I think a lot of tv execs forget that longevity pays. Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, Law and Order have all been going full seasons for 20+ years EACH. Even if they're cycling through different viewerships and casts they are still popular. Does every series need to be 22 episodes, probably not. But there's a reason miniseries used to be the exception and not the rule.
