Hi! I figured i'd clear some things up

Consent and WHAT kids can clnsent on varies. Most kids before the age of 18 are unable to fully understand what they are actually consenting too. While some kids that are younger ARE mature enough, it is important to keep the law high enough to actually protect all kids.

Of course, there are things like the Romeo & Juliet law when it comes to the United States, and often times courts won't actually prosecute an adult for having a relationship where it's something like 17/18 or even 16/18 due to the fact that minors can get emancipated around 16, depending on when minors are allowed to get jobs in each state.

Kids have sex. Like, that's just a fact, and even no matter their age. I mean shit, preschoolers just do whatever the fuck they want, teenagers fool around, etc. but when an ADULT, especially a trusted adult has sex with a minor, it has been shown that it changes people's brain chemistry and often causes them to become hypersexual, same with if kids are exposed to pornography at too young an age.

Yes. Age does not equal maturity, but what you're talking about opens the channel for rape, and also denying disabled people the ability to have sex. You can not measure maturity. You can not measure when someone can TRULY consent or not.

Generally, kids can not consent to sex. Having sex with someone your same age as a kid is not inherently sexual assault. It becomes sexual assault when an ADULT and a minor have sex, unless R&M laws apply.

Please learn about what you're actually talking about and just. Learn the law and learn about psychology.

Saying minors can't consent is saying that minors don't have the brains or maturity to consent, maturity doesn't come with age and age is something that shouldn't equal to what people can do and can't or can or can't be punished ,we need youth liberation and we need to fight for it. -Silus

hi! i am a paraphile. we need to talk about paraphilias.

the big three are the ones most people know. aka, pedophilia, zoophilia, and necrophilia.

some people (if not most) do not want to be attracted to this. it is a result of trauma and a survival mechanism made up by the human mind.

not every paraphile wants to act on their impulses. most dont. but because these disorders are so stigmatized, they often cannot get the help they need or want to get better at managing it.

i do not believe animals, children, or anything dead can consent. this is upheld by the law and the moral code of human nature-- protect kids and animals, respect the dead, dont harm them.

some people act these out via kink. which is okay as long as it is done safely and consentually.

there are certain paraphilias that are completely harmless. some people are attracted to rain, some are attracted to plushies.

i myself am an autoassasinophile. i find being close to death or injured very very attractive. i deal with this via my partners. they both help me out, with consent and safety measures in place. i am allowed to stop anytime i want, and so are they.

paraphiles arent evil. they are people too, and deserve to be treated as such. the more we encourage the destigmatization, the more people can get help and manage these impulses better. its not normal for these thoughts to be ocurring, but they can be managed.

The sociopathy & psychopathy design uses the hypoempathy flag colors by @neopronouns. The one with the orange brain is meant to represent a person with low empathy, with the question mark symbolizing how they do not connect to the other person's feelings, and the heart dialogue shows they are still being kind despite not understanding. The one with the blue brain is meant to represent a person with typical or high empathy, with the line connecting their brain to the other person's brain.

The narcissism design uses narcissus flowers (daffodils). Narcissus flowers were named after Narcissus, who in some versions of the myth turned into a flower out of despair of his reflection never being able to give him the affection he desires. The smiling mask represents the confident/affectionate facade, while the person crying represents how they are suffering internally.

The paraphillic disorder design uses the sunset para symbol by @a-hydrangea-named-acti, representing anti-contact & pro-recovery for paraphilic disorders. The upside down heart represents paraphilic attraction itself, and how it goes against the norm of typical attraction.

Whenever anti endos follow me on main I get confused and I'm just like "why are you here?"

Sometimes I'll go up to them and just raise a paw and be like "Hi I'm jackrabbit and I'm proendo lol" and leave without explaining anything

I geniunely hope they change and just stop giving a shit about what endos do, since they're not inherently faking by being outside of the norms. System stuff is poorly researched as it is. Give people grace!

Why should you support, or at least respect, paraphiles?

Stupid little [informational] rant on why there's nothing wrong with paraphilias and paraphilic disorders, yes that includes the bad ones, and why anti-paraphilia is technically ableist. "S-so i'm ableist for not liking pedophilia?!" shut up and listen.

Before I go all out here's some terms you should know ;

anti-contact : someone who doesn't support *practicing paraphilias, more specifically ones that cannot be consented to.

pro-contact : someone who supports *practicing paraphilias

there's also neu-contact, complex-contact, blah blah

*practicing : a paraphile who practices (acts on) their paraphilia

non-practicing : a paraphile who doesn't practice (act on) their paraphilia

okay keep reading for the actual reasons, please repost to spread awareness /nf.

To start, paraphilias are completely uncontrollable just like any other fetish or even mental condition. Their causes are mostly trauma, internet exposure at a young age, and sometimes can be passed down through genetics. Again, they cannot control any of those, so why judge them for it?

Because of the way paraphilias are looked down on, it makes it difficult for them to seek treatment or even supportive communities. Especially younger paraphiles who may not be in a good environment or feel too ashamed to tell anyone about it. Not being able to get help can lead paraphiles to harm others or themselves.

Paraphiles do not choose to be paraphiles, they do choose however, whether they act on their paraphilia or not. If you still don't understand, let me explain it in a different light. Take NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) for example, people view those with that disorder as horrible and abusive (which isn't true mind you.) NPD is also caused by trauma or genetics, and narcissists have the choice of being abusive or not, just like any other person.

So what makes it so different from other mental conditions, especially since paraphilic disorders are also a thing? They're only viewed horribly because of the stereotypes, just like almost every mental condition. Does that make them deserving of being discriminated against, for something they have no control over?

Now take anti-para and replace it with something else, like anti-PTSD or anti-hypersexual, now that doesn't sound like something you'd want to be, does it? Be support of all neurodivergent / mentally disabled people, not just some.

Recovery from paraphilic disorder is often about learning self-acceptance, developing coping skills, setting boundaries, processing trauma, reducing harm, and taking responsibility. It's not about making someone "get rid of" their paraphilia. Paraphilias, by themselves, are not inherently dangerous or harmful! Yes, that means even the ones that people think are "gross."

Am I the only one who finds it weird how people have just started shipping PV and SM after the last two updates after the whole fandom criticized it for being “proship” and “problematic” but now that’s it’s popular people are just pretending it never happened??? It might just be my algorithm though, idk, I’ve been proudly shipping PV and SM since SM was introduced. 🤷
