Simon Fairchild is such a fun character. The way he just strolled into the archives, laughing quietly to himself. I’ve been waiting to meet this guy since I heard his voice actor do the ad reads in s1. His voice and how he carries himself gives off a certain lightness. It’s that carefree attitude that I’d like to see more of.

There’s something hilarious and heartbreaking about what Martin and Simon said. Martin says that their time on earth matters even if it ends one day. It reminds me of that quote that people use when talking about the finale. The love was there. It didn’t change anything but it mattered that it was there, something like that. Simon responds to that statement in the same way that I’ve always thought about that quote. He says that it’s a lonely way of looking at things.

Simon’s viewpoint makes sense for how he is. It’s easy to be so carefree when the world is devoid of meaning. How scary it must be to love, knowing that love will one day end. How brave it must be to love despite knowing that. I often find myself in the middle of those two viewpoints. I know that the finale will be beautiful but, if I were in their shoes, I couldn’t help but wonder if any of it was worth it in the end.

jolly yanno it wasn't until I read bd that I too became obsessed with 'the thing' jungkook does with his lip ring, and at some point I started noticing it so much more oh how in love I am when he plays with it 😭😭😭😭 I don't know, it's such a simple and unnoticeable act, but you noticed iy!! and it's sooo endearing. love love loveee it when I notice him do the thing. even got little videos of it, and then sometimes the smile that comes aftwr?!??! goodness I meltttr

ohhhh how i adore the thing <33 i noticed it bc I'm literally in love with him!!!! loml!!!! i know there's some debate over what the thing is, so for me the thing is whenever the ring doesn't lay flat in its usual position, which means when he plays with it, it happens he he :D

This is a good question because honestly, i'm not even sure what got me into him in the first place. I spent around 4 months getting into DC and mostly sticking to the bats, then boom. Garth.

I think he hits a lot of notes for me that I like in a character, and honestly he's fun to read when he shows up in comics. He really means well and is a sensitive do-gooder, but can also have a bit of a temper and strong beliefs that he will defend. He also does a good job of rounding out any cast or ensemble they throw him in, which I appreciate. Plus magic! I love magic.

Of course I'm a sucker for a tragic backstory with some magical elements. Merman Lancelot I will love u forever. Abandoned, left for dead prince with latent, insanely powerful abilities only unlocked after being Put Through It? what's not to love.

Personally I also think its insane that there has been nothing done with the fact that he lived on his own and stayed alive from infancy to ~8-10 years old. HELLO thats a gold mine. idk I think about that aspect of his character and his relationship with Aquababy a lot. I think its sweet that even though he has nothing to work off of with no parents to speak of (to his knowledge) and being scared of getting replaced by the blood son, he still loves and takes care of that little baby.

I also love that one issue of titans 1999 where he leads the team. He's a capable, compassionate guy who's good at what he does. DC why did u take it all away..... bring him home

truly genuinely fascinating watching s3ep20 House Training with the Wilson stuff. He really is just like that. Hes genuine. He takes women to lunch and plays and museums and does it with a smile on his face and not an ounce of bad intent. And he does it again. And they fall in love because he's so affably kind and senselessly caring and he blinks those big brown eyes at them and lets it happen. He lets it happen. He does know what he's doing. Because he is all about other people's love, other people's pleasure, and just like House he finds some eternal, niggling curiosity about /why/. So he figures it out, he follows this new woman's footsteps and lays out the red carpet until theres nothing left but a thread.

There is one red thread Wilson pulls to make everything and it is connected straight to House. Tug of war, babey.

kiburi wants to become the leader of his float. a snake has some bigger ideas for him. ushari says that kiburi can become leader of the pridelands too, then crocodiles will finally be respected to his standards. ushari wants respect for all reptiles. kiburi doesn't mind that. he believes him.

the plan fails, and he has nothing but his friends now. kiburi finds ushari, who offers him something in return for keeping his life. kiburi should kill him, but he doesn't.

kiburi meets scar, who ushari has complete trust in. if he follows scar, he could rule someday. with ushari by his side, reptiles could finally be respected. trusting him is working in his favour.

the army never wins. kiburi can feel every bruise, cut and scrape that doesn't have a chance to heal. he can see the weariness in his float from fighting every day. the pressure is destroying them all. ushari never gains a single tear in his perfect scales. scar rants and rages about how the army isn't good enough. ushari never has to face scar's wrath. maybe he was wrong to trust him, but there's no turning back now, there is nothing else. and traitors are no better than dead.

janja turns against them. he survives their attempt to kill him and finds happiness somehow. there is no peace for the army, so they're sure he was never really one of them. kiburi doesn't feel any guilt. scar promises this is the last battle to win the pridelands. ushari is sure of it, so kiburi is too.

and he was right. the army wins the very moment that ushari's venom infects kion's mind. there is nothing that the pridelanders can do. for once, there is victory for the army. for once, there is peace.

fire quickly takes over every patch of land in sight. all of it is theirs. kiburi's float will never have to get another wound again. they will never have to go hungry again. they will never have to share again. they will never be unhappy again. kiburi is glad he trusted ushari.

until all the lands had nothing left. there isn't enough water. his float are gone. kiburi barely manages to get by. this is all ushari's fault. such a smart snake should have known better.

ushari tricked him. those comforting words of ruling the lands were all false promises. everything was a lie, it must have been. scar's reign meant nothing could survive. such a smart snake should have known that.

ushari betrayed him, so kiburi makes sure he brings justice.
