Hey, if you have speech impediments, you are so amazing.

If you stutter or have a lisp or misspeak easily or you have a flat affect or a limited verbal vocabulary or if your voice is AAC or if you just have a difference in your vocality, you are so incredibly important and amazing.

Just know that your voice is yours. Nobody will ever be able to truly take it away. Your voice is part of you, and you deserve to make it as true to you as you deem fit. I hope you have the space to grow with your voice and whatever about it makes it unique.

(All these apply to others as well) What I learned from my experiences with depression:

1. We’re not a burden, nor are we much/too little to love or care about.

2. We’re not a waste of time, space, energy or care.

3. We don’t have to apologize for being alive, needing/using resources, or for struggling. (If you didn’t choose to have suffer, you’ve got nothing to apologize for.)

4. We’re allowed to have goodness, kindness, comfort and joy—yes, even if you don’t feel like you deserve it.

5. Our flaws do NOT mean we deserve to die, it just means we have things to work on. It doesn’t make us pathetic, it makes us human. The same applies to having needs.

6. We’re not alone in feeling unsatisfied or overwhelmed with the state of the world. However, the world’s problems are not caused by you, so you don’t have to feel guilty about it.

- It’s okay to focus on what you can control rather than what you can’t! Check the facts

7. You don’t have to wait until you feel better to make the effort* to take care of yourself. (*not to imply that taking care of yourself is based on effort alone. I know very well it’s not easy for a lotta other disabled folks.)

8. Don’t let your poor self image, your paranoia, your anxiety, or the voices convince you that you’re, “hated by all” or that you’re “unworthy/a disappointment”

9. If you worry about “ruining lives”, you’re most likely kinder than you realize.

10. As long as you’re alive, there’s always the chance that things can get better or easier.

11. It’s okay to feel lonely/depressed, even if you have good things in your life. It doesn’t make you ungrateful, depression and long term loneliness just aren’t “cured” right away.

Given in and paid for own wheelchair (meant to be on wait list for proper assessment for fitted one months ago, but referral wasn’t done properly so haven’t actually been put on list yet, so paying for own one because cannot wait that long, already been 10ish months)….

Excited because yay mobility, and is self propelled chair so not have rely on someone else get everywhere!! Less excited about costs because oh my gosh expensive (got cheapest one could find that still meet needs, still much monies). And also maybe mess up and pick one that need have wheels taken off to fit in cars/taxis… But it’s fine!! It’s so fine!! Mobility time yay!!! (Focusing on major positive and not the possible mess-up we made).

Have not worked out how will avoid damaging shoulder + wrist joints yet. But it’s all good, at least moving will be an option now 😸. Time to practice + get used to self propelling 😮.

With the stretches on it

That I always forget to do.

A metronome keeping time

Along with my probably too-fast heartbeat.
