Doppelgangers mimic, it's in their blood, their instincts. They observe and copy, they peak into the lives of the unsuspecting and devour what they can, in every sense of the word.

It's necessary for their survival, to learn every detail of ones features. The better evolved members of their kind learn to perfectly imitate speech patterns and body language as well, leaving nothing out. Perfection is key, and a deep intricate understanding of their prey is what they strive for.

They pride themselves on their ability to reflect humanities ego back at them.

Some understand too well, and look deeper than what's necessary. Their human-counterparts oft hold secrets buried within, secrets they show no one, and yet the doppelgangers that select them seem to enjoy shouting such things out into the world for all to see.

Showing off what they've found, what was previously being hidden away from public eye.

A pilot who's mind races with endless possibilities and visions of death, who's witnessed carnage both of reality and illusion. Behind a stone faced facade and obscuring shades, paranoia clutches the mind and eyes dart nervously towards every shadow. The constant nagging of adrenaline and panic being held trapped behind an un-moving mask. An all consuming mind, seeing danger at every corner, only ever knowing peace while in the emptiness of the skies.

A woman who wills herself to be blind to her harsh reality. Portraying herself with an energetic and bubbly attitude, while miserable inside, refusing to speak of her past. Silencing herself for the sake of her and her daughter. Pretending she doesn't see that her daughter looks nothing like her ex husband, pretending she doesn't see the resemblance to her neighborhood milkman. Staying quiet, eyes and lips sealed shut. Keeping her secret away from even herself.

An uncaring, boring man to the public eye, who secretly relishes in the silent chaos he's caused for numerous marriages. Going about his day, hiding his sadistic smile behind a mundane lifestyle and tired eyes. Knowing the effect he has on unsuspecting and lonely housewives, it does wonders for his ego. He keeps it inside, not showing his twisted delight for home-wrecking.

It goes on, many doppelgangers seeing people's true colors and proudly putting them on display.

A miserable seamstress, a model with an fake smile and endless hunger for fame, a reporter melting under the pressure of his journalism- having to do stories on these monsters day in and day out, exposed to endless horrors.

Many may look at these mimics, call them lazy, say they don't understand what a real human looks like. But they know better than anyone what's in your heart, their depiction more accurate than those only portraying what's on the surface level.

A button is pressed, the curtains fall, and their performance is done as a siren mocks the sound of applause.

I strongly believe that Evan is very disconnected from his emotions. Normally, he's a very emotionless and cold person, but sometimes he randomly feels tears running down his cheeks or laughs without knowing why. His general mood and face expression are very "why am i crying ew thats so embarrassing" instead of fitting to his emotions. He often doesnt understand why he feels the way he does, so he goes to Barty, Pandora or Regulus to ask them why he is feeling a certain way. I imagine it like this:

Evan: "Barty, what is that urge to giggle all the time, why dont i want to die?"

Barty: "Rosie thats feeling happy"

Evan: "Oh."

Evan:

Evan: "So why am I happy?"

Barty: "Because you passed all of your exams with an O"

Evan: "Ah, okay. Weird."

Considering the fact that Evan sees himself more as a weapon and an experiment, as if his body was an entirely wrong thing to exist in. More about that here. All this could be fitting to a depersonalization, which is true to me. Yet, Evan has way too big god complexes. They're just not corelated to his body, but more to his soul and intelligence. Evan trusts strongly in his charm and smartness

Evan tries to always stay neutral, and unless he's got really strong emotions that is working out perfectly. He believes that emotions are for lower people like his standarts are too high to feel something as humiliating as them.

Now imagine him being heartbroken. Oh he wouldn't know what was going on. He would ignore the wants and needs of his body, simply acting like nothing happend. And when someone asks him about the reddened eyes he would say "I'm just as confused as you". Once he would realize what was going on it would be over for the other person though. After his sadness comes anger which leads to violence. Evan is definitely not one you want to mess with, and if someone hurt him, they will pay for it with ten times as much pain.

i kinda wish this fandom would stop claiming characters like shin obvioulsy has autism or depression and just stop at that . Why do people in every fandom always like give autism or ike adhd or like anxiety or deprssion for characters and never go further while the characters clearly show signs of either personality disorders or like mood disorders. idk how you can finish the game and not realise shin suffers from some form of psychosis or skizoaffective dissorder. There is way and i mean WAY more proof of shin having a personality disorder than him having autism yet people only care about the autism part? You have the total right to believe shin has autism and relate to him in that way but like idk sometimes i feel like a lot of people are missing out on the clear cluster disorder reading of his character. pehaps it is projection? Afeter all from my stats a lot of shin fans are themselves autistic/adhd but it kind feels like people really know anything about other disorders sometimes. Its a bit sad honestly. I'm still thankful to those who make readings that way it really warms my heart has somoene who lives from a probable (going in therapy for it) cluster or mood disorder. i kinda wish we had more accurate rep and i think character like shin really represent my daily struglles as someone who lives everyday with mood regulation issues and paranoia than he could ever represent my autism. Idk if this makes like any sense what i wrote but yeah.

My cat always scratches at doors at random times in the night. Usually around 2, 4, and 6am. That's because this little bitch doesn't have a regular sleeping pattern and takes power naps, and gets a little concerned when she wakes up at night and everyone else is just. Not there??? We're not walking around, we're not talking, we're in our rooms alone and we're sleeping??? My cat cannot comprehend it.

And you know who else takes power naps instead of sleeping at night? You know who I snatched that headcanon from? (Pretty sure it was Dark)

Dust.

Dust literally saves everyone from Killer's cats scratching at doors and waking them up in the middle of the night. His sleeping patterns coincidentally matched up with the cats. So when a cat is wandering around, it would usually just scratch into Dust's room and calm down. Bonus if Dust and Killer actually share a room, and when they go to sleep all the cats are with Killer and when they wake up they're all with Dust. (Upsets Killer to no end.)

Okay, from here cw/tw? for schizophrenia and a semi-detailed hallucination episode

With my headcanon that Dust has schizophrenia, this would be an absolute nightmare for him.

A symptom of schizophrenia is hearing voices and sounds that aren't there. His main hallucination would be Phantom, and I've read that the voices schizophrenic people hear are usually far away. Like they are literally in the walls/srs.

Now imagine Dust hallucinating Phantom, while also hearing cats scratch at his door. Do you know how badly it would fuck with him. He would hear a voice from the wall, and assume that someone is trying to crawl into his room and scratch open the walls. So he just sits on his bed and hyperventilates. Bonus if the episode would involve physical hallucinations, with hands roaming on his face, head, shoulders, neck. And then with the sound of the scratching his brain would automatically make him feel nails scraping at his arms and legs.

i think that Dust would have a really messed up relationship with reality. like obviously he sees ghosts and has hallucinations so like no duh he has a hard time determining what’s real and whats not,

but what if we added to that.

like Dust genuinely believing that his ghosts are real. and when people try to help him- try to get him to realize that the hallucinations aren’t real- it actually makes everything worse. because what do you mean Papyrus isn’t really there? Dust can see him, they have conversations- you cant talk to dead people- so he has to be real.

he’ll confuse information, mistaking behavior the hallucinations have with what their alive counterparts were like. his delusions give him false information, but he believes them. because his brother wouldn’t lie to him, Toriel wouldn’t lie to him- but its just the hallucinations.

or even worse, he’ll confuse who is and isn’t real. seeing hallucinations of dead people is one thing, but to see hallucinations of real, living people- thats much harder to deal with.

like he’ll hallucinate living, breathing people that he knows- people he met after he got out of his AU.

it’s easier to ignore the voices of dead people- even if they do sound like your friends and family- because all those hallucinations are from Dusttale. his AU is long gone, he knows that. he knows that Toriel and his brother and everyone else is dead. hes been out of Dusttale for a while, and there’s no way for them to be here. but his friends, his family, and his support outside of Dusttale? they are real. they are alive. they wont become hallucinations.

so what if they did?

imagine the confusion, the hurt he would feel from that. Suddenly seeing Red or another friend, and they’re telling him things that are so out of character, but these are his friends. right? he can trust these people.

they’ll feed him false information and made up stories that Dust clings to like a lifeline. and then he’ll unknowingly spread false information.

and it gets to a point where he realizes something is wrong. that some fucked up part of his subconscious is feeding him lies and fake scenarios, but he can’t tell the difference between reality and his own delusions.

basically in summary i really want Dust to suffer

Why when I'm trying to work on an "A Clearly Discernible Line" chapter do I suddenly get a Research series fic idea. Why. Why does this happen. I don't like it.

The Research fic idea is basically a Wilson version of "Data" where he has a difficult talk with his therapist and then has an important therapy assignment that ends in fluff. The fic would likely center on parentification, emotional neglect, and why Wilson compulsively shoves down his own needs and doesn't let anyone past his "everybody's favorite nice person" mask.

I'd want to dig into parallels between House and Wilson (House creates an aggressively unpleasant facade to distract from vulnerability and empathy, Wilson creates an aggressively pleasant facade to distract from the things about himself that he things are bad but which are often understandable and morally neutral [depression, queerness, basic human needs]).

Also I want to explore Wilson's childhood, including how he was parentified and made his brother's caretaker (because the situation of Wilson being solely responsible for his brother's needs even after Wilson left home did not spawn when his brother was diagnosed [which would have probably been when Wilson was already in college in another country], Wilson's parents must have expected it of him because of a pattern that existed for a long time), and then often emotionally neglected and ignored ("James isn't any trouble he just does fine on his own, he doesn't need anything") when he wasn't caring for his brother (the only way he could get real praise). Basically all this resulted in Wilson having little concept of his own needs and wants and being wired to think the only way to get people to care about you/want you around is to take care of them. Add the trauma from "Hypothesis" and now he thinks pleasing people is also the only way to be physically safe...and wow, yikes.

Anyway, it would probably be the standard Research hurt/comfort with a fluffy ending deal. I want to write House actually realizing that Wilson's "eating neediness" is actually indicative of something that could cause Wilson real pain.

No promises at all that this will be written (in the near future all energy is still on the fic that I am currently publishing), but I needed to write the idea down and really think about it so tomorrow I can get some "A Clearly Discernible Line" writing done.

As an avid enjoyer of bungou stray dogs and a atsushi defender 4evr I have an atsu headcanon paired with my reasons on why I headcanon this.

Now pls just remember this is my headcanon and not fact!

I headcanon atsushi to be schizophrenic.

Several times throughout the show we see him seeing/visualizing people that arent there. (The headmaster,dazai,and various others)

Well I am most definitely sure atsushi has PTSD (for obvious reasons) It is not confirmed or denied if he has any other mental issues. We can even see him interact with these visualizations as if they are actually there before it cuts to them not being there at all.

Now this is simply based on my personal hcs but...

the rest of the group watched in morbid curiosity as steve said his goodbyes to an invisible force, waiting with bated breath for his clarification. "sorry, it's done, it's over. uh- talking to them, helps. it makes them like... less negative i guess? when i ignore them they get... weird."

"sorry, what?"

"what?"

"you, uh." robin paused, trying to gather her thoughts. "hallucinations?"

"oh, yeah. i was diagnosed with schizophrenia when i was 13."

robin rolls her eyes "and yet another fact about steve that makes me wonder about your life." she singsongs.

he shrugs, grabbing a bag of chips, opening it and popping one in his mouth. "yeah." is all he said, mouth full of chips.
