If you are in any online spaces that discuss the morality of fiction or its censorship, please keep the following in mind:

CSAM refers to Child Sexual Abuse Material. This is a term that was created for use by US federal law enforcement. As such, it is important to remember that this is a term used specifically to describe illegal sexual content that is produced involving real children. the term CSAM was specifically constructed to highlight the trauma these victims experience because of this abuse, and therefore their humanity.

if you come across CSAM online, you should immediately report it to a tip line. Some websites that host their servers in the US are subject to US federal law even if the person who posted it does not currently reside in the US, so keep that in mind when reporting. again, this is involving CSAM - it is illegal sexual content involving real children.

CSEM refers to Child Sexual Exploitation Material. This is material that involves a real child in a sexualized situation, but either 1- the material itself is not illegal to possess, or 2- the material is not sexualized, but is included in a series or other content that does contain CSAM. Think along the lines or a parent with a few too many photos of their child in the bath. These images are not explicitly sexual, and are not illegal in and of themselves, but they can be used exploitatively.

If you come across CSEM online, it's still a good idea to send in a tip as well as alerting the website it was posted on. Even if the content itself isn't technically illegal, some websites do have strict rules regarding nudity and the sexualization of minors, which can help stop the spread of such materials and reduce the impact on the affected child.

CSAM and CSEM are words used to describe the assault, abuse, sexualization, and exploitation of real children. CSAM, specifically, is used as a way to identify and remove these materials.

CSAM and CSEM do not apply to fiction. They don't apply to any fictionalized or simulated child abuse or sexualized children. They only refer to real children.

Do not send in tips about fictionalized child abuse or sexualized children to tip lines meant to be used for CSAM.

Do not use the words CSAM and CSEM when discussing fictionalized child abuse or sexualized children. In a worst case scenario, it leads to people misusing tip lines due to a conflation of CSAM with fictionalized depictions.

In a more likely scenario, using CSAM to refer to fiction minimizes what CSAM was created to do - which was highlight the trauma experienced by survivors, and therefore draw attention to their humanity. By continuing to use these terms in situations that do not involve real people, it reduces that impact.

Wanting to place the blame for the stigma around systemhood and other negative things like harassment onto certain systems is not surprising, wanting to point fingers or trying to make The Haters seem reasonable happens all the time.

Having a type of system to point at and say "they are the reason there are people shitty about systems" is way of making sense of why people are anti-system, it's giving them a logical sound reason for being that way about systems.

Otherwise you're left with the fact it's only the fault of the people who are like that about systems, as in the fakeclaimers are at fault for their own actions and belief system, the people who mock their friends who are systems are at fault for being jerks, and the people who "no longer believe in DID" are at fault for "not believing in" a mental illness.

Which, I think to a lot of people is harder to imagine and accept.

If someone is vocally anti-system because of "cringe systems" or "fakers" (both concepts that no one can seem to agree on) , then that's on them. They are still choosing to be anti-system, they are choosing to fakeclaim, they are choosing to spread anti-system ideas and beliefs. People are responsible for themselves and the potentially harmful ideas and beliefs they may hold.

There's something to be said about the difference in Nomai vs Hearthian technology where the Nomai use gravity and light as their main source and their spaceships only ever go forward with not much control once takeoff happens.

Whereas Hearthian technology (that isn't based on Noamian) is mainly oxygen, fire and heat (and water) based and they have developed the ability to fly backwards and in every which direction (retro rockets ftw) and have a lowered sense of danger.

All this is probably a byproduct of the way they live. Hearthians live in an oxygen, wood and water rich environment, can move freely and safely through it and have developed a culture based around the campfire, mulled wine marshmallows and all. The Nomai live in the void of space, used to limited air, limited movement, finding solutions to circumvent those. Hell they chose to settle on the two most precarious planets rather than resettle on Timber Hearth or Giants Deep once they could because they can't fathom the privilege of flourishing because of an abundance of resources and not their own ingenuity.

Something something something they balance each other out in terms of drive and creativity (both having both but different types)

The Nomai may have developed the technology to go back in time to solve their Eye problem but I bet only the Hearthians would have been able to figure out a way to power it sufficiently (exploding the sun or otherwise)

Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.

If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.

Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.
