also honourable mention to the lyrics:
‘out in the park we watch the sunset / talking on a rusty swing set / after a while you went quiet and i got mean / i’m always pushing you away from me / but you come back like gravity’

studying methods ˖ ⊹ ࣪ ౨ৎ˚
"the kpop method"
You're going to pretend that your school is a kpop company, and each class represents a different kpop group, and each student is a member of that group. The best student in each class is the most biased member, and the worst student is the least biased member. work until you are the most biased member. By working hard and putting in your effort, you can become the most biased member of your class and achieve your academic goals.
BONUS - If you want to become the best version of yourself while still using the kpop method, i have a little tip for you! You're going to make a list of requirements for yourself, this can include how you want to dress, how you want to act, make a routine for yourself, etc. Then you can pretend it's your "company" telling these things, as if you were a real kpop idol ˖ ᡣ𐭩 ⊹ ࣪

" The Rory Gilmore method"
this method is not very complex, but it has a lot of steps.
1. create a schedule - Rory is well-known for her strict schedule and commitment to sticking to it. To study like Rory, you should first make a timetable outlining your study time, your reading time, and free time. Include breaks in your schedule and try to follow it as much as you can.
2. lots of reading - Rory is an avid reader who always carries a book with her. Pick books that interest you and make reading a daily habit ( i recommend reading before bed because it helps me to calm down and helps me with falling asleep). Reading books will help you develop your vocabulary and critical thinking skills.
3. Take notes - Rory is well-known for her detailed notes and ability to retain new information. Take notes in class and annotate your books. Make your notes more structured by using highlithers and different colors, and review them daily. (goodnotes - ios, notion - ios and android are great for digital notes)
4. Make use of flashcards - Rory memorises stuff through flashcards. Flashcards can be used for vocabulary terms, key concepts, and other relevant information. Use them to test yourself and review regularly.
5. Define your goals - Rory has a set goal, what are you working for? Make a vision board, write down your goals, visualize. This will help you stay motivated and not loose focus!

Medias I've used the most with my shifting journey (in a /pos way):
Tiktok: Accounts that have script templates is a MASSIVE timesaver if you don't know what reality you want to shift to (plus you can just delete stuff you dont wanna use) or too lazy to make your own. I've seen a variety between popular scripts to lesser known ones and even completely blank ones with just themes! I've also discovered GoodNotes through shifttok (which does have a paid subscription if you want to do more than 3 scripts, but if you like to have a digital bullet journal/scrapbook feel, it wouldn't hurt to try out/pos) along with how other people script which was interesting to me! The biggest puller for me personally is the art people make for/of their DRs as someone that does it themselves (and it gives me an excuse to gush over the person's art as a whole!)
Tumblr: Before I got back into shifting, I used to thread through the various tags for pngs/icons, banners and headers for my grimoire and my digital planner for college (and admire art and aesthetic stuff, along with info for said grimoire but that's unrelated). I even had to start a sideblog so I dont lose track of stuff I wanna use eventually. Tumblr also allows me to stay connected to my DRs by indulging in fics, fanart, headcanons, and other things that could trigger inspiration for a scenario (or an unintended memory/blip)
Amino: Yeahh I know it's not a lotta people's cup of tea. It takes some digging around to find some potentially useful stuff and if the community has a masterlist for it, there's divination shops/teams and free pick-a-pile readings! Some even submit script templates that you can copy+paste. I kinda just lurk around, do the daily check-in and keep track of angel numbers I've seen the day before for my spiritual journey but thats just me being me lmao
Pinterest: My other visual savior for scripting! I almost have a board for every reality I have a script for visualizing and refs for when I want to connect through making art. I know I can just download the images and add them to my actual script, but finding the stuff as is is enough work for me and I don't wanna spend more time scripting than I actually need to (and it makes sense for my adhd brain)
Notion: What I originally used for academics now houses a digital grimoire and a script hub. I don't remember what pulled me in to using it since I first started in 2019. I just became more obsessed the more I found out about how people set theirs up and make the layout as minimalist or maximalist as they wanted. I will say there are some limitations between using Notion on a phone vs. a computer or tablet along with the occasional hiccup, but overall it works effectively for me that makes it organized and pleasing to the eye
Etsy: Yep.. a place to shop. I used to splurge a ton on readings on there early in my journey (I still do every now and then now that I found some personal favorite shops) but you can also connect to your DRs without it being specifically shifting-related, like candles or wax melts— even a pin or keychain that reminds you of it somehow.

Hey! I’m gonna be a physics major next year, and I was wondering if the Mac and iPad combo have worked well for you, or if there’s something else you recommend tech wise?
short answer: yes.
but, im gonna use this has an opportunity to yap about my current study set up. this goes without saying, but what worked for me may not work for you, and my set up evolved over the years as i found what was best for me.
i use an iPad for lecture notes and homework. i think its the most organized you can get them to be without straight up LaTeXing the shit out of them (and i know people who do exactly that, more power to them)
i just write faster than i type, and an ipad allows me to copy paste equations and add photos and stuff which is helpful for diagrams. i use goodnotes 5, and i will sing its praises till the end of time.
i think it pays to develop a clear style for your homework and lecture notes, bc your work will be easier to navigate. here's an example of my lecture notes and my homework.
[hehe general relativity moment]
HOWEVER, you will mostly be having paper exams as a physics student so i recommend you don't get too reliant on your iPad. i tend to do all my studying in notebooks, or loose sheets that i can refer to. practice problems are always on paper.
[stat mech studying i did last week]
i started using legal pads for this from the end of junior year bc they're so convenient! im also incentivized by the stock our dept keeps in the mail room.
i have to do a lot of calculations for research and i prefer to do them on paper or a blackboard if it's something im reasoning out. idk it's so much easier to be stupid on paper than on goodnotes. ofc my research log is kept digitally, but i keep a binder with all my old calculations (both correct, and incorrect) along with my main reference papers.
[i was flipping through this just now and realised how much bs is in it.]
LaTeX is a good skill to have which i didn't realise until too late. if you have to write any paper that's remotely scientific, LaTeX is the way to go. none of that google docs bs.
i use both vscode and Overleaf for editing. i mainly just LaTeX my finalized research calculations into one big doc. it's much easier to show my advisor. also it looks cool.
i got a monitor when my laptop screen broke sophomore spring (something inside me broke as well that semester it was so fun). and if you have the option, i would totally recommend getting one. it's useful having a second/bigger screen.
i use mine for a bunch of things: coding, reading textbooks, genshin impact, Netflix, grading.
on the topic of textbooks, i use digital bc im cheap. but i do buy secondhand physical copies that i rarely reference, but keep around bc it doesn't hurt to start your hypothetical professor office bookshelf early. i only buy the ones i actually respect, like Peskin's Intro to QFT. but the digital copies are usually much handier. i keep an extensive digital collection of books and papers i might never need.
don't be like me keep your digital library more organized!
and yeah circling back to electronics! i use a Macbook Pro rn which has served me well. i guess things are different if you need to run solidworks or other specialized software, but you can always use the lab computers, so that was never a problem. i have an apple ecosystem bc im a slut for capitalism.. i mean i was already halfway there and now im just really used to it, so i like all my devices being friends with each other. my tip is always get more RAM than you thought you needed, and double the storage. but maybe that's bc im mean to my laptop and love hoarding files.
i also keep all my previous notes and printouts so may be i have an academic hoarding problem in general.
in the end, a mix of old school and new age technology bs works best for me!
thank you for your question! i hope this helps :)

Fellow witches and practitioners, I come with a sweet, simple and closet-friendly tip/reminder!
✨You CAN make your altar DIGITAL✨
Let me explain:
For multiple reasons, you may not have an altar and (unlike myself) you don't need to feel bad for not having one set up properly. You can take your preffered game that has furniture placement and make an altar in it. You can also use any drawing medium to create one.
For games, Sims comes first to mind. It is very easy with the Realm of Magic pack to create an altar, but you can also get the base game for free and delve into CC (custom content) and pick basic elements of an altar (cauldron, candles, broom, knife, wand, etc.) but also embelishments. Skyrim has the possibility of making an altar in your own house (altho I am not very sure about it, as it's not my chosen medium). Animal Crossing New Horizon also gives us a plethora of items that we can create an altar with. Bonus points for the portability of a Switch, you can bring your virtual altar with you all the time. I've been experimenting with Genshins' housing system and the posibility of creating an altar in there too, I am sure it can be done.
For drawing, making one in your Book of Shadows could be an amazing addition to it! You can also make it so you can place some items on it, as example crystals or plant-offerings. It doesn't need to be artistically created, just the existence of it is enough. You can use pictures or drawings that others made if that would be easier for you, either printing the picture or putting it into a medium as Goodnotes or a PDF you might have on your phone is also a good solution. You could also make it your desktop/wallpaper if you chose so.
Please note that it may not feel like a real altar, you can't interract with it in the same way you would with a physical altar. Treat it as a mini-altar version, a visualiser that will aid you in your prayer, spell making and meditation. Just having one, be it physical, virtual or paper-based, may bring you some happiness and tune you in with your practices. It's also impostant to state that a lack of altar doesn't make you less of a practitioner! Walking slowly is still walking, it matters more that you enjoy yourself and you find importance in your practice.
Stay safe folks ❤️, blessed be!

Goodnotes Stuff
So lately, I've gotten into using Goodnotes to keep track of my work because I have a large enough case load that it really, truly helps to give myself a running checklist, and I prefer digital notetaking because then I can use stickers without actually losing them (because commitment is scary).
I even made myself a colorful to-do list template with my firm's branding colors on it so that it serves as a reminder that when I have it open, I'm supposed to be working. And I've set up a way to color-code my notes so I can tell at a glance what's done, what's urgent, and what's on the horizon. For tasks that I am dependent on someone else doing their job, I have a way to notate who/what I'm waiting on. And I converted my handwriting into a cute font, so that it feels personalized.
To the extent that any of this is helpful to anyone else, here are the non-self-identifying papers, covers, stickers, and color palettes I've made for myself. Not everything is in every color, because I do these according to my attention span. Feel free to recolor/reshare/whatever.
I will add on to this as I remember to do so.

Study Day
So I’ve been studying non stop today, for about… okay well I actually studied as in wrote notes for about 4-5 hours I think, a lot of the time I spent doing a mixture of reading and thinking, and self soothing when a panic attack started to crop up (note; hitting or drumming my fingers over my heart helps in a similar manner to drumming my fingers on my temples)
Have I been as productive as I would like to and remember being in the past with A-levels or even last year with uni? No, I really needed to go slow and take these notes because this is A LOT of content and it took me a while to comprehend it since it’s a lot of new concepts all at once. I spent yesterday oscillating between soothing and reading because the work was quite new and complex, and then today making notes slowly
However I’m getting a grasp on it, I’m fascinated by how this course is approaching the idea of landscapes and environment (and it’s helping me understand fully some video essays I’ve watched on Studio Ghibli films, in fact it’s giving me more ideas to expand on those essays with)
I’m going slow at first because this feels like foundation knowledge that I’ll come back to a lot later so I want to be sure I’m synthesising information correctly.
I spent most of today going over how environmental transformation in Holland was connected with national identity and therefore Netherlands’ art in the 1700s and looking at the different facets of “landscape”, landscape as art (representation), landscape as an action (to landscape the environment) and landscape as a political entity (a boundary around a certain area of land)
Now I’ve moved onto Landscapes as sacred places, how they symbolise different ideas of divinity for different religions
As I was studying I figured out a good way to save myself some money and avoid a goodnotes subscription; export my notebooks to my iCloud Drive once I’m done and then I can still make my 2 free notebooks on the app. Yes I could pay a one off price of £26 but I can’t justify it yet.
I also figured out how to use the tape feature (it looks like tape in your notebook!) and the sticky notes feature, which you can leave on the page or collapse sort of like a pop up thing in your own notebook which is so fun ^_^
So, productivity. Not as great as it used to be, but I’m getting there. Between a new topic of study and the low thrum of anxiety and easing back into studying? I am probably not doing terribly. (I’m trying to be nice to myself here)
I’m using the half term just to catch up on studying, I’ve only 2 outings planned so Insha’Allah I’ll have caught up and set a good study schedule in place for term time.
It feels like I’ve been studying all day, I mean I have I’ve been sitting here fixated on it all day but I don’t have as much as I wished I would to show for it.
*bites lip*
Being nice to myself. Yes.
I also made sure to eat breakfast and lunch but after my work flow got interrupted to help clean up an hour ago, meh I don’t feel interested in cooking or eating dinner, or getting back to work (hence my wandering on tumblr)
But this is still better self care than A-levels, I’m going to finish some apple slices and then shower and go to bed since I want to wake up early to continue studying Insha’Allah

Hello!! Are you interested in journaling your experience with the new Zelda game? I made a free downloadable spread available in both PNG and PDF! Unfortunately the design was not very conducive to making a printable version, however, you can import these files into programs like Procreate, Goodnotes, etc. Again it is free, do not feel obligated to pay anything! I just wanted to use a reliable file download site.
I also left the pages blank to promote your own writing creativity, but if you need inspiration on how to set up the journal you are more than welcome to check out my other blog posts! (but do be warned for spoilers)
The design of the spread is above! You could even just download the image above but the quality could be compressed. Thank you if you do download and feel free to tag this blog or @pumpkinsouppe if you decide to post your experience! I believe there's something truly special to documenting your experience with things you love and having the ability to look back on that experience.
Here's also a very quick example of how I would set it up but you do not have to follow it!! Format it to what suits you the best!

what do you take notes on? which laptop, which writing pad and allat.
Also, don't you prefer raw handwritten notes over digital notes?
hi !! I kind of take notes on everything and my preference really depends on what the notes are being used for and where/when I’m writing them.
For digital notes, i use an iPad w/ the pencil on two separate apps: Goodnotes 5 and Microsoft One Note. I like using One Note for lecture notes because the infinite whiteboard-esque space helps me take notes faster, and I use Goodnotes for any homework assignments I can turn in online. This is my usual set up for days when I’m on campus because I commute and the lighter bag makes everything easier.
The laptop that I’m using now is a Lenovo Yoga 720, and it seems like it’s handling the software required for my engineering classes fine. I actually just got it not even a month ago as a gift from a relative who just graduated college, so I’m not too familiar with it yet, but it’s been working great so far! Notes-wise, I take notes for my programming and physics classes on notion. I usually take my physics notes on my iPad, but I’ve been strapped for time recently and it’s quicker to type them out rn than to write them. To insert equations from the book, I use the chrome extension Equatio, which allows me to capture the equations from my textbook and copy the LaTeX formatting quick.
I do hand write my notes on paper sometimes, but only for specific subjects or circumstances. When I’m not in a hurry and want to focus on really understanding the material well, like slightly before midterm or finals season, I’ll take paper notes for my stem classes. I also mainly use paper notes for my humanities courses because I do prefer the feeling of paper and I’m not usually rushing to get those notes done, but I don’t have any humanities courses this semester :[
So yeah sorry for the long wall of yap 😭😭 TLDR I like the feeling and structure of paper notes more but the convenience of quicker notes, easy graphs/diagrams, and the lasso tool has won me over in this busier-than-normal semester 😵💫
