There’s something hollow behind his chest.

For years, his feelings had been pent up, held back. Every emotion hidden away, burning, begging to be released. A sensation that chewed him up from the inside, gnawing at whatever it could latch its teeth onto.

Now, there’s nothing. An emptiness that threatens to consume him. A vacancy akin to homesickness. A void.

Mandy yelled at him. Go find your boyfriend.

He enters the club and looks around. Scans the mass of bodies. Pushes through.

The lights pulse: blue, purple, pink, blue.

He spots him. His breath stops.
