I played the game quite a lot lately, and A LOT has happened since my last "update".

First, Joy entered a very difficult phase of her storyline (that was totally NOT what I planned for her, but sometimes, you just have to roll with what the game gives you). After she came back several times stoned from school (schoolmates had apparently given her weed?), I decided that she would take the place of her cousin Elia as my addicted teen. She started with weed and Adderall, but then started taking MDMA and ketamine (and got addicted to all of those - plus she also became an alcoholic). Her parents sent her several times to rehab but every time she fell of the wagon nearly as soon as she was released.

She also started a relationship with Dante Romeo (who actually was Sergio, but I have other plans for him, so I changed his first name and his face a bit), Sergio's younger cousin, who is also Zhafira Cahyaputri's (Joy's best friend) boyfriend (and the father of her daughter, Isla). The three of them, plus Valentin (Joy's son, now a toddler) and little Isla, moved to the flat above Mal and Willa's (and belonging to Mal). They were later joined by Joy's sister, Juniper, who's now a teen, too.

Somehow, Joy managed to graduate high school early. She's still as artistic as when she was younger, and paints a lot; she sells her work on Plopsy (and weed on the side). Zhafira is still in school (but since she's an F student and keeps skipping, she might be expelled sooner than later), like Juni, while Dante quit his work in his cousin's start-up to open a strip club. While not addicted, both Dante and Zhafira also consume drugs regularly but are still good parents, both for their daughter, but also for 'lil Valentin.

Joy got pregnant again, after she started a sugar relationship (Mal stopped giving her money since she only uses it for drugs) with a rich old man, Jacob Bartley. She got him to marry her (and put her and their unborn child in his will); which was lucky for her, since he died from a heart attack the day after they signed their marriage papers. She now has a very comfortable fortune to her name. And a new, rather ill (because of all the drugs she continued to take while pregnant) son, Dorian.

Juniper's in a relationship with Akio Ito, Kiyoshi's nephew, and is pregnant with his son (damn game!).

Free Grimms' Fairy Tales Typeset

I am so very excited to present free typeset #33: Grimms' Fairy Tales, by, of course, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. (Apologies for this being quite a long post, but I really wanted to show pictures of what's available in these typesets!) When I saw this in my ask box, I knew I had to do a typeset for it. But there were so many individual tales, and I wanted to do something a bit unique for each of them. But I also wanted to use a lot of color. And throw in some art. And that might make the typeset not so super printer friendly for some folks, so....

I made two versions of this typeset! Two different designs and color options. Both pdfs are available for FREE here and are sized for half letter (letter folio).

Grimms' Fairy Tales typeset version one is the full color version with a lot of little details and different art/motifs for each story (most of the art I used was by Maurice Pillard Verneuil; his stuff is so pretty).

And for the second version of the typeset (which I dubbed the Black and White, Hold the Art Alt in my google drive archive--I need a shorter name for that. The Deep Drive? Drivechive? Googachive?--I went black and white printer friendly, with prominent featuring ornaments and a more simple design.

You can see the differences clearly above. Both these typesets were a lot of fun to make, and I hope they print out well for people wanting to use them. It's one I hope to be able to print out soon for myself, to have as a personal physical copy. I kept stopping in the middle of typesetting just to read a few tales. (Cat-Skin and Snow White and Rose-Red are my two favorite tales (I just love the changed appearance lover trope), though The Juniper-Tree has a a solid standing with best revenge death.) Anyway, use these typesets as you wish! If there's any issues with the files, feel free to let me know! Just please leave credit and consider tagging me if you use them, or reblog if you can! More details and interior shots of the first version are below the break!

So the black and white version has pretty much the same design across all the different chapters, while the color version has a different swatch of art featured next to each title, to give some flair to each individual story. The whole double border around the drop caps was inspired by another (much more talented than I) member on Renegade Bindery, but I added in the extra picture frame for the motifs and changed some things around to get the sort of clean, classic, elegant vibe I was hoping for (originally, I was going to use good ol' IM FELL English and go with a much more gritty, vintage-y design, but changed it after seeing how well Crimson Text worked for the fairy tales (like I've said before, Crimson Text is a special occasion sort of font). My Favorite 𐙚Soft Girl𐙚 Perfumes!

More than a ‘clean’ girl, an ‘it’ girl, or ‘that’ girl, I love feeling like a soft girl! Soft girls are sweet, giggly, friendly, and warm, and are passionate about their interests and embracing their own and others’ uniqueness!

I have a few perfumes that I adore and specifically love to wear when I want to embrace the side of me that is sweet, gentle, thoughtful, and warm :)

Here are my favorite (self-proclaimed) soft girl perfumes!

1. Lake & Skye 11 11 — the warmest, softest, most comforting musk that smells like clean laundry or freshly showered skin.

2. Marc Jacobs Daisy Love — a beautiful blend of aromatic woods and musk with sweet, airy, and light cloudberry and daisy.

3. Bath & Body Works No. 3 Lavender — the girliest mix of aromatic lavender, sweet vanilla, and a hint of jasmine that leaves me feeling like a princess.

4. Oakcha The Beekeeper (dupe of Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey) — soft, fuzzy nectarine skin next to the blossoms and green leaves on the nectarine tree :)

5. Oil Perfumery’s Impression of Byredo Gypsy Water — the most incredible and unique blend of bright lemon, sweet vanilla, aromatic juniper and pine, and creamy sandalwood that makes me feel like a capital G Girly Girl.

6. Oil Perfumery’s Impression of Melanie Martinez Cry Baby Perfume Milk — an incredibly comforting mix of sweet berry, lactonic and powdery notes, caramel, and deep woods that come together to create so much depth and warmth in an otherwise sweet and powdery scent :)

Duo review

Bottle

The bottle is very pretty and alot sturdier than I expected. It feels more luxurious and expensive then I expected. It's heavy. The lid is very secure. The colour is also so bright and lovely and really clear.

Scent

First spray

It's very citrusy right after you spray it. Alot of lemon but not in the toilet cleaner way. More in a bright and fresh way. It feels "awake". I feel like the bergamot also helspt make the citrus less sharp and in your face as its a bit rounder. I can also smell the juniper berries but they are not as noticable to me. It's like they are at the very edge of the scent.

It also doesn't give that typical forest scent in my opinion but rather that tartness of them.

Lay down

It's warm and sweet but not sickingly sweet or overwhelming. Both the amber and the musk gives it some nice foundation.

I don't think it smells very herby at all. In my opinion that's a good thing.

I like it more after it has layed down a bit and that very first citrus not as calmed down. I would say the citrus is not very strong at all after a while, same for the juniper berries.

The top notes for me disappears quickly.

It actually reminds me alot of Decadence by Marc Jacobs which is my favourite scent. It's not as warm, heavy and sweet as Decadence. It would say it's lighter and brighter but they share the amber note in the base.

Masculine vs Feminine

It's neither (traditionally) very masculine or very feminine. It definitely feels unisex in that sense. I honestly can't say it leans either way.

I was scared I wouldn't like it because by favourite fragrance are what we typically say is a feminine scent.

If someone else used it, I would just think "they smell so good"

This is just to describe the scent and give references. I think everyone should wear what they want and like.

When to wear?

I would definitely wear it all day but if had to choose I would say it leans more towards an evening scent because of how warm and grounded it is.

I get what they say about a summer night. It's not tropical or anything but it's definitely warm. Like the sun warm wood of a dock against your skin when you lie in the sun (scandy people know)

But since it's so grounded I definitely think it's suitable for using im autumn and winter too (and spring) I mean I use my perfumes whenever I want but this is just to describe it in very common fragrance terms.

Projection

It's also not very strong and powerful. (Decadence really is as a comparison. As is flowerbomb which is another favourite of mine) I did two sprits which is what I usually start with to not go too heavy. It's not necessarily a bad thing. I also don't want to project too much and bother other people.

I have smelled myself alot so now I can't really smell it that strongly just in the air but it's likely because I've sniffed my arms too much. I also have a cold so my nose is a little stuffy.

Longevity

I don't think the longevity is great. I sprayed it around 10-10.30 and now at almost 15.00 the scent is very faint to me.

Again I have Decadence in mind which lingers on clothes for days. Maybe even a little too much.

It's not horrible by any means but not worth writing home about. Depending on what you like this might be a good thing for you and if you rather respray to awake the top notes again it's probably a good thing.

Over all I'm so happy I bought it because I definitely think I'll use it alot.

It's a lovely scent with alot of warmth and sweetness but not too heavy or overpowering. It's comforting and almost calming.
