really cool how in this clip where pearl reaffirms her friendship with tango after he goes red, gem automatically assumes that this friendship is an agreement that extends to the rest of the villies, and promptly discourages pearl from befriending him.

pearl initially requested tango's friendship after he pointed out that they both have red eyes, so it's clear that this is meant to be just the two of them. gem was looking directly at them while they had this conversation, so the only reason she would have missed this is because she's only hearing what she wants to hear. it's a little detail that demonstrates gem's mindset when it comes to pearl—everything she does is inherently gem's business.

it's also interesting that she rejects tango in particular. if gem wants pearl to be more violent, as she's constantly claiming she does, wouldn't hanging around tango be the fastest way to accomplish that goal? as far as everyone knows at this point in time, tango is ready to kill, an active danger to the rest of the server. if he and pearl had stuck together this episode, we'd probably be seeing another mini return of scarlet pearl. gem could have tagged along and seen all the violence she could ask for.

but it's not about that. gem doesn't want pearl to be violent for just anybody. she wants to be the only one motivating pearl to feel that way, and her knee-jerk rejection of tango is proof. gem wants pearl all to herself.

i need everyone to understand that The Villys are one of the most intersting dynamics ever to me. seen lots of posts over them and somehow none of them really encapsulate what i got from their teamup?

they are unhealthily obssessed with each other. people get into their base and their first thought is that they are targeting their teammates. not themselves. they get especially worried over their safety when ome of them is alone

yet they trust the others ability to hold their own. they send each other on missions, they brag about manipulating and annoying other players, they get so cocky when the others get kills or steal or make an alliance

and they are paranoid. because surely this won't last. their teammates will leave. there are other players, better players, who get along better than they do. they'll be left alone. and they are terrified of that

so they cling onto eachother but still keep their teammates at arms lenghts, and they value their time together but also their time alone and every new alliance becomes a possible way to lose the others AND THEY DRIVE ME FREAKING INSANE

there must be some sort of balanced job out there between one that gives you burnout and one that makes you die from boredom

if you subscribe to the idea that grian, jimmy and pearl are siblings (skyblings) then it is important that you know these three things:

- grian is the oldest.

- jimmy is the middle child, and taller than him.

- pearl is the youngest, tallest, and coolest.
