I’m a system, now what?
The first thing you’ll probably want to do is to get the basics down. Get a count of how many headmates/alters you have. Have everyone write down basic info about themselves, name, pronouns, etc. You can do this on paper, but there’s also a really helpful mobile app called Simply Plural, it’s an organization tool.
Stay away from anti endo spaces, very important! It’s best to keep to the spaces that are explicitly pro endo and to stay away from the spaces that don’t give any disclosure as to where they stand.
Whatever you want to do! If you’d like, you could just relax for a bit with your new(ish) internal friends.
How do I communicate with nonverbal alters/headmates?
I’m adding this here because this was a question we had back in the day that we couldn’t find an answer to. Nonverbal peeps have all sorts of different ways of communicating, just like nonverbal singlets! Sometimes they can beam emotions at others, sometimes it’s physical sensations. They can probably write if you can bring them into front, so that’s also an option!

transDiD / transPlural tips from a CisDiD system !!!
[antis will be blocked, i dont care to hear your nonsense!!!!]
gonna start this off by saying while we are traumagenic in origin , we have a lot of willogenic headmates too !!! we have formed alters out of free will and you can too :))
1) fake it till you make it; probably one youve heard and lot but its good !!! make a simply plural and start logging alters, talk to them and respond how they would, talk about your system to people, start a system journal !!!
2) dont self sabotage; this will not help you at all,, you are not "faking" , you are a real system, talk abiut your system like it already exists and it will help
3) subliminals; listen to DiD subliminals on youtube ; however check the descriptions to make sure theyre endo friendly as theres unfortunately people who put anti endo messages in their subs :(( !! also drink lots of water and stop if you get a really bad headache !!
4) community; try and talk to other systems ! its good to have friends like you around you and could help you transition
5) force dissociation; make yourself dissociate, make it to where you forget chunks of your day; even if you dont actually forget it, pretend you do. eventually you will.
6) practice makes perfect; talk to your headmates every day, communicate with them, write something to them, edit the simply plural, do something related to your system every day!!!
thats all i have :)) make sure to stay safe !!!

Tip for if you're blurry/can't tell who's fronting/can't figure out who a new member is: the website same.energy is really helpful for us! We usually look through the "variety" page until an image feels right. It helps narrow it down, or at least figure out some information.
The site is kind of broken, so the only pages that work are "Variety" and searching. ("Variety" won't show up unless you type something in the search bar and then delete it again.)
Be warned that the site can have images of pretty much anything, including slight NSFW/nudity and blood/gore/anatomy (the more graphic images of both should be blurred unless you change your tag preferences), creepy/scary images, weapons, trypophobia, distorted faces, eyes, etc. Tread with caution. Most of the variety page should be fairly safe though.

MaDD and plurality
okay so we're MaDD, right?? and we're also plural??
NOBODY talks about how freaking hard that makes communicating omg.
constantly i'll be trying to talk to someone and then i drift off and suddenly they are completely drowned out OR they're ALSO daydreaming!! it's so frustrating, because it means that to even semi-effectively communicate, i have to talk out loud. if i have to communicate something important and we're in a public place i just have to focus REALLY hard on internal communication and it sometimes STILL doesnt work.
on top of that, we have ADHD so it's even harder, and talking out loud still doesn't work that well because without another person physically here to snap me back to reality whenever i'm daydreaming, if i start daydreaming, i'm just stuck until i realize, which can be anywhere from within a minute to literally 20+ minutes. usually they're able to get my attention by that time, but it's hard because our communication is not easy for anyone but the host(me, who is ALWAYS fronting) to initiate, so unless i actively open myself to communicate with them, it's hard for them to get my attention. sometimes my daydreams even last hours, but that usually doesn't happen when i'm not actively deciding to daydream. so yeah, it's really difficult because i've already got issues focusing, and adding basically irresistable urges to daydream at random that get triggered way too easily on top of that, inner communication is SO HARD.
anyways, this makes making a tulpa really fucking difficult because forcing is really hard.
but here are my tips, for other MaDD, especially anyone making a headmate/alter/tulpa/parogen/whatever themself -
incorporate your daydreaming into the communicating/forcing. like daydream you and that alter hanging out and then communicate via that. this does not ensure that you won't start daydreaming about anything else, but it lessens the chances. if you try to force yourself to not daydream at ALL the urges are gonna be much harder to ignore, at least for me. if you're ALREADY daydreaming, and it gets interesting enough, minor distractions are gonna catch your attention less and less because you WANNA focus on this one daydream. it becomes much more enjoyable.
this kind of like the last one, but this is more specific to tulpa/parogen forcing. don't really view it as a chore, which i've accidentally been doing more and more. not a chore i dislike, but i've been viewing it like something i have to do every single day for x amount of time other wise it wont work and it'll fail horribly and everything will be ruined, when it shouldn't need to be that. it shouldn't be on a to-do list, unless that really works for you(which if that's the case that's freaking awesome and you should probably ignore this tip). idk about everyone else, but it's much easier for me to daydream if i'm treating something like something i need to do because it's so much more tempting to just go live somewhere else for a minute while i do things i need to do. i often daydream doing chores because it's not interesting enough to keep me grounded. so, to make sure it gets done, i drift off while i'm doing it, so i am doing it in the real world but to me i'm in another world or in one of my stories. but for forcing, to be able to do it, you HAVE to be constantly aware and present. if you view it like you're just having a fun little conversation with them, it becomes like whenever you're bored or lonely just like you would reach out to a friend, but instead you're getting some talking to your head friend in. even if it's not traditional forcing, it works and develops them more, even if it's just a bit here and there. idk about everyone else, but i think partially because of my ADHD and partially because of my MaDD, whenever i have a chore i need to do i kind of put it off if i'm already doing something. i don't really *want* to put it off, but i just can't get my body to move. especially when I'm daydreaming. because, why would i get up and do the boring thing when i can watch my story in my head ? it's so much easier to sit and do nothing. but as we all know, that ADHD paralysis is so so SO stress inducing, the best option is to always get up and try to force yourself to. idk if non-ADHD MaDD will relate at all though, because that paralysis is mostly exclusive to those with ADHD afaik, but for me, my MaDD makes it much worse. anyways, that probably didn't make much sense sorry
write down what everyone is saying. this makes it much easier to keep track of what they are saying and stay present, but it also documents the conversation as well. so even if you weren't that present during the conversation, or you're worried you'll forget something important, you'll have a record to read back on later if you need! and also with created alters/headmates, keeping track of their progress is always incredibly important!!
don't listen to music! this one might be a bit of a given but unless it's like instrumental music that you genuinely won't pay that much attention to but still helps you focus, DON'T listen to it. songs are an easy gateway into a daydream. ESPECIALLY songs with lyrics, even ones that you can't understand because they're in another language, which by the way for literally any other thing you need to focus on, that's a great tip, listening to music in other languages, because you can still focus with interesting music in the background but the lyrics arent grabbing you at all. anyways back to plural-related MaDD tips, yeah, don't listen to music. even if that song usually doesn't catch your attention. for me, if i'm talking, internally or externally, and there's music with lyrics playing, i reallyyy cannot focus on what i'm(or others, again, internally or externally) are saying. idk, might just be some sort of auditory processing issue related to my ADHD but i cannot focus on it, and because it's hard, i just need to pick one, and sometimes my brain picks the song and i just. stop talking. and start daydreaming.
idk what to do if you're not fronting and trying to communicate with whoever is fronting, because i've not switched(like i mentioned before, the host, who is me, has never not been the one fronting), but if anyone has any other tips either related to that or the ones i already have here, please feel free to let me know because i'd love to hear them and i'm sure others do too!! anyways, i hope i helped, idk this might be too specific to me.

Tips for source separating!!
Find things you identify with in this universe, like clothes, aesthetics, or hobbies!
Try to make new friends to help with missing sourcemates
Talk to other headmates about the body's memories to form a connection to your current life
Try to find things that are familiar to source and things that are different- what can you enjoy that reminds you of home, and what can you enjoy that's new?
Don't blindly romanticize your source. It's easy to love something once it's gone, but just like here, sources usually have good and bad parts.
Acknowledge that you can not go back to source, and that that's okay.
