thoughts on a singlet(?) whose emotions/emotional states have distinct genders & vaguely-kinda-mostly chose human names for themselves?

these names/genders are consistent and distinct, and may have several of them ‘covering’ different aspects of the same emotion, or may have one covering different (but related) emotions. they’re not truly autonomous, don’t talk/communicate with me, aren’t present all (or even most) of the time, and don’t do things that surprise me. the most unexpected they get is when they suddenly change and my gender shifts suddenly & i’m comfy/prefer a different name

Hm, well, first thoughts are that plurality and singlecy are both spectrums, ones that don't exactly have a clearly defined boundary, and it sounds like you are somewhere in that grey area.

You may find the term parasian helpful - a term that refers to median systems who are towards the singlet end of the plural spectrum.

You may look into servitors, something I believe even singlets can commonly have, iwrc.

You may also want to examine the diagnosis of Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder and corresponding nondisordered neurodivergence of Immersive Daydreaming to see if these may actually be paras, as our understanding is that paras tend to not have the autonomy that headmates do, with the exceptions of paratives/paragenic systems.

It is also possible that you could be a singlet experiencing something akin to IFS naturally, have a desire to use multiple names due to gender or alterhuman reasons - and may even experience your emotions as compartmentalized in this way for alterhuman reasons as well. (Alterhuman encompasses plurality as well, but is a wider umbrella label, and you may fall elsewhere under it.)

The label pluralflux may also be somewhat meaningful.

Plural nonsystem especially stands out to us from your description, as it can include non-autonomous parts or even states - the wiki entry specifically says states as in BPD, but my experience with BPD even outside of plurality sounds like it may simply be the disordered version of what you may experience in a nondisordered way (or possibly disordered as well, I can't tell from the ask).

Some further thoughts that may be helpful: You could easily label yourself plural or singlet according to what is the most helpful framework for conceptualizing your own consciousness(es).

Do you have any desire to be plural? Would you (a) like these parts of you to be more separate, have more autonomy, and be responsive? Would you (b) prefer they be more integrated with less autonomy? Are you (c) perfectly happy existing as you are now?

If the answer is a, you may want to look into tulpa/willogenic creation guides. If b, IFS may still help, as might looking into fusion. If c, you're golden, just try to balance your desire for a label with the time it takes to find one that settles comfortably on you.

Remember that labels are just to help us best understand ourselves. There's no getting it wrong. If a label fits or seems to fit for a time and then is no longer useful, it still helped us for that period, and we can Marie Kondo it and thank it for its service to us before discarding it. Going into a label knowing it may not be permanent - like a relationship, that it may be a fling or lifelong, can be helpful in being gentle and patient with ourselves as we figure it out.

You are welcome to ask further questions about any of this, and if you do settle on a label (or lack thereof), we'd always be happy to hear about it! We hope any of this may be helpful and wish you besf of luck in figuring it out. ^^

Hello there, fellow sufferer of brain rot! 😋

🎃 pumpkin: do you have any favorite brainstorming techniques? how do you like to gather ideas for your wip?

Ohhh, that's a tough one! In summary, you could call it ‘It came to me in a dream’. I have a strong tendency towards maladaptive daydreaming and have been making up little fake scenarios since I was a child, which I then watch in my head before falling asleep. (Yes, I am mentally ill 😅) At some point, I started writing these fake scenarios down and since they were mostly about my fictional or celebrity crushes, that's how I got into writing fanfiction in the first place. Nowadays, my basic ideas for stories still arise from this, and then I sit down and approach the whole thing ‘professionally’. First of all, I create a brain dump, which includes everything that's in my head. In the next step, I sort it chronologically, as it would make sense in a plot. And then I stuff the whole thing into an Idea to Outline form. (I downloaded it from Abbie Emmons when it was still free and I think it's really good; I used it to put together Dealings with Daedra: Boethiah's Wrath. And then it's on to chapter plotting, where what I've accumulated in the form is meticulously broken down. Then, finally, I start writing! 😁 I used to be an absolute pancer and that's why I've abandoned several fics. I just can't handle a lone vibe well, I have to structure and plot the whole thing so that I don't end up at a dead end. Another great source of inspiration for ideas is music – I can always use it to capture a vibe. Sometimes ideas just come to me when I listen to lyrics. And then comes the fear of plagiarising 😂

🍂 leaves: what does your editing process look like? how does your wip typically change as you work on it?

Okay, don't do, what I do. I tend to edit while writing and it makes the whole process so damn slow! I just can't resist to change things up as soon as I have to re-read to get back into the story. Terrible habit, actually. When the chapter is done, my boyfriend is forced to read it. He does not do it with everything tho - pure smut (and toxic shit) ist not his thing and I do not want to put that on him. Also, he often says he can't help with that, because he has no idea about smut. (My argument that the scene structure is like every other scene did not help tho 🙃) As soon as he has read it and made his comments on it, I'll edit those. Then I transfer the text to my ipad and read it on there - pro tip btw! Change the screen and you'll find mistakes easier! After that round of editing comes the last step: I have my writing programme read it to me. I am very blind for mistakes and hearing that something is off helps a lot! And still, there will be mistakes in my text afterwards - usually I find them as soon as the chapter is uploaded... 🫠

🌙 moon: do any of your OCs have dark backstories or secrets they’re trying to keep?

Eve, I have to spoil you for that info!!! Yes, Nevri has a dark backstory and secrets she tries to keep. As you would expect from Boethiah's Champion. In DwD: Boethiah's Wrath she reveals it in chapter 19: The killing of a Nord. I'll leave it vague here but uhm... As we all know, one has to sacrifice someone to become a part of Boethiah's cult. And who that was and the reasons behind that, that's something he rather tries to keep hidden. And for DwD: The Curse of Molag Bal it's basically the main plot that she has to keep a secret and that brings a whole lot of trouble to her. Not gonna say more of this, because spoilers and so on 😁

✨🌙 I’ve seen Leo moon women show people their emotions through styling their hair. As y’all should. Show them how it’s done 😌

✨🌙 Taurus Mars can be extremely stubborn when they firmly believe in something. It’s sometimes really frustrating trying to get them to think otherwise. Or make them see from another perspective.

✨🌙 Mutable Mercury I’ve noticed adapt into new ideas very quick. Not a surprise tbh.

✨🌙 I know so many people say water placements can be prone to drug addiction but have y’all ever seen water placements addicted to maladaptive daydreaming? It gets worse than drug addiction.

✨🌙 A lot of the times from what I’ve seen Virgo placements and hygiene is really true even if they don’t care much for it, they are usually surrounded by someone significant that makes them care about it.

✨🌙 I’ve seen people with prominent planets in the 18th degree actually go through a lot of suffering in their lives.

✨🌙 Libra sign/degree midheaven can really fantasise about working in the arts or being seen as creative and boujee.

✨🌙 Cancer placements can show emotions but once they mature they can be great at hiding their emotions. If they want to you can never truly know what’s exactly going on in their lives.

✨🌙 Aquarius moon can actually have very high standards for themselves and when they don’t meet it, they can really get depressed.

✨🌙 Taurus moons, their moods can change depending on the music they listen too. One minute they’re dancing the next crying. I know that happens to everyone but I’ve seen it take a lot of effect on Taurus moons in specific.

✨🌙 Black moon Lilith in gemini can be into open relationships.

✨🌙 I’ve seen so many Capricorn placements that can actually “play the part” to attract potential suitors. Seen it happen way too many times.

✨🌙 Venus in Capricorn can’t deal with immature or overly emotional partners for too long even if it’s an arranged marriage there’s a time when they get fed up of the constant emotional outbursts. That’s why a lot of them look for emotionally stable partners in the first place.
