You must pass the following quiz before you can reblog this post:
1. There are several existing adaptations and dubs of the popular 1990s manga âSailor Moonâ by Naoko Takeuchi. This image refers to:
a. the Japanese dub of Sailor Moon (aired 1992-1997)
b. the DiC English dub of Sailor Moon (aired 1995-2002)
c. the Viz Media English dub of Sailor Moon (released 2014-2019)
d. any dub of Sailor Moon Crystal (2014-2016)
2. What does the use of the word âlegallyâ mean in the context of the image? What would it mean to watch a show âillegallyâ? Can you reasonably expect the author of this post to have done their due diligence in fact-checking their claims before making this image?
3. Does the image attempt to pass any moral judgment on the original Sailor Moon dub? Would the âproblematicâ aspects of the dub have any bearing on the main point being argued by the post? Support your position with evidence from the document.
4. The original English dub of Sailor Moon aired in America at a time when anime was not commonly watched or aired in the US and was considered analogous to childrenâs cartoon programming. Imported dubbed anime was commonly censored in accordance with widespread moral and parental concerns of the time, which may not align with todayâs views. Why might someone choose to return to a dub from this time period? Might the dub have any personal or historical significance beyond how well it holds up upon review by a modern consumer? Should any conclusions be drawn by you, a stranger on the internet, about the morality of someone who may desire to watch or rewatch this dub?
5. Does any piece of media âdeserveâ to become lost? If so, who gets to decide what media is preserved and what should be lost, forgotten, or destroyed? What would those criteria be? Can you think of any ways that system may backfire or be used for censorship?
6. Are you familiar with the idiom âpissing on the poorâ?

New! We Need to Talk About Sex and ADHD
"When you think about Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, prevalent stereotypes might come to mind: trouble sitting still at school, issues with focusing on work, and impulsivity. While these are traits many people with ADHD possess (me included), ADHDers know that it can impact pretty much every part of your life â including sexâ . Since ADHD presents differently for different people, its effect on sexuality also differs from person to person. However, recent studies show that, when it comes to sex, there are many overlapping issues that ADHDers share... When I read through this research, I freaked. It explained so much about my own relationship patterns. My first thoughts were cynical: Does this mean Iâm broken? Can nothing be done? Reading this [new research], you might feel the same way. It can be scary to see challenges ADHD can present without knowing where to turn or seeing any positives. Before I knew how ADHD could affect relationships (or knew that I had ADHD to begin with), I felt like a freak. I felt awful for feeling bored in the bedroom, even with people that I genuinely loved and generally enjoyed having sex with. Even though I was diagnosed back in 2021, I am constantly discovering new things about ADHD, reshaping and readjusting whenever new information comes along... Itâs not all doom and gloom to have ADHD and a sexual life. For example, sexual curiosity and being more adventurous in the bedroom isnât a recipe for a breakup. Many people actively seek outâ partners who are down to experiment, and being open to new and different things when it comes to sex is something we know tends to enhance peopleâs sexual lives and connections, not hurt them. If you tend to get distracted or bored with sex, guess what? Thatâs fine too. No one else has to, and few people do, want sex all the time, anyway. Sex also isnât the only way to connect with each other or explore intimacy."

nervous system regulation.
this post is especially dedicated for my fellow neurodivergents, specifically those who have add/adhd.
itâs normal for all of us to feel stressed sometimes. stress, as well as anxiety, are both feelings we all experience from time to time. however, dealing with a lot of stress is proven to have a negative impact on your body, more specifically your (autonomic) nervous system. by understanding how to regulate your nervous system, you will have an easier time managing stressful moments, and overall live a lot more balanced and peaceful life. ⎠Š credits
the nervous system.
your nervous system is the control center of your body. it is the part of your body thatâs responsible for regulating your breathing, your heartbeat, your blood pressure, your digestion, and also the way you feel. the part of your nervous system that deals with the emotional wellbeing of yours is called "autonomic nervous system".
when feeling stressed, your body naturally reacts in a way to prepare you for the situation. it could respond through an increased heart rate, sweaty palms or the tension of muscles. nevertheless, our bodies cannot constantly withstand stress. continuously experiencing high levels of cortisol and adrenaline can lead to (sometimes serious) health issues.
a dysregulated nervous system.
a nervous system becomes dysregulated when the body cannot properly handle certain situations the way it used to. the body's way of responding to certain situations falls out of sync. it indicates a state of imbalance as you experience your body not being able to keep up with you.
signs.
these are some of the signs indicating you might have a dysregulated nervous system:
anxiety
easily irritated
memory problems
difficulty concentrating
headaches
quickly overwhelmed
mood swings
panic attacks
digestive issues
trouble sleeping
constant fatigue
chronic pain
persistent muscle tension
weakened immune system
stressors.
here is a list of stressors that are known to disrupt your nervous system balance:
chronic stress
burnout
traumatic events
poor sleep habits
unhealthy diet
no time for relaxation
support.
here are things you can do to help regulating your nervous system again:
meditating and resting
listening to music
dancing and moving
stretching and walking
eft tapping
massaging yourself
affirming
practicing mindfulness
reconnecting with nature
hugging someone or yourself
somatic shaking
rubbing ice cubes on face
taking a cold shower
sleeping and waking up early
grounding yourself
humming, singing and laughing
talking to someone
reading or listening
using a weighted blanket
drinking herbal tea
engaging in calming activities
deep breathing exercises
prioritising your sleep
with love, ella.

It might simply be that I donât frequent ADHD forums enough but I havenât seen a whole lot of talk about learned social withdrawal.
As a child I made friends left and right but as we all turned into self-conscious teenagers it slowly became more and more difficult for me. Plain and simple, other people thought I was weird. For some reason I never got bullied which I think is related to something my teachers kept telling my parents âSheâs such a sweet, bright child and we can tell sheâs not malicious or trying to be disruptive on purpose but we canât teach her anythingâ
Basically people couldnât figure me out. I had good social skills with both children and adults, I had a good moral compass, i felt compassion and empathy for others and was willing to go against my friends if I felt they were being bullies, I taught myself English and my drawings showed good observation skills. Because of all that it was decided I should start school a year sooner than most kids and my parents were very proud. Unfortunately thatâs probably one of the main reasons why I was never diagnosed with raging ADHD as a child. People soon realized I didnât do well in a school setting but assumed it was because I âwasnât done playingâ and my ADHD symptoms were interpreted as childishness.
So as I got older my classmates started to distance themselves from me. They were always kind and friendly but they didnât know how to deal with me and ever since then people have always been worryingly comfortable with calling me weird to my face. I get the impression itâs because they think itâs a choice on my part. To them Iâm clearly of ânormal intelligenceâ so I must be acting like this on purpose and my parents would repeatedly tell me to âjust act normalâ as a child when I told them I was struggling to make friends. I tried so damn hard but kept failing. I knew something had to be different about me and when I first heard about ADHD I thought âThatâs me! Thatâs how I feel!â but my parents said that was impossible because I wasnât hyperactive.
Because nobody wanted to help me I eventually learned to just stop trying to make friends and keep to myself. I was so tired of being told by friendly, well-meaning people that I was so weird and quirky and unique only for them to distance themselves once they realized it was permanent and not something I could turn on and off for parties. I always enjoyed being alone so it wasnât a huge loss but it did feel incredibly lonely at times.
Things got a lot better when I became an adult, mostly because adults are generally more chill than teens so my ADHD behavior isnât as embarrassing to them and ironically theyâre often surprised to learn I donât make friends easily. Unfortunately I learned to be withdrawn in my formative years so new friends are still a rarity. Before I really sat down and put my past into context I even started to wonder if I had autism despite not connecting with anything autistic people said about their experiences. I went as far as to be tested but wasnât surprised when the diagnosis was negative because of course it was, I kinda already knew that. I was just looking for an explanation.
So while there can be overlap between ADHD and autism (I have just such a friend) my experience is also that oftentimes people with ADHD simply learn to stay away from social situations and entertain ourselves which ends up looking like autism to outsiders.

A quick reminder that the bullet journal method was designed as a disability tool by a person with ADD. It's meant to be practical, and can be helpful especially to neurodivergent folks. Don't let the Instagram pictures or grind culture make you believe you cannot use it. The method will not work for everyone of course, but it is largely what you make of it.

idk if that's a hot take or what but i genuinely do not give a flying fuck if kids online self-diagnose with adhd. if they browse those "how to do x with adhd" sites or look for+find support in adhd-specific communities or buy nice planners bc it helps them at school or buy those spinning rings to fidget with literally how is that any of my problem. I'd rather 5000 people without adhd better their lives by using things intended for people w adhd than one kid with adhd feeling lost and depressed bc they're convinced they're just lazy.
#and I'm saying this as someone w a professional diagnosis btw#adhd#actually adhd#add#attention deficit hyperactivity disorder#self diagnosis#444
