lance and keith can both make food, but lance cooks better. ive seen so many people go “lance cant cook” “keith can cook lance hardly can” BLAU BLAH BLAH!!!!!! lance can cook legitimate food, shit that’ll make you want more like he is WIFEY material. this man is an angel, an absolute master of cooking. desserts? that… doesnt matter. he can make basic stuff, but the elaborate things? hardly. (hunk helps him out most of the time when it comes 2 that, he is a god send.)

keith makes STRUGGLE MEALS. this boy will grab a soft tortilla, slap some ketchup, cheese, and then microwave it and call it a “pizza wrap”. he genuinely thinks its the best thing ever. if ur ever in a survival situation and u need edible food, hes ur guy. hes got that. but he cant really cook legitimate food for shit. he will make a basic sandwich, serve it to lance, and then call himself “housewife material”. he microwaves his tea. makes his hot chocolate with water. drinks sink water. what is wrong with him, no one fucking knows!!!!!!

No, Westeros isn't an absolute monarchy it's a medieval vassalage and the king's word is only law when he can enforce it. Rhaenyra's - I like her book character not so much the show where they white washed her - children aren't legitimate just because the king and the Velaryon's pretend they are. Blood and legality are inextricably linked in this world - it was made pretty obvious in the main series of books.

Now, some people will argue that it's fine that her kid's aren't Laenors because their claim comes through her. The thing is

a) people can only have a claim when they're trueborn/legitimised by royal decree. Example: If a bastard of House Mooton said that his bastardy didn't matter and that he could press his claim to lordship of Maidenpool because it rests solely on the fact that he has his lordly father's blood, irrespective of legitimacy, people would laugh at him.

You need to be trueborn as well, because then what would stop bastards with noble blood from attempting to usurp their noble family's inheritance? Noble blood and being trueborn is what makes a claim, elsewise we could argue that even dragon-seed's have a right to the throne.

b) this whole line of argument ignores the dynastic reasons behind Rhaenyra's marriage to her cousin Laenor. It was to combine both of their powerful claims to the throne. Laenor was the son of Rhaenys, who under Andal Law, had more right to the throne than Viserys. Viserys hoped that by marrying Rhaenyra to Laenor he could bolster her children's claim to the throne.

Combining the two powerful claims - and prior to Viserys's kingship Laenor's claim was more powerful that Rhaenyra's and arguably after - was the entire purpose of the marriage. If they'd produced trueborn children those kids would've have been able to assert their claim to the Iron Throne because of both their mothers - and crucially as much as the fandom likes to ignore this - their father's blood.

This is what I think and what I believe the source material to be telling us. You've a right to agree or disagree but PLEASE keep it respectful. No, I don't hate TB stans I just really disagree with them but that shouldn't stop us from having a polite conversation, right?

I don't think I hate Nico and Will Solace as a couple, but it's pretty hard to hate a character who you barely know. Oh trust me, I can do it. If I go looking for negative posts, i'm so indecisive that i'd probably enter a temporary hatred phase (before going back to not minding the character, and then having to beg forgiveness). Because I am indecisive, and I can sometimes swing from loving someone to hating them to loving them again.

But legitimately: as someone who pretty much only read PJO and HOO (Skipping the last two books in the TOA series), Will Solace is one of those minor characters I never expect to care much about. Like most of the camp half blood characters who we see very little of, he's just a character I look at without much love in my tone. No offense meant. Please don't take that the wrong way! Let me try to explain.

Will Solace really only shows up twice in the Heroes of Olympus series. Once in the Lost Hero, where he leads Leo to the Hephaestus cabin. And then he suddenly becomes a prominent supporting character for the last 80 pages of the Blood of Olympus. I love Rick Riordan's writing (like 85 percent of the time), but even you can see that this is sort of abrupt. Making a character we barely know become super important just in time for the end of the story makes him feel tacked on at the end. All I really know is that he's blond, reminds nico of jason grace, and he's a healer. Those are the three traits i've picked up on. So now maybe you see my problem?

This is why I prefer Jason and Nico more, I think. Those two at least had some more narratively cohesive bonding. They had their intimate moment when Cupid forcibly outed Nico, and they've been close ever since. Even though they're not in any scenes together in most (if not all) of the Blood of Olympus, they mention each other a lot. There's more of a cohesive build towards romance here.

Will and Nico works (I suppose), but it's abrupt, and it's lacking in any real signs that the two deeply care. I mean… again. Will's only in like the last 80 pages. How do you learn to love someone when they have that little focus? Also, Nico and Jason are outsiders at both Camps. Nico doesn't belong at Camp Half-Blood or Camp Jupiter. Jason doesn't really fit in at either place, too. So they have better parallels to me. Will and Nico don't have as much stuff for me to read into. It's just abrupt and fast and really unexpected.

like take the Cairn Maiden for example. a kind gentle god, doesn’t even demand any sacrifices, just wants to meet people at the place of their final rest and see them off, like that’s a very comforting, soothing notion.
