Our house was destroyed by the bombing, but my husband went out for treatment outside Gaza. I live only with suffering in a tent in the middle of a street in Khan Yunis. We live with difficulties and the heat of the sun inside the tents does not reach my little sisters. The occupation deprived me of my husband and then my studies in laboratory medicine, where they helped me to meet my husband and achieve my dream. Reminder that notes/online attention are not a reliable indicator of how well a campaign is going.

You might see fundraising posts with thousands of notes on your dash daily and think to yourself "this person must be doing fine!"

I wish that were true. I saw a post earlier referring to people with fundraisers as "those fortunate enough to have internet clout" but unfortunately internet clout is not a currency that can buy food and other necessities. It's only a testament to how much effort that person spends desperately networking in order to make ends meet, and often not succeeding at that. These people do not have an advantage.

I spotlight for @dr-anas96 and his posts consistently get a lot of notes. He's vetted here.

And where does that get him?

He's barely at 19% of his goal, as of today, December 13th, which marks 6 months since he started fundraising.

Anas is slowly dying of starvation and of his illnesses that he cannot currently get treated for. Don't be fooled by the amount of notes this will get. If you can spare a dollar please don't hesitate to donate here.

The thought of a child accidentally seeing something of a gruesome nature through a phone screen alone is upsetting. The thought of a child witnessing something of that sort, even for a singular moment, is horrifying.

The knowledge that Gazan children have been endlessly living through unspeakable trauma for over 400 days now, waking up to it, falling asleep to it, experiencing it through themselves and through their loved ones is bleak beyond words. Nothing else seems to matter anymore beyond that.

Today I'm thinking of my friend Nader @abdelsalam1990 who is only 17. On the precipice of adulthood. One of many of an entire generation of Gazans who are growing up through this genocide. When he should be discovering more of the world and himself, pursuing his passions, studying new things, making memories, he is instead restlessly appealing to strangers on the internet for his family's sake because their lives depend on it.

@ahmedalnabih23 is a 33 year old Palestinian currently displaced in Gaza with his family. They lived a normal life until the genocide started. Now they live in a tent that isn't good enough to protect them from the environment. Their home was destroyed, and they are faced with freezing cold temperatures, starvation and lack of access to medicine

Now, Ahmed's wife is pregnant, and this makes them very happy, but it also means they need even more support for medication, food and other necessities. They've been fundraising for a very long time, but their campaign is moving very slowly, and they urgently need donations, as they have no other source of income
