IAN GALLAGHER + his journey with bipolar disorder
╰┈➤ “At times, being bipolar can be an all-consuming challenge, requiring a lot of stamina and even more courage, so if you’re living with this illness and functioning at all, it’s something to be proud of, not ashamed of." - Carrie Fisher
#happy world bipolar day to all my bp babies#(more thoughts at the end of the tags)#shameless#shamelessnet#shamelessedit#ian gallagher#cameron monaghan#*macygifs#bipolar disorder#hello pals how are we doin#i made this gif set in july of 2023 and never posted it because 1) i was terrified to share it and potentially see Bad Takes in the tags#and 2) because my hyperfixation was waning. and while both of those things are still mostly true (the fixation comes and goes)#i feel like it's really important to share as ian's bipolar storyline was not only so vital to his character it was a bit of representation#that isn't often given to the disorder and those (like myself) who live with it every single day#world bipolar day is a day where we can both celebrate ourselves and our resilience and also raise awareness of the reality of the disorder#which is both terrifying and beautiful at its core. this disease is not a death sentence or a sentence to an unfulfilled and miserable life#while there are challenges galore when it comes to balancing life with this disorder it IS possible to live a full and productive life#and i think it's really important to have representation of that in media - and while shameless dropped the ball on a LOT of storylines#over the years THIS is the one they really fucking nailed and i am incredibly grateful#i first started watching shameless while in the midst of a major depressive episode and i was later (finally) diagnosed during an extended#hypo/manic episode - this show and ian's storyline got me through so much and made me feel so seen and validated in my struggles#world bipolar day is also vincent van gogh's birthday (happy birthday buddy) who was posthumously diagnosed with bipolar disorder#and who experienced both depressive and hypo/manic episodes during his lifetime (and was regularly institutionalized)#it takes a lot of help and support to keep us going. it takes the support of our family and friends and *most* of all#it takes patience and kindness and understanding - which is so so so easy to give if you are willing to love and listen#so please. be willing. listen to our stories. be patient with us. show us love without conditions. support us in any way you can.#we are worth it#i promise#anyway. that's really all i wanted to say. happy world bipolar day to those who celebrate (me) and may all of us living with this disorder#go on to live happy fulfilling beautiful magical lives

I will never understand how ungrateful these BoBs are. Look at all the BTS content they get for their ship all the time during filming. There's so much for them to appreciate and be happy about without spreading hate to other fandoms/characters/actors they dislike. Whether or not Buddie goes canon, they will always have plenty of Buck and Eddie content to enjoy every season. That's almost certainly a guarantee; that's never a fear they will have to struggle with as long as Oliver and Ryan are regulars on the show.
Even then, why are the BoBs still never happy? They have so much Buddie content to savour from multiple seasons. They always break down every BTS bit as well as analyse every Buddie scene from the actual episodes to fit into their preferred narrative of them being practically husbands and a family with Christopher. They stubbornly believe that their analysis is the ultimate truth, the writers' intentions be damned. Then why the endless whining and frustration despite everything, I will never know! All because there's no sex involved to make their fanon go canon???
Those kids have a lot to be thankful for if they could just put their desperate need to see their two favourites kiss aside. If six seasons worth of good Buddie content cannot make them happy just because there's no romancing and kissing and sex involved, it makes me think they deserve none of what they have already been given so far either...
#rant against the ungrateful BoBs#be happy with what you have for there's a lot of B*ddie content out there#and look at how bucktommies are the opposite#we are fed crumbs but we celebrate each and every one we get like it's more precious than all the gold in the world#BoBs would never have the strength to survive the way they we do#add their constant nastiness and toxicity towards us to the mix and imagine how resilient we are#tevan#bucktommy#kinley#tommy kinard#evan ‘buck’ buckley#evan buckley#911 abc#911 discourse

what i hate is that ppl tried to play this as ohhh sympathy this sympathy that, BTCH SHE WAS GETTING TORMENTED! Like she was called a DEMON! for getting shot.. her mom just died and she didn’t have any other family members to support her like these ppl are evil
the way men band behind abusers is fucking evil like you really can't trust any of them I'm sick
patriarchy is Femicide
Misogyny is Femicide
Misogynoir is Femicide
the worst part of all of this is that the tory fans and men in the industry were almost happy to become extensions of tory’s abuse. y’all literally helped him abuse her. i will NEVER forget that.
diddy, Chris brown, LeBron: I hope you burn in hell and the same goes for everyone else who dehumanize her to slut out for her abuser and tormentor!
Megan is too kind for me I would have turned into a serial murderer
like I would’ve crashed out sooooo bad like all those niggas who have been exposed would be dead
#Absolutely!#That kind of resilience deserves serious attention—#powerful and heartbreaking#Every single man should start their lives in prison and work their way out#I hate every single person who hurt her#I wish they weren’t alive anymore!#Mind you#she’s going through this alone.#No close friends and her mom just passed#This is sickening. I want nothing more than to see Chris Brown and LeBron gone."#fr she was actually traumatized#the torment was so disgusting from all angles#It is very heart breaking 💔😔#And this is why they will always be the lowest#on the totem…#same n!ggas wanting people to care and feel sympathy for them.#Disgusting I hate black men right now at least this moment .#I warned you that after this documentary I was going to be hating#on black men for a while#Sorry to all the good ones who are catching stray shots#I’m just too pissed right now#❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️#This whole case had me changing my opinions and views(at least for the moment)#celebrating the police and the system#being xenophobic towards Canadian people#posting stories with reader plus white celebrities with fluffy or smutty material#nearly being racist towards black men#saying that some of them nigcels deserved to be another hashtag#and backing the death penalty.#megan thee stallion

Celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day: Honouring Culture, Resilience, and Heritage
Shaina Tranquilino
June 21, 2024
In many countries around the world, indigenous peoples have long been the custodians of unique cultures, traditions, and knowledge systems that are deeply intertwined with their lands. In Canada, National Indigenous Peoples Day stands as a testament to the resilience, contributions, and ongoing struggles of the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.
A Day of Recognition and Celebration
Established on June 21st, National Indigenous Peoples Day is a time for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the rich cultural heritage and diverse contributions of Indigenous peoples. This day not only highlights the achievements and talents of Indigenous communities but also serves as a reminder of the ongoing journey towards reconciliation and understanding.
Honouring Culture and Heritage
Central to the celebrations are the diverse cultural expressions of Indigenous peoples, ranging from traditional dances, music, and storytelling to art, cuisine, and language revitalization efforts. Each of these elements serves to showcase the depth and resilience of Indigenous cultures that have withstood centuries of adversity and continue to thrive today.
Acknowledging the Challenges
While National Indigenous Peoples Day is a day of celebration, it is also an opportunity to reflect on the historical injustices, systemic inequalities, and ongoing challenges faced by Indigenous communities. Issues such as access to healthcare, education, clean water, and housing remain significant barriers for many Indigenous peoples across Canada and beyond.
Commitment to Reconciliation
In recent years, there has been a growing commitment to reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. This includes efforts to address historical grievances, promote cultural awareness and sensitivity, and support economic and social development within Indigenous communities.
Moving Forward Together
As we commemorate National Indigenous Peoples Day, it is crucial to recognize that true reconciliation requires ongoing commitment and action from all sectors of society. This includes advocating for the rights of Indigenous peoples, supporting Indigenous-led initiatives, and fostering meaningful dialogue and understanding.
Get Involved
There are numerous ways individuals and communities can participate in National Indigenous Peoples Day:
1. Attend Local Events: Many communities host events such as powwows, cultural exhibitions, and storytelling sessions.
2. Educate Yourself: Take the time to learn about the history, traditions, and contemporary issues facing Indigenous peoples in Canada.
3. Support Indigenous Artists and Businesses: Purchase Indigenous art, crafts, and products to support local economies.
4. Advocate for Change: Raise awareness about Indigenous rights and support initiatives that promote equality and justice.
National Indigenous Peoples Day is not just a day on the calendar but a reminder of the ongoing journey towards healing, understanding, and mutual respect. By celebrating the cultures, achievements, and resilience of Indigenous peoples, we can contribute to a future where all peoples can thrive in harmony with each other and the natural world.
Let us use this day as an opportunity to listen, learn, and stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities as we strive for a more inclusive and equitable society for generations to come.

🇺🇸 The Haggadah, meaning "telling," is the centerpiece of the Passover Seder, where Jewish families recount the story of liberation from slavery in Egypt—a universal symbol of freedom. While all Haggadot share a similar structure, their designs vary greatly, from illuminated manuscripts like the Sarajevo Haggadah (14th century) to modern editions like the Maxwell House Haggadah, distributed by a coffee brand since 1922. Other adaptations include the San Diego Feminist Haggadah (1980) and the Freedom Seder Haggadah (1969), inspired by the Civil Rights Movement. In 2008, the Pitts Theology Library acquired two significant Haggadah collections, forming one of the largest repositories in the southern U.S. This text remains a testament to resilience and cultural adaptation over centuries.
