What’s your favorite type(s) of pokemon? Do you have any favorite starters? Or preferred starter types?

My favorite type is grass or water but I also love bug and fairy types.

My favorite starters are Bulbasaur and Popplio. I don’t usually care for fire-type starters but they caught me with the Fennekin line back in VI.

Fomantis/Lurantis and Lapras are probably my all time favorite Pokémon.

My Favorite types are Ghost and Dragon ! I've always been obsessed with anything dragon related and anything spooky so these two are just perfect for me.

Favorite starter is Torterra, which one the first starter I got on the first game I owed, Diamond ! Just love this big turtle.

And preferred Starter type, Grass is usually my fav, but it really depends on games. I had to check every starters and count which type I usually take and saw that Grass comes up on top with 5 starters chosen out of the 9 total !

Love that you mentioned Fomantis and Lurantis, I don't hear a lot about those guys, but they are really cool aren't they ? Fomantis is so baby, and I always found Lurantis very fashionable. Those pants ...

Lapras is an all time classic and I always agree <3

I'm a really big fan of the bug type, it has some of my favorite designed pokemon, and if I was a gym leader, I'd be a bug type gym leader. My team would be some variation of Scizor, Yanmega, Galvantula, Volcarona, Golisopod, and my ace Scolipede.

You give off a mix of ghost, fire, and dragon type energy to me, dragon is at the forefront tho.

Also, I crocheted these lads during quarantine, I love them so much, they're my sons. I made more but I gave them to my friends so I unfortunately don't have pics of all of them.

Absolutely love the bug type, I think it has some of the coolest and cutest little guys. Been obsessed with caterpie and wurmple as of late. Just adorable :3

Boxers go on fine, and then Price gets the absolutely glorious experience of watching Nik hike those jeans up 'til the waistband reaches his arse and bulge, and they're so thick, so large, that they defy his efforts to get dressed any further.

Not the most knowledgeable about Pokemon so when a friend showed me Comfrey I was so endeared I couldn't stop thinking about it. My favourite Pokemon now.. Just my luck there was a plush of it at the Pokecenter that was sooo cute, too expensive though 😭

I was obsessed for like years. I’ve always been a little pyro so when I got my first game (W2) and seen that little fire pig I was in love. Fire types are my absolute favorite. No mater what I will always pick the fire starter when playing.

I got into the TCG first because I seen a pack with Rapidash on the cover and I was a certified horse girlie. Multiple times a year when I start ranting about a new game my dad says he regrets buying me the cards.

I got so into pokemon I have a full blown OC and used to have and Rp-like blog about headcannons. I’m a Gen 5 lover but Gen 6 is a close second.

Favorite character is Grimsley. Love that wet cat of a man. However I HATE his Gen 7 design with a passion. I got into heavy shipping and loved OriginalShipping and Orginshipping. Red and Blue/Green were in Alola for their honeymoon 10000%. And you can’t tell me Wallace and Steven are not fruity.

I have so much headcannons for every character that I honestly forget what’s actually cannon at this point.

You're definitely not the first person I've heard say they only pick the fire starters, it seems like a popular choice! It's true fire types in general rarely disappoint, Charizard used to be my fav (with aerodactyl) as a little kid (my love for dragons was always there) and I definitely understand !

Also hell yeah for Grimsley, I love that guy !! I remember reading the gen 5 manga and him showing up in there too, he was so coooool, love his designs honestly ! And hard agree on Blue and Red being on a honeymoon in Alola LMAO they truly got the vibe for it, love those guys.

Wallace and Steve are also boyfriends 100000%. Juan maybe too. Idk. Stuff's going in Hoenn.

I wasn't a fan of Gen 5 when it came out, but I've grown to like it with time. I still was a big fan of Grimsley back then, and also Burgh (fruity artist with cool bug pokemon? Hell yes. Gen 5 bugs are just so good in general.)

Pokémon is my childhood, I miss these guys sometimes.

So recently I learnt the absolute heartbreaking story of Takeshi Shudo and Lugia.

Long story short, just for the context: Pokémon 2000 movie producers gave Lugia a male voice, despite Shudo writing this Pokémon as a more gender-neutral and even motherly figure. They were looking at such a detail as one Pokemons gender as at a marketing tool, meanwhile for Shudo it was so much more than just a selling instrument, Lugias gender was a very important message, that Shudo wished to deliver. Sadly, this story, among other episodes, affected Shudos mental state in a bad way.

It breaks my heart, because Lugia was my fave, and not because they were so powerful, but because there were a power of nature, that chose to be the peacekeeper in the movie. When I first saw the Pokémon 2000 movie - it was on a vhs tape, with some bootleg translation to my mother tongue. And while Lugia in our version also had male voice - every character in the movie referred to Lugia as to a female! I'm sure, it's just a mistake of our local translating team, but this detail made Lugia gender-neutral to me personally. I know, this would have changed nothing, but if I could - I would write Shudo "To me your Lugia was the way you wanted them/her to be from the day one". nrd

I had never heard this story before, it is very sad to hear :( I grew up with Pokemon too and I loved that some pokemon didn't have genders, it just made sense to me. Even the sexual dimorphism in pokemon was never too bad, like hell yeah, go female Machamps and male Gardevoirs and azurills transitioning when they evolve !!

It's a shame they wanted something more gendered for marketing purpose in the movie !

Lugia is an absolute majestic pokemon and one design that I still to this day find so beautiful. And its animation is gorgeous, baby lugia will forever have my heart.

Have you thought about duo Gym Leaders NikPrice fighting with teams that compliment each other perfectly? Or Flying type trainer Nik teaching kids how to beat the ground type gym so his gym leader husband gets home on time for once? Ffs John the pokemon worth fishing are at the surface in the afternoon stop training that damn sandslash and get to the beach, the badges can wait! Ik this isnt what you asked for exactly, but my brain went there and I thought you might enjoy it too :3

Also, is it cliche if I say I think you'd have a cute smeargle if pokemon were real? I think it'd love to chill on your desk while you draw.

Anon, I've been thinking about your ask all day ! I love the idea of Nik and Price being a double gym leader team, and the flying x ground types make so much sense ! They're strategist so they both would be extremely good I imagine !

I did try to make their flying and ground type for fun, although I didn't think about the strategy at all so it's really just for vibes™

Am I the only one or did anyone else also feel vindicated seeing people like Pachirisu after that stunt in that one tournament? It’s my favorite not-pikachu cheeky electric type, I love that little squirrel

Okay I never got that vindication because I was impartial to Pachirisu even before that tournament thing, and I've grown to like it pretty recently BUT, I very much remember what it was like to be a pokemon fan before 2016 and Pokemon Go only for people to suddenly act like pokemon was suddenly so cool when pokemon Go came out. So I understand that feeling 😭

That being said, Pachirisu has my fav shiny of all the electric rodents, look at this cute little pink guy !!
