Have the archivist ever tried to archive each other?

How would that go, they can use their powers against each other can't they? In like fights or smth and if archiving is just changing a creatures physical form into paper or a statue, wouldn't it be as simple as a sneak attack or knocking the victim out?

Oh but... archivist have A LOT of genetic information I wager, if the form they take is a "condensed" one correlating to the amount of power they have,, then it would take a very powerful amount of magic to: expand their forms, avoid retaliation, archive them, and then have them stay like that for any meaningful amount of time

Unless, they do it willingly just to test it? But with how painful(?) or jarring being archived is I can't imagine any of them volunteering

their form isnt related to physically but to the energy they contain, something difficult to store

but on whenever they would test it out- I could see Wayfarer and Architect going jackass, just to see what would happen. Sure might hurt but would be funny, like the electric button experiment

hey this isn’t aimed at anyone in particular but I’m saying it for the record here: if I tell you no, please stop messaging me about fundraisers and mutual aid.

I get enough messages that it’s impossible for me to keep up without devoting at least half an hour each day, when I’m not even on tumblr that long most days. Me having a boundary about this isn’t a moral failing, it’s a lifeboat for me on my own blog.

In my personal life I’m already advocating and donating literally as much as I can spare. This is not me not caring, it’s just me not willing to interact with that on the one place I go online to not interact with irl news and world events for the most part.

I cannot be upset all the time. I cannot be upset everywhere. I cannot use all my emotional and mental energy fielding my own upset from ongoing events. My options are to hold boundaries about this or stop coming online at all.

I’m all for sharing information and signal boosting to reasonable extents, but the scale of it this year is so large and so enduring that it is literally not possible to for me to participate on every account I have. I’ve previously shared links to Gaza eSIM donations and a major hub of verified Go Fund Mes here and elsewhere online. We, the online humans, know how to look those things up ourselves by now. There are many, many people choosing to do advocacy work, and right now, I can’t be one of them.

If you’re extremely upset when I tell you I can’t share/donate right now about a Gaza family or personal fundraiser you ask me to share here, just unfollow and block me. That’s what those buttons are for. Protect your own emotions and energy and get me off your feed instead of staying upset and continuing to engage with online people or content that upsets you.

Please don’t send repeated angry messages based on manufactured purity politics and moral outrage into my messages and inbox when I exercise the right to run my own blog.

It is time to unveil the final character in the Proctor Lineup!

Meet The Director!

The Director is an oc I made when I was first getting into The Stanley Parable after thinking ‘hey, I associate The Narrator with yellow and squares and The Curator with blue and triangles, what if there was a third one associated with red and circles?’ And thus, The Director was Born.

The three proctors are siblings that collectively watch over Earth to observe humans. They’re not really sure the exact reasons for doing so, other than the vague knowledge of humans being particularly dangerous toward their kind which they retained from the Informis Voxumis they split from. The Director is the ‘middle’ sibling based on how quickly they gained their bearings after the initial split, with the Curator having done so before them and the Narrator after. All of them grew increasingly curious about humans, and while the Curator went to spend time among them and brought one into her space and the Narrator created a human using the essence of one that had recently passed, The Director made a human completely by scratch. Funnily enough, none of them initially realized that the others had started interacting with humans, so for a while they were hiding it from each other until The Curator found out about Stanley through a slip up from The Narrator during a conversation. The Narrator thought he successfully covered it up but was proven wrong when The Curator connected her museum to his parable and added the museum ending. They found out about The Directors human last since they tend to be much better at keeping to themselves, though The Director was aware of the other two’s protagonists.

The Director’s story is called ‘The Allegory of Grey’, because it knew that doing so would bother The Narrator, not only because ‘It’s blatant plagiarism of my work, my ideas!’ but also because Grey’s given last name is Anderson and it’s funny to hear the Narrator rant about the ‘wasted potential, I mean seriously, you could have used alliteration right there! ‘The Allegory of Anderson’ has much better flow and I know you agree so why would you not change it?!’. It loves messing with its siblings and once it finds out about TK they become best buddies and everyone suffers for it. TK loves being the distraction while The Director works in the background. The Director messes with The Curator far less because they know that she has little tolerance for their shenanigans and will toss them out of her space. The Director was the one to come up with the sibling’s last name, and had only chosen it so that when you said it’s full name out loud it would sound like ‘Director’. This bothers the other two, but they don’t argue too much because honestly Torrent is a pretty good last name to be stuck with when you’re as dramatic as these three. Stanley and Mariella are friends with The Director and Grey and will sometimes come down to ‘The Studio’ to hang out, chat, and chill.

Due to the Directors love of horror and built up frustration at having to watch humanity to ensure they don’t become a threat, it builds The Allegory. The Allegory is a sandbox initially made to take their frustration out on a ‘human’ by subjecting them to whatever horror thing they were interested in exploring. The Director takes inspiration from the countless types of horror games and movies that exist in play style, themes, monsters, etc. They think about putting a real human in it, but that would raise some suspicion as messing with the plane of existence humans live on would cause noticeable interference. So they created a human that was essentially an ai that would follow orders and experience whatever new horrors The Director wanted to explore. Grey and The Director initially start out as opposing forces similarly to Stanley and The Narrator, but they slowly warm up to each other as The Director first realizes they are sentient, and then actually considers the impact that living through the allegory might have on their psyche. Grey does not forgive The Director immediately, in fact, it takes a very long time and a lot of effort on The Director’s part to improve for Grey to even consider it. One of the things they bond over is art and painting, which led to them painting each other in their down time once The Director gets a human form.

One thing to note about the siblings human forms is that they are incredibly difficult to make, and trying to make tweaks can lead to accidentally unraveling the form and having to start over. Furthermore, the Informis Voxumis method of splitting into new entities to reproduce has a few requirements to ensure that they are strong enough to use all of their abilities and won’t be stunted when doing things such as taking new forms. This is why all three siblings need glasses and The Director needs hearing aids. The Narrator has asthma and blood pressure issues in his human form, while The Curator has arthritis and several allergies, mostly mild skin allergies but some are more severe. All three get migraines all of the time and have some kind of back problems that occasionally lead to the use of canes.

This post is getting super long so I’ll leave you with these last images. I’ll have a profile for Grey done in the future, but if you go back to the very first piece of artwork I posted, you can see them in the background behind Mariella! That appearance is how they first looked when The Director created them. It’s kind of interesting that there aren’t a lot of original characters that people make for this game. I’ve seen some office sona’s but not really other characters that are like The Narrator or Curator. At least I haven’t seen them so maybe I’m looking in the wrong places. I actually find it really sad that people's response to missing some allusion in fiction is to say the story did a bad job of explaining it rather than to think "maybe I should read closer next time" or "maybe the target audience for this piece has some context that I don't and it's worth my time to gain some of that context before reading more stories like these". And I mean sad, not in a condescending way, but in an "it genuinely hurts my heart and I wish I could help" way.

it's time for another episode of desk posting!

I'm still in the guts of plotting out Bad Governance, it's a very fun but very dense puzzle to figure out on account of Keeping Track Of All The Election Cycles, which drive the interpersonal drama.

also crammed in there is my current ideas notebook, because I was jotting down some stray thoughts I had about Jack the Giant Killer, and I'll probably cycle back to it in a month or two with another idea that ties everything together and transforms it from a collection of thoughts to 'ohhhhh I want to turn this into a comic for real.'

Thank you very much for all the new followers as of late! I'm really glad to see people like the silly art idea I had for the blog. However! I am hoping to get back into the other side of this blog - roleplaying - and I want to run through some things. Unlike those art posts, these are a little different in terms of potential reblogs. I just want to quickly share some common rules for this.

NOT OKAY TO REBLOG:

Any roleplay threads. These are between myself and one other person at a time. They will always have a tag that starts with "v;" (eg. "v; a lovely day in the neighborhood"). In the roleplay world, it's considered rude to reblog a post you aren't involved with, even worse if an outsider decides to "insert" themselves into a story that they aren't part of.

Asks or art I reblog from another roleplayer. Some writers I know do not like their notifications being clogged. If you aren't sure, please check the other person's pinned post on their blog, but take it that it is not okay to share until you know for sure.

Art I make for another roleplayer, especially if it's an OC. I can't speak on behalf of other writers and whether they want content of their muses going outside a "circle", so I'm playing it safe here.

Headcanons. For the most part, the blog focuses on the "show" aspect rather than the "website" aspect, so things are generally fairly mundane. Certain things might not make sense outside of the context of the blog. I'm not super strict on this one, but do be considerate. If it sounds niche enough to potentially confuse someone who doesn't know my blog, then it's probably not worth reblogging it.

Something that I find interesting about any kind of algorithm, or lack there of, on social media apps is the way some people now get their news. Like my main used social apps are tumblr, YouTube, and YikYak (this app has a point system for when people find me funny and therefore has a dopamine chokehold on me) and I never have any idea what is happening in the actually news unless I go looking for it.

Like right now on tumblr the popular tags make no immediate sense to me until I dig into what’s happening and look for myself. The tags seem very random, but if you know what’s going on you can see that it’s Palestine, social justice, and human rights because a big political war is going on and something just happened with it. The superbowl and Travis Kelce are trending bc the Super Bowl just happened and Travis Kelce was in it and something just happened. The Deadpool trailer just dropped and people are excited, something is happening with the Sims, and photography is really taking off. I didn’t even know those things were happening.

And if you look at either my for you page, or my following page, I am seeing none of it because my fav bakugou x reader headcannon writer just dropped several posts and I will be devouring it all immediately.

Mad Hatters Disease

an exciting tidbit found while putting together the textile handling/display policy for my museum - Until 1941, mercury (or more specifically mercuric nitrate) was used by milliners (makers of womens hats) to stiffen rabbit and beaver fur into felt.

As milliners worked in often poorly-ventilated rooms, such prolonged exposure of mercury vapors lead to chronic mercury poisoning, dubbed "Mad Hatters Disease". Some symptoms included tremors, headaches, insomnia, emotional instability, and psychosis including hallucinations.

Because this illness was so common among Milliners, the phrase "Mad as a Hatter" was created!

there’s little to no zadr on this blog, my art or others, because it’s simply not my thing. i’m a huge fan of zadf, and i grew up with the idea that it couldn’t be anything but zade.

I HAVE NO BEEF WITH ZADR and my followers need to know this. it’s a massive part of the fandom. it makes up so much of the incredible art we see and the heart-wrenching fanfics we read! when it comes to the media Invader ZIM itself, it’s not integral. when it comes to the fandom, i’m sorry but…it’s definitely integral.

just…this blog is my house and since i am a big fan of zadf, that’s all you see (if i ever draw them which is not often apparently LOL). obviously these two characters are far from what i draw the most BUT i can’t promise you’ll never see them lol
