Why was Batman: The Animated Series so beloved? Seriously, I'd kill for Batman: The Brave and The Bold or The Batman (2004) to have it's popularity. Jeff Bennett or Kevin Michael Richardson need recognition for their Joker performances, damn it! Rino Romano and Diedrich Bader were both way better than Kevin Conroy! B:TAS had maybe two episodes I can't live without. Two-Face part 1, and Heart of Ice. The rest of their show (even at it's best) is fully disposable. But those other shows...they had at least 20 good episodes each, if not more. They were terrific shows, and I legitimately need to ask: is it unreasonable to ask for a video game based on them? A comic book continuation? A reunion movie? Literally f***ing anything!? Give these actors respect before it's too late! The guy who played Alfred for Batman (2004) is probably in his 70s, so give us more of him before we lose him. He's too good.
And give us more of Robert Englund as The Riddler. If he's still willing to do animated work that isn't about horror, please get him back. Robert Englund is like the one horror star I don't mind, mostly because he seems like a genuinely nice and funny guy (and because he did voice acting on a lot of shows I watched as a kid). His Vulture and Riddler continue to be remembered by me. Get me Kevin Michael Richardson back as The Joker. Tom Kenny has already done the Penguin more than once, but i'd still like him to come back and do the role again.
And The Brave and The Bold needs a movie too. We've already lost Paul Reubens as Bat-Mite, that should be a sign we need more content for that show. Remaster the old Wii game and port it to better consoles. Make a new miniseries set in the world of the brave and the bold. The show missed a lot of good obscure characters, and a miniseries (with potential to turn back into a full blown series) would give us time to address all these things. These pieces of media deserve it. They really do. They're all so good.

I love how one of the first things they do in the new Caped Crusader Batman show is send him to therapy- they really said this man is REPRESSED and when he tried to argue they were like no I know what you are and you need HELP

Ten Characters Art: #2, 3, 4 1960s Batman TV show villains The Bookworm (Roddy McDowall), The Joker (Cesar Romero) and The Penguin (Burgess Meredith). I was initially given the prompt of The Penguin from any media and I thought this would be a fun prompt to play with that escalated to me expanding beyond Penguin. Two arts in and @mischief-and-tea-by-the-sea suggested that I give The Bookworm a go, so this one is for you :) I hope you enjoy the art! Thanks to everyone who takes a look at my art :) I so appreciate the likes and the reblogs and the motivation to keep creating!

To commemorate international cat day (8 August), let’s celebrate the memory of Orangey (1950 - 1967). The late, great trained showbiz cat / animal actor boasted a prestigious and prolific résumé on film and TV that any thespian would envy. (And according to IMdB, Orangey was “the only feline double-winner of the Patsy Award, the animal kingdom's equivalent of the Oscar”). Orangey’s best-known work includes The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957), The Diary of Ann Frank (1959) and the scene-stealing role of “Cat” ("the poor slob without a name”) opposite Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)! Best of all, Orangey’s final television credit (aged 17) is appearing as the feline companion of Eartha Kitt’s Catwoman in two consecutive episodes of TV’s Batman in 1967 (pictured). Appropriately for a celebrity of his stature, he is interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood.

Why is he walking like that. WHY IS HE WALKING LIKE THAT I LOVE THIS FUCKING KID SO MUCH RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I can’t express how important the little scenes with Aunt Harriet, Alfred and the boys are to me, or even the little moments where Bruce gives him some advice. It’s literally the only thing keeping me going right now 😫
(And yes there’s a lot of uncomfortable sexualisation of the female actresses in like every episode) but this show is honestly very special
