THEN SHADOW LOOKS AT HIM BECAUSE HE FELT SONIC’S QUILLS POKE HIM. IN TIME TO SEE HIM BITE THE OTHER DOG. BUT SONIC ACCIDENTALLY MISSES AND POKES IT AGAINST HIS CHEEK.

AND THEN SHADOW SHAKES HIS HEAD BECAUSE HE WAS DISAPPOINTED AT SONIC’S STUPIDITY.

BUT HE WOULDN’T HAVE DONE THAT IF SONIC HADN’T ACCIDENTALLY POKED HIM WITH HIS QUILLS.

Y’know what, I'll take it. That barely-there implication is enough for me to speculate that Tails is going to be crucial in defeating Shadow and Eggman (when the team-up plan goes haywire as he warned) and I'm all here for it. I love clowning on the poor guy for getting absolutely smacked in the trailer, but I'm truly hoping he gets his chance to shine in the movie and stand toe-to-toe with team Sonic's foes in his own unique way. His intelligence is greatest strength, let him show it off!!
