Honestly I have to give Kirk credit for pulling as well as he does, like yeah he’s charming and whatever, but 75% of the time Spock is Also There acting like his sole purpose in life is to scare away the hoes. And yet the horny spirit perseveres

sometimes i wonder if kirk’s heightened emotional state in the voyage home has less to do with earth’s impending doom by random probe and more to do with the fact that he and spock really, really, need to talk but there is never a good time to discuss with your life partner the exact status of your relationship when you have to fucking time travel

it’s actually hilarious because there’s like. An actual acknowledged episode where Kirk Actually Falls In Love with a lady and when she (spoiler) dies it breaks him. He breaks down crying and later is very quiet and morose and the crew are all like “hey we need our captain this is a long five year mission we can’t afford to lose him.” And Spock???? Wipes his memory????? To help him forget the lady?????? I feel like nobody talks about this. NONE of Kirk’s other lovers are treated like this narratively. It’s a WEIRD episode. But if you take it in the context of ‘Kirk flirts All The Time with anything that moves, but he only falls in love once in a blue moon, and when that happens? Come hell or high water, he Will save them, and if he can’t, it Will break him.” It makes a million times more sense and Also fits with the actual source material re: literally anything and everything to do with spock ever (and also the enterprise that one time)

like gang. His exes are all either actual sociopaths who he switched careers to get away from, murderous aliens who invented the sex scent ABO thing (look it up. Or don’t) and forced themselves on him, incredibly important diplomats who he cannot afford to offend who throw themselves at him like he’s 100% Grade A Iowa Raised Beefcake, or intelligent amicable breakups who have moved on into lucrative careers that he wholeheartedly supports. Or Spock. (they’re not exes tho they’re doing the nasty on every horizontal surface of the enterprise and most of the non-horizontal ones. And by doing the nasty I do mean holding hands and staring intently into one anothers’ eyes. Yknow. The thing Vulcans consider basically sex.)

yeah anyway no Kirk is so far from being a womanizer it’s actually funny and people baffle me with their media illiteracy every gyat dang day.

I think Kirk's womanizer fame is hilarious, since 8% of the time he's flirting, it's either but an act or straight up mind control, and then 90%, it's just him shamelessly eyefucking with his First Commander.

When I rewatched The Deadly Years I stopped functioning for a moment because I didn’t remember anything about some scenes, so when Jim appeared shirtless in his quarters I thought “LOL what if he contacted Spock like this just like he did (twice) in The Corbomite Maneuver, wouldn’t it be funny? Hahaha”

And then I kept watching and
