Pandora gets Lazy

The third book in this series. I enjoyed it. The world building is imaginative, the characters are enjoyable, the plot was interesting, and it was easy to follow.

i may struggle with feeling gratitude and excitement (autism) but i sure as hell know that i can thank the gods for slowly learning to love and take care of myself.

because of morpheus i now have a committed night routine that i track.

because of apollo ive learned a hidden love for simple crafting.

because of apollo ive started correcting binge eating behaviors.

because of apollo ive found myself to be collected when im working, even in the most stressful moments. (daycare)

because of athena im learning to pace my goals and my projects.

because of athena i made a clearer career plan and college plan.

because of aphrodite im able to look at my reflection and think “im not ugly” more often.

sometimes i dont know which god has helped me with something, but i always thank the gods for my progress. i did it, and they provided me with the energy, the motivation, or the idea to do so.

ive learned that my worship and dedication will only flourish once ive learned to dedicate to myself.

Y/n was a male half-blood a son of Aphrodite his beauty was his downfall he was self centered obsessed with his looks it all started when he got attacked during the war with kronos.

Y/n had snuck on to luke castallens ship he knew it was stupid to go by himself but to him that didn’t matter he thought he could do it alone until one of lukes gaurds had caught him he quickly yanked his sword out slicing through the air hitting his opponents weapon.

A sliver flash flew past y/ns face a warm liquid now ran down his face y/n reached up touching his face blood dripped off his hands and face he looked up at his opponent before taking off running he knew he wouldn’t win alone.

That was years ago y/n had a scar from the tip of his left eye brown that ran down across his nose stopping in the middle of his right cheek, he always kept it hidden he felt ugly with it. he thought it ruined his beauty. His powers only kept his scar hidden for a week at a time before it would show again.

Morpheus had found y/n only a few months after the war it was odd for a god to talk too and care for a half-blood the whole reason luke had started a war was because the gods didn’t care so why was Morpheus so worried about y/n?.

“Why do you care?” Y/n questioned Morpheus for the third time today. The question made Morpheus stop what he was doing to turn around and stare at y/n as if he was wondering why this was so odd to y/n. “Don’t just stare at me mindlessly answer my question lord Morpheus no god has cared about half-bloods before so why do you” Morpheus was a few inches taller than y/n so as he walked over y/n tilted his head back to look up at him.

Morpheus set his his hand on y/ns face gently it was soft yet cold but comforting he talked lowly like a whisper but it wasn’t a secret “Why shouldn’t i care? Is it such an odd thing for someone to care? I am different from the gods you know of, i want to care. Infact i do care for my son and for you” Morpheus took his thumb to the tip of y/ns eyebrow starting to wipe away the makeup that kept his scar a secret.

Y/n quickly grabbed his wrist stopping his hand from moving any further down his face “Y/n why do you fear your beauty? Why do you hide it?”. Y/n shook his head not wanting to answer the question at hand “You truly do think its ugly? You’re wrong your scars don’t define your beauty it defines your power how strong you are y/n you didn’t get the scar from an accident you got it fighting for the lives of your half-siblings and the gods. I think brave is beauty”

Morpheus kept his hand still till y/n let go of his wrist he continued his thumb down wipping off the rest of the makeup. Y/n never saw Morpheus smile much but when Morpheus did smile nothing else mattered just like right now that smile was the most important thing to him “Even if you do not see your beauty i do” Morpheus set his hand under y/ns chin pulling his head back a little more so he could place a comforting kiss onto his lovers lips. All Morpheus ever wanted was to make y/n understand he was still beautiful to him.

Aphrodite: Titania, Alianora and Thessaly. Those women you abandon them when your “love” faded Thessaly saw through your lies and façade!

Dream: Aphrodite, you don’t-

Aphrodite: No! I’m not finished Oneiros. Our friendship, You never let me express my feelings! That is why we stopped being friends!

Aphrodite: You treated me like dirt! Like I was nothing to you, I was your only friend and I stood up for you against your family and the gods!

Aphrodite: Its no wonder your family doesn’t like you! Or you don’t have any friends!

Aphrodite: at least, I acknowledge I was awful parent, lover, wife and goddess but you. Pretend it’s everyone else’s fault and not yours!

Dream, looks at Aphrodite with his glossy eyes as he tried to keep his composure.

Aphrodite looks at Oneiros for the first time in centuries with pity and forgiveness. Maybe they could put all this anger, sadness and betrayal behind them?

Second longest would be her handmaidens, Aglaea, Euphrosyne, and Thalia.
