Happy Vesak! A Celebration of Light and Awakening
Today is Vesak, Happy Vesak!! Vesak, also known as Buddha Purnima, is the most sacred day for Buddhists. Image taken on internet It commemorates three key moments in the life of Gautama Buddha: his birth, his enlightenment, and his Parinirvana (passing away). Buddhists observe it on the full moon of the lunar month of Vesakha (usually falling in April, May, or June). This year, 2024, Vesak…

Eastern Philosophy: Japanese Martial Arts & Mental Development
The martial arts of Japan speak about mental development and also certain mental states or spiritual realizations that allow one to survive confrontation. Three of these mental or spiritual states are fudoshin, junanshin, and mushin. Fudoshin is the realization of equanimity or a state of mind where we are not disturbed by anything. It is like a mountain being stable despite fierce winds circling it. In this state of equanimity, thoughts such as a fear of danger, emotions, or obstacles do not disturb the person. Another mental state is junanshin and this can be translated as “flexibility of the mind.” If one is being attacked or is in conflict, instead of trying to fit a situation into our preconceived ideas of what should be the case, one is able to adapt appropriately, move freely, and not be attached to anything. Another mental state is mushin or “no mind” and this also relates to non-attachment and openness. Again, it is moving freely clinging to nothing. If we have very conceptual ways of thinking during a conflict and we plan what we are going to do to the other person by thinking such thoughts as, “If they punch, I’ll do this. If they grab me here, I’ll do that,” this emits an intent that the opponent can sense. In this case, they can take preemptive steps. Moving freely means not only moving freely physically, but mentally, being completely free. A famous figure of the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism in Japan was Takuan Soho. He wrote about martial arts and Zen and also spoke about moving freely, being attached to nothing, and clinging to nothing.

Hey guys I'm new here, and I'm happy to be using @tumblrapp but I want to speak on something
It's going to be my very first blog:The music I posted is an homicidal song targeted at someone going through a mental breakdown,if we listen clearly we'd notice that the people are doing everything they can to put him down and he's trying to shut them up.
Society has so blinded us to think that it's okay to feel sad and we end up escalating our negative thoughts to commiting suicide which should not be so.
Here are some helpful tips to avoid society downgrading:
Improve in your self esteem
Know who you are
Be positive and Affirmative
Cut bad circles off
Accept your mistakes and Work on being better
Encourage yourself a lot.
I wish you luck in this very tips, drop your comments and let me know how well you can use the tips.❤️❤️

maybe the reason people are still running from the truth that nobody is ever entitled to forgiveness, is because they have a fundamental misunderstanding about what forgiveness will even do for them. the expectation of receiving forgiveness after "making things right again," as if forgiveness is a reward, more often than not just traps people in the same repetitive cycle of mistakes and harm. they lose their commitment to change. forgiveness sets you free. and so it's dangerous when you break your chains before you've even attempted to look within yourself and understand why you're like this. this certainty that you must and will be forgiven is why you feel so much pain when its not given to you. you assume they didn't forgive you because "you just werent good enough, you didnt try hard enough, and you'll never be good enough, because all that inner work was pointless and meaningless. yes, the good actions you took were pointless, because no reward! why even try?" in the long-run, this is what will hold you back from true change and growth. forgiveness is not a reward, or any kind of consequence for good behavior. if you do not accept this, you are going to feel so hurt when you find out that this person still hates you. so shocked, that retreating to your former self becomes seemingly more comforting.
the only thing you need is so much harder to attain than mere forgiveness. how many people are you going to hurt till you realize this is the only way: to come out of this cycle a better person, conscious of your flaws, knowing the kinds of impulsive behaviors that jump out when you are triggered, knowing what the triggers are themselves, and practicing healthier alternatives to address those impulses. to become someone kind, considerate, patient, and all that jazz, not for a special reward waiting for you at the finishing line, but simply because having those qualities matters enough. that's hard. thats so much fucking harder than being set free of your guilt, your concerns about your problems, and any desire to change. but its better for you! and everyone around you! even if you ARE forgiven – you've got to say to them, "Thank you, that's kind, but this doesn't end here. If I don't do it to you again, I could still do it to someone else. I'm glad you're feeling better, but please know that you can always take it back." And personally? I would want the people close to me to be just that. Kind without the promise to be liked, now or ever again.

one of the most catastrophic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic that nobody talks about is how fucking developmentally delayed you can become from it even as an adult
i'm autistic, and it's weird, because my maturity is always usually around 3-5 years behind everyone else at any given point, even though i still have the mentality of someone my age.
here's the scary thing: when i was 18/19, i had the maturity of a ~15 year old. i'm almost 22, and i have the maturity of....i dunno, a 16 year old? maybe 17.
now i'm an old fucking bitch, and i'm still thinking like some spring chicken. it's the most horrible thing in my life and i'm scared i'll never truly "grow up"
#ash ranting#ash venting#mental health#mental development#fuck my life#i should have died when i was 19#that was my original plan#every day i live to regret not doing it

A King Seeking Absolute Power Can Do No Wrong And Cannot Be Held Accountable, Says Supreme Court Verdict - Where Is Uncorruptible King And Kingdom? Chess And Life Lessons
Life Is Like A Game Of Chess A chessboard has many pieces on it, including a king. A king symbolizes a persons life, and once a life is lost, symbolically, that is the same as losing the king piece via a checkmate, on the chessboard of life. In chess, generally there is no cheating, no corruption, no politics, no profit motive, no illegal or legal distinctions. The game of chess symbolizes life…

GLOW UP GUIDE FOR 2025⠀
READ: On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And considering that 2025 is precisely these many days away, why not start with our glow up plan already?
Physical Glow Up-
BODY
— 5-10K steps a day.
— 7-8 hours of sleep.
— workout everyday for 1 hr atleast- yoga/stretching/pilates/cardio/lifting weights. a workout may take one hour, but your mood will be boosted for the next 12 hours.
— posture training.
— sunlight exposure after waking up for at least 10 minutes.
NUTRITION
— 2-3 liters of water every day.
— limit your caffeine intake.
— avoid sugars as much as you can.
— high protein diet, pre and probiotics.
— more fruits and veggies (+ green smoothies if you like).
— no junk/processed food/trans fat.
— no eating after 8 pm.
SKINCARE
— be clear on your skin type (oily, dry, combination, sensitive).
— once you're clear, use these accordingly- cleanser, toner, targeted serum, eye cream, moisturizer, sunscreen (≥50 spf).
— keep your bedding clean as well.
— no picking of skin on your lips, cuticle etc.
— gua sha to help improve blood circulation and lessen toxins.
— cold therapy may take three to five minutes of being uncomfortable, but your energy levels will be boosted for the rest of the day.
— remove makeup before you go to bed.
BODY CARE
— shower every day.
— exfoliate 2x a week.
— use body lotion (shea butter/aloe vera gel/coconut oil).
HAIR CARE
— wash hair 2-3x a week
— oil your scalp 2x a week, at least 3 hours before shampoo.
— hair mask 1x per week.
— never brush wet hair.
— use silk pillow case.
HYGIENE
— brush your teeth 2x a day, clean tongue and the roof of the mouth daily.
— floss daily.
— cut your nails 1x a week, never remove the cuticles.
— glycolic acid under arm for odor and discoloration.
— never use soap on your coochie.
Mental Glow Up-
MINDSET
— set clear goals- define and breakdown your aspirations.
— start your mornings with positive affirmations.
— surround yourself with uplifting content and people.
— be shamelessly selfish to your career and mental health, remove anyone or anything that doesn't align with your priorities and wellbeing.
— boost your brain health by these 4 neuroscience tools:
difficult first: start your day with the most difficult task (cortisol and dopamine are high in the body meaning that your body/mind is primed to work).
rest your eyes: introduce a micro-pause after learning by resting/closing your eyes - will help retain information better.
tomorrow's worries: write tomorrow's to-do list before bed as it is proven to be effective in helping you fall asleep.
find time to play: engage in low-stake play. can be anything you find fun but where the outcome doesn't matter (induces neuroplasticity + reduces stress).
MIND
— meditation might take as low as ten minutes, but your focus will be improved for the rest of the day.
— no social media after waking up and at least an hour before bed.
— keep aside 1 hr of time to read daily! reading a new book may take five hours, but you will keep the knowledge forever.
— journaling, gratitude.
— digital detox once a week or for 12 hours.
— limit unnecessary screentime, unfollow or cut off people you don't want to see.
JOURNALING
— choose a regular time each day to journal, making it a part of your routine.
— find a quiet, comfortable place free from distractions. light a candle if you want.
— allow your thoughts to flow without censoring or editing.
— write about your feelings and emotions to understand them better. write about things you are thankful for to boost your mood. write about your short-term and long-term goals. identify what triggers certain emotions or reactions
— set a timer for 5-10 minutes and write continuously during that time.
— reflect on both positive experiences and challenges.
— make lists, journal your thoughts on these questions.
— journal at night to clear your mind before bedtime, because emotions and thoughts lose their power once we acknowledge them.
— a gratitude practice may take five minutes, but your mindset will be shifted for the rest of the day.
AFFIRMATIONS
— customise affirmations to your needs.
Personal Life-
WEEKLY TASKS
— initiate small changes: begin with small, manageable tasks such as making your bed or cleaning your room every sunday.
— celebrate your success: reward yourself when you achieve your goals or have a consistently productive week. consider treats like buying flowers for yourself or watching your favorite show.
DAILY WORK
— set achievable goals: establish realistic goals for the day, week, or month ahead.
— track your progress.
— organise your work space, declutter your shelves etc.
— embrace the power of lists: keep a list of tasks to be done and their deadlines. this way, you start each day with a clear plan. to make it visually appealing and motivating, consider using productivity apps like evernote, habit tracker, or notion.
PRODUCTIVITY TIPS
— wake up early.
— plan ahead everything, do scheduling. you can use:
google calendar / notion / tasks .
— if the task takes less than 2 minutes to finish, do it immediately.
— countdown rule, if you are procrastinating, count 1-2-3-4-5 and jump.
— start slow, don't rush and try to do everything at one time.
— follow a proper routine, use app locks based on screentime.
— pomodoro technique, 25 min work, and 5 min break.
— schedule longer break times as well e.g 30 min nap.

productivity apps for self improvement
pinterest
you know i had to include the ultimate form of social media. pinterest is one of the only truly peaceful social media apps out there and focuses on sharing photos to your themed boards. this app is everything if you’re into making vision boards, moodboards, beauty, productivity, and really anything else. there’s something there for everyone!
finch
this is a wonderful self-care app, in which you take care of a bird while taking care of yourself! this is my new favorite app. i use the free version and it is adorable. the app asks you some questions about your goals and how you feel about self care, and gives you some daily goals based on your answers, but you can delete and add goals of your own. the more you log in and track your goals, the more adventures your bird can go on and the more they grow. i recommend this app to absolutely everyone and i will never shut up about it.
gymshark training
this is a free training app including many different types and styles of workouts. you can search for workouts based on duration, equipment used, the targeted muscle, and so on. you can also add workouts and plans of your own and track your progress.
i am sober
this is my favorite app for if you have something you want to quit. this isn’t just for substances or alcohol, but can also be used for quitting sugar, skin picking, caffeine, fast food, and so many other things. you can track your progress, review your days, make pledges, and connect with others who are struggling with the same thing you are. you are also given motivational quotes and reminders when you log into the app. there is an option for a subscription, but i use the free version and have had no problems with it at all.
study bunny: focus timer
an adorable focus timer where you gain coins with every goal/time you accomplish something with your focus timer and you can spend your coins on cute little accessories for your bunny! the only real issue with this app is that the ads are kind of crazy, and it’s $15 a month to go ad-free.
flora - green focus
this app includes a pomodoro timer and plants a tree in a rural community based on how often you stay focused using the timer on the app. the app does not plant a tree unless you opt for their subscription, which is $2 per year and allows you to plant one tree for 120 hours of focused time. you can also plant a tree every 24 hours with the $10 plan.
focus to-do: focus timer&tasks
this app combines a pomodoro timer with a daily to-do list. the app is free to use, but includes additional features for those with a subscription, which is $3 for every three months or $9 for a lifetime membership.
balance: meditation & sleep
a great app that includes nightly reviews, meditations, and sleep sounds. this app has great reviews, but it’s worth noting that it’s not completely free. it includes a trial, after which is $12 per month, or $70 per year.
insight timer - meditate & sleep
just as it sounds, this is another great app for meditations, ambient sounds for sleep, and progress tracking. there are tons of free things included in the app, but if you want to unlock everything, the premium plan is $10 per month or $60 per year.
structured - daily planner
an app with great reviews intended to help organize your daily tasks into achievable goals and track your progress. the app has basic features for free, but also includes a premium subscription if you want to unlock all the features.
routineflow: guided routines
this app caters to those who have difficulties staying focused and maintaining a set routine by guiding your routine for you and managing your progress. the app gives you one routine for free, but if you want another, you would need to pay for the $30 annual subscription.
how we feel
a wonderful free journaling app developed by therapists and scientists for logging your emotions, talking to other users, and tracking your mood patterns.
gentler streak fitness tracker
if you’re tired of the constant work and grind mentality, this may be the app for you. this app takes a gentler approach to fitness by tracking exercise, giving encouragement, and notifying you if you are overworking yourself. the app itself is free, but certain features require a subscription, which is $8 per month or $50 per year.
glo | yoga and meditation app
glo is a highly rated app for yoga, pilates, and meditation. unlike most of the other apps listed, you can’t really access much on glo for free. to access the full courses, they offer two plans: $30 per month or $245 per year.
waterllama
another adorable app that lets you track your water intake with a cute llama! super motivating and is free for basic features. if you want to unlock all features, the subscription is $7 per year.
mindllama
made by the same people as waterllama, this app allows you to practice and track your meditation and breathwork practice with a cute llama! like waterllama, the app is free, but some features require a subscription, which varies depending on whether you want the premium plan, the anxiety relief plan, or the sleep focused plan.
daily bean - simplest journal
another super cute app that helps you track your days and moods. the app itself is free, but a premium plan is also offered, which is $20 per year.
schmoody: mood & habit tracker
this app aims to help you through depression, anxiety, and/or adhd by helping you track your habits, talk to other users, and give you the resources to get you back on track. the free version includes the “essentials” to support mental health and well-being, but they also offer a premium version, which unlocks more resources and personalized options. the subscription is $15 per month, $60 per year, or $100 for a lifetime membership.
meditation timer - zenitizer
this is a meditation timer that focuses on simplicity and organization while tracking your meditation practice. a free version is available with a limited amount of content, but a premium version is also offered, which is $3 per month, $20 per year, or a $50 one-time payment.
mineral - gratitude journal
this is a free journaling app that is secure in the fact that you have to use face id in order to access your journal. this app is definitely more simple, but effective nonetheless.
focus keeper: productive timer
this app is a popular pomodoro-style timer app. i’ve heard that this app works wonders for many people with adhd. the app is free, but includes additional content and features for those with a subscription.

𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐩 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝.
first level
start with the basics. eat healthier, exercise daily (this can be a 10 minute walk or an hour work out, doesn't matter; just do something) sleep 7-9 hours, shower every day, and clean your space.
second level
journal daily. start simple with talking about your day or writing about your favourite things.
listen to subliminals at night. spotify has a lot of playlists.
meditate with affirmations daily. i listen to thewizardliz's affirmation video while focusing on my breathing and relaxing my body.
speak kind to yourself and others. don't talk down on yourself, try not to judge, remind yourself that it's okay to make mistakes...
read books instead of doomscrolling. replace your social media screentime with reading a book.
make time for the people and things you love. even though you might be really busy with school or work, don't forget to be present. plan trips with your friends, eat dinner with your family, play that instrument that you liked so much, participate in team sports, be creative, etc.
third level
invest in a good skincare & oral care routine. this does not have to be expensive at all. i use the cerave cleanser and moisurizer and exfoliate 2 times a week. if you need to, use more but be careful it aligns with your skintype! brush your teeth two to three times a day, use a tongue scraper, chew gum, go to the dentist/orthodontist, whiten your teeths.
experiment with personal style. this includes hair, fashion, makeup, accessorizing, music, etc... don't follow trends if it's not what you actually like. have fun with it (for example, go shopping with your friends and try on stuff you would never glance at!)
shave your body. i personally use an epilator on my legs and a shaver under my arms. my mama advices me to not shave my arms or on my tummy, but honestly do what you think is best here.
pluck your eyebrows. i only pluck hairs that is going "outside" the shape of my eyebrows and just keep them looking mantained.
keep your nails clean. don't bite and don't get dirt underneath them. you can also polish them but you obviously don't have to.
these things are usually more expensive
get your nails done. in my experience it is around the €40-€80 to get them done in a salon. at home it's way less expensive because you only have to buy the equipment once and can use it for more than one time. i prefer doing them at home!
get an eyelash lift. i have gotten an lift for €35 but i've also seen people paint and lift them for more. it basically just lifts up your eyelashes and makes it look like your wearing mascara 24/7.
fake tan your body. i honestly have never done this, but after research, i found out it isn't damaging to your skin at all. you can buy self tanner at your local drugstore and at tanning salons.
