One thing I am very excited about regarding your next fic “saving you” is the prerspective change we’ll see when it comes to Armin being small. Rather then Tinys being commonplace or at least known about. We shall see Armin in a position not even he fully understands how to deal with, I am especially looking forward to his first reaction to being tiny and the reaction of everyone else as well. The potential for shenanigans is very high.

Yes yes, Saving You is another tiny!Armin x Annie story, where he shrinks down this time! Armin will be the same size here as he is in The Difference Between Us, 4 inches tall! Toy sized! Stuff him in your pocket-sized!! You get the idea xD.

As you say, rather than Tiny's existing and being 'creatures' that are well-known throughout the world, SY is a canon-divergence story... which means that Armin is going to be VERY out of water so to say. He will have to face this world that already made him feel small, while being LITERALLY SMALL... So, expect lots of angsty goodness, hehe. His first reaction will be notable and especially given the context of how and why he was shrunk in the first place!

The reaction of others is indeed something I want to include, though I can't say how much we'll get to see it throughout the main scenario, considering... but ofc, things can always change as I develop it more closely. What I do want to have are bonus chapters! Namely, with other characters getting their own time to spend with miniature Armin x3. So, I will say now, yes that includes Mikasa, hehe. Lots of cuteness is ASSURED!! SO MUCH CUTE!! Of course, there will be A LOT of shenanigans, ooooooh so much!! This fic will also take place during the 4 year timeskip after season 3, but then everything is different from there, obviously, haha.

Naturally, ponytail Armin is a MUST in my fics.... tiny or normal sized, heh.

I will be making more detailed explanation of Saving You soon, but, if you and others want to know more about ahead of time... I can make said post sooner than originally planned! Which is no problem :3

Hi I really like your Better World AU and I would like to hear more lore related stuff about it like what is Fidds' and Ford's relationship like and did they encounter canon Ford at some point like in journal 3 and if that happened how did they react to that?

things are definitely rocky at first. like, initially Fiddleford was just planning on helping Ford get Bill out of his head/dismantle the portal, but he obviously ended up staying lol. between everything that happened, Ford and Fiddleford reunited when the society kidnapped the stan twins, Stan and Fiddleford beefing, and the fact at first Fiddelford wasn't trying to get attached again, it wasn't the greatest new start

but i think between getting to spend time together again and being more open with each other, they do start to rebuild their relationship. i feel like at the end of the day, they just really care about, and understand each other in a way no one else rly does.

overall tho, i think reconnecting sooner means they get to be weirdos together sooner. i've mentioned before that they get together while the anomaly museum is being built, so i honestly picture them having romantic moments while working on taxidermy n shit lmao.

i think later on during of the early institute era, Fiddleford has to help Ford with the pressure of being a bit more of a public figure. like, it's very much something Ford always dreamed of, but actually experiencing it is a lot for him. he's not great with people or speaking, so trust that Fiddleford has to help w that a lot. Fiddleford also still has a lot of anxiety he's trying to manage. Ford helps with that as best he can.

in general, Ford is surprisingly the clingy one. i think once they got together, it was sort of a "something he always wanted, but never really understood till he got it" thing. he's very lovey and physically affectionate. don't get me wrong, he still loves his solo adventures, or spending time w Stan, but he loves his hillbilly very much <33

with Bill being gone, Stan being back in his life, and him just having a much better support system in general, it really allows Ford and McGucket to have a much better relationship. they're both able to make each other more stupid and bring out the best in each other. trust, they're the biggest fans of the other's pet projects, even if they're ridiculous

as for cannon Ford, this is au mostly my interpretation of the actual better world entry, so he def makes an appearance! i haven't done much w that yet, but i do have this:

a lot of their conversation is a miscommunication tbh. for instance, bwStan DID hide one of the journals, with bwFord. or like here, with cFord assuming bwFiddleford is still married to Emma. he makes a lot of assumptions about the dimension, without digging too deep. he's basically seeing the lifelong dream he lost, so it's too overwhelming for him to find out too much. it just hurts.

i think bwFiddleford picks up on it, and doesn't press the issue. between how stressed cFord is, and how well he knows bwFord, he knows it would probably make things worse.

i think they're whole situation is really bittersweet in a way. cFord sees the life he lost, and a friend he desperately wishes he could have reconnected with, meanwhile bwFiddleford is seeing another version of his husband who's been suffering for years and about to go do what could very well be a suicide mission. with the implication cFord and bwFidd will never meet again.

at this point, bwFidd is very accustomed to the notion of other versions of yourself. i mean, they've had the portal working for years, but i do think his encounter with cFord is one that always sticks with him. and probably had him more affectionate w his Ford for weeks

Hey! It’s so wild that you ask this because this is exactly what I’ve been trying to figure out for the past few days! So here's how I see Cas fitting into my butch Dean universe:

Castiel still saves Dean from Hell, and he’s still a big part of Sam and Dean's lives. And I think he and Dean do love each other.

But what I’m trying to figure out now is his gender in this universe. Because, in canon, Cas sort of learns gender from Dean, right? That’s pretty much how he learns how to perform masculinity, I think. And I’ve been trying to imagine what his gender looks like if Dean is instead a butch dyke with a really complicated relationship with both womanhood and masculinity.

And I think I want Cas to come to understand himself as butch too, eventually. He'll still possess a human man, but I don't think he'll identify as a man himself. I think that, through Dean, he will fall in love with a masculinity that doesn't have anything to do with being a man. And I think he'll fall in love with womanhood, too.

So yeah, right now I'm imagining Butch4Butch Destiel, with Cas as a butch trans woman. But I would love to hear how other people imagine Cas fitting into a story with a butch Dean!

for amandawn, they have such a wholesome dynamic that's a lot of fun to write! they're both utterly enamored with the other and I just think that's cute lol

as for rosenali, i am also a sucker for hero x villain ships. I'd say they're more annoyances to lovers, but I think it's so much fun to write for them. I love coming up with rose's little quips or denali's sass back to her haha

Given that the film and your story share elements specifically tiny humans being kept as pets by larger humanoids, I am curious if you were aware of the film and taken inspiration from it

Oh wow, I have actually never heard of Fantastic Planet before! I looked it up and... oh, I should check it out! From a short summary I read, I can see why you notice similarities! That said again, no I didn't know of this film! All of my inspirations for DBU came from AoT itself, and the elements of Tiny's, their abilities, culture, and how they are treated was from myself... so, perhaps I am a bit messed up, hahaha!

The idea of Titan's/humans in DBU keeping Tiny's like Armin as pets was an idea I came up with early on in writing. I thought long about how a world would be like if humans co-existed with miniature looking 'humans'. Would we as a society view them equally or as inferior? What temptations would the mind develop? It was honestly a thought provoking to ponder, but I also did not want to generalize the population of Titan's in DBU, so naturally, we see many humans who are truly kind to Tiny's, like Annie, Reiner, and Levi for example.

Though ofc, I also wanted to capture aspects of the horror that AoT itself does have, which is why there are many hostile and evil people who treat Tiny's as prey. To be used as toys, kept as pets... or... in classic AoT fashion, devoured. Yet, I also wanted to flip a notion of AoT on its head, where the Tiny's, the little miniature people, have the superior bodies! Extremely durable bodies to survive many situations, agelessness, heightened senses! These are aspects that the Titan's themselves from AoT have... so I thought it would be fun and interesting to give these traits to the MINI people in DBU!

(ofc other reasons are so that Annie and Armin can have fun moments together without a fear of Annie harming Armin due to him being so small. And there are other ways I provided conflict or tension with their relationship early on, such as Armin's lack of trust and trauma.)

No special traditions really, I think I'm about as classic as can be!

One I'd like to try once though would be to do the actual Yule Log tradition - namely, as it is in France, drenching a huge log from a fruit tree in wine and then putting it on fire on Christmas eve and trying to keep it burning at least for three days and three nights. Just because its a surviving pre-christian pagan tradition that I find fascinating, and I love fire a normal amount hfjdFJDJF

Otherwise I like making yule log cake. Thats good too LMAO

YESSSS i adore pulsars!!

fun fact: pulsars tend to be within our galactic halo, but FRBs (fast radio bursts) originate further away/longer ago, since distance and time at very interconnected at these distances. some FRBs are found in our galactic plane though and we dont know why!

we also understand pulsars pretty well - they are spinning so rapidly that it "pulses" their electromagentic frequency, but FRBs are still ~weird~. we know they are related but its complicated and we still have SOO much to learn

radio astronomy is very cool and is an open field!! we would love more people to join :D

also fun fact i met dr jocelyn bell brunell, the woman who was cheated out of her nobel prize for discovering pulsars, and she let me help give a talk with her on poetry in space!!
