What does a day in your life look like?
Hi love! Great question because it's equally mundane and exciting.
On Weekdays:
I usually wake up around 8 AM and immediately start brewing my coffee (I couldn't survive without my 2 large mugs of black coffee daily – it's my most productive addiction lol);
Do the whole bathroom/skincare routine, chug 1-2 large glasses of water, and change into my "workwear" for the day (I WFH, so that's usually some sort of black knit set or structured sweatshirt, especially on Fridays); Put on light daily makeup, brush hair, etc.
Read through a few newsletters to my shuffle or French instrumental music (Morning Brew, The Skimm, Business of Fashion, Glossy, among others but these are the daily ones)
Check my email and plan my day (use the Intelligent Change Productivity Planner): I own my own copywriting/editorial business, so I usually have a main task for the day, such as writing a web page, email series, blog post/article, creating a content strategy, press releases, etc. and answer my most important/urgent emails. I try to leave one admin day to deal with most of my contracts/invoicing/calls/Zoom client meetings per week
Some days, I have certain industry events (like press previews, brand or product launches, or shows/presentations during Fashion Week), so I account for those on the days I'm going! My clients are located all over the world (Milan, London, NYC, LA, Sydney, etc.), so most of my face time with them is virtual. Love to see them if they're in town, though!
After working until at least the late afternoon or evening (usually start around 9 am), I'll take a walk or do a pilates workout if it's raining. Then, shower to reset, and take care of any late-day emails or extra work I want to finish for the day before dinner, especially if I take an earlier walk
Finally, I'll change into sweats, have dinner, clean up, do my skincare, go on Tumblr/Pinterest/Insta/Reddit, etc. read some articles then journal and read a bit (unless I scroll on TikTok lol, which happens more than I would like!) with a cup of tea before going to bed. I'm such a night owl naturally, so I've learned to go with it (being in bed by 1 am is an accomplishment for me!).
On Weekends:
Sleep IN (earliest is 9:30-10 AM); Coffee because I'm an addict, whole bathroom/water routine, change into sweats, have a dance party while the coffee gets brewing lol, and read some articles to wake up. Then, it's either chores day – Clean for the cleaner, laundry, organizing, groceries, you know the deal or a free-for-all – going on Tumblr, Netflix, listening to Podcasts, journaling, reading, etc. and always a walk or light workout
** Obviously, I'm missing the meals here but for anyone struggling with an ED or food issues, please know that I DO have 3 meals a day and 1-2 snacks or 2 meals and 2-3 snacks a day. Fuel your body!
Hope this answers your question xx

Focusing on Positive Energy
I'm having better days. I've made some changes, like spending LESS time on social media and using my phone less in general.
No more using the phone on the toilet! I know it's silly, but let's be honest, that's where most social media consumption happens. Instead, I've put some comic books in the bathroom and now I enjoy reading while "taking care of business."
Tumblr is the only social media platform I still use a bit. It's a safer space, it's slower, and it helps me express my thoughts without having to interact with "people I know."
I need to get my energy and focus back.
In the morning, first things first: meditation.
Then, I go to the gym four times per week to build muscle and get stronger and stronger.
Planning my day also helps, from smaller to bigger tasks. It gives me a sense of control and fulfillment.
And last but not least, I take a lot of walks. Walking in my village, in the calm of the Dutch summer, just me and my audiobooks, calms my nerves.
Whenever bad thoughts come, I repeat my positive affirmations, which I also keep on a note on my phone. So when I'm tempted to go on social media, I open that note instead.
And when things get really bad, I blast some good music and dance around. It might sound silly, but it's scientifically proven that physical activity can improve your mood and give you a bit of endorphins to keep you happy.
So far, this is working pretty well (along with therapy), and my second week of job hunting has been less desperate than the first one.

Breaking Through the Winter Blues: Finding Growth in Stagnant Seasons
Tumblr media
Feeling the weather blues? Looks like seasonal depression has made its way into homes, hearts, and minds. 🥶 As much as I love the colder months for cozy sweaters and warm drinks, there’s no denying the heavy cloud that’s been hovering lately—and not just in the sky.
I’ve been fighting this dark cloud hard. My music feels stagnant, dance classes have dwindled (thanks to winter schedules), and my emotions have been extra raw—like I’m walking around without armor. Little triggers feel like big earthquakes.
It wasn’t until today, during a heart-to-heart with a friend who reached out looking for support, that it hit me: we’re deep in the solstice of winter blues. While I was busy being their safe space and avoiding my own feelings, they paused to ask me how I was doing. Funny how it takes moments like these to bring clarity, huh?
Let’s be real—I’ve been battling more than just the cold. Imposter syndrome has been loud in my head, self-judgment has been relentless, and self-doubt seems to have unpacked its bags for an extended stay. I’ve been questioning my productivity, my talent, and even my ability to just… keep going.
But today, I made a list of everything I’ve accomplished this year. Big wins, small wins, even tiny steps that felt like nothing at the time—they all added up to a lot more than I gave myself credit for.
Did you know: Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is more than just feeling down; it’s a real form of depression triggered by shorter days, colder weather, and lack of sunlight. But the good news? There are ways to combat it and keep yourself grounded: 🌞 Get Sunlight: Even if it’s just stepping outside for 15 minutes. Natural light can do wonders. 💡 Light Therapy: A lightbox can mimic sunlight and help regulate your mood. 🧘🏾‍♀️ Move Your Body: A brisk walk, some yoga, or even a mini dance session at home can shake off stagnant energy. 📓 Journal Gratitude or Wins: Remind yourself of what you’ve achieved—it’s a powerful way to counter self-doubt. 📞 Talk to Someone: Whether it’s a therapist, friend, or family member, sharing what you’re going through can lighten the emotional load.
To everyone out there wrestling with restless energy and the weight of stagnancy: you’re not alone. Some seasons are meant for movement, but others are meant for reflection and healing. Even when it feels like you’re stuck, your inner work is progress.
✨Remember: winter doesn’t last forever, and neither will this.✨ Let’s give ourselves the same kindness we’d offer someone else. We deserve that, at the very least.
How do you keep your spirits up during the colder months? Let’s share tips and encourage each other. 💙
