#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #lan wangji #jin zixun #wei wuxian #su she #(Su She needs to have his carrie moment before he can have his Carrie Moment.#Which means he needs to exist as a punching bag before he can hit 'em with the rebound).#My first draft of this comic had WWX slurping LWJ's wine per actual scene canon #As it really is a great scene of how WWX is willing to absorb the scandal and harm that befalls others.#It had a lot less to do with it being LWJ and more so that WWX just happens to be the kind of person who refuses to turn a blind eye.#It could have been any Lan who was being pressured (inappropriately) to drink (do not pressure anyone to drink irl PLEASE).#Because this is a romance plot it of course *is* LWJ. But don't forget that in this moment they aren't on great terms.#It's not a knight in shining armor moment - it's a 'you were being treated unjustly and I have the power to absolve you from that.'#And as we are very soon about to see - WWX certainly cannot turn away from those who need aid he can provide.#And like Jin Guangyao; that kindness is also his downfall.#By the way - that you all for the amazing community commentary on the last comic. I really loved reading everyone's thoughts!#Suyao shippers...I get it now. You had me at 'wen ning and WWX parallels'. something i really really enjoy about garak's character every time i rewatch ds9 is how fucking messy he is. and like, obviously he is an incredibly interesting man who relies on ephemera and subtext to survive, taped together with trauma and his own convictions, but he's also a messy bitch in the real housewives sense as well. he would be so at home on a bravo reunion set with a glass full of wine. his entire storyline in 2x05 is him digging up dirt on dukat just bc he wants to be a huge bitch. character of all time.

Meeting people 35+ participating in fandom spaces is so refreshing. Idk why, but we’ve developed this hive mentality that you’re supposed to stop enjoying things once you reach a certain age. Remember that your favorite dramas, movies, comics, manga, books, anime, cartoons, etc., are written and created by people who have been around the sun for a few decades.

#let’s stop alienating people 25+ for liking what they like #those fics you enjoy so much are sometimes written by people in my age group or older #it comes with experience and age #i legit look back on some of the things i wrote when i was 21 versus now and i’m envious of who i was before but also baffled because #i’ve come a long way with my experiences #that smut that makes your toes curl is written by someone who’s aged like fine wine #that angst that squeezes your heart is written by someone who’s had their heart broken a few times
