how do you go about learning the faces of the people you draw? you capture their likeness so well it makes me feral

teehee ty v much anon this is an interesting question bc likeness is so hard to capture.... basically its all about studying and closely observing whoever u are trying to draw. its hard to explain so i did a bunch of examples of babygirl lip to show the kind of stuff i think about while drawing to 'get' someones face..

the vague shapes/proportions of the face, trying to determine the most prominent features and then playing around with them while still making them look like themself. the battle of 'what do they actually look like' vs 'what i want them to look like' (idk the general desire of ppl to want to draw hot ppl and being unwilling to push the conventionally 'unattractive' features (draw that receding hairline for the love of god)). also im not rly great at this. or explaining this. does the visual help?
