Adelia Selwyn → Another one of Tadhg’s closest friends, Adelia is one of the best Slytherin girls out there. Her friendship with Tadhg is one of my favorites. @thatravenpuffwitch

Ivy Anders → Max’s girl. Ivy is one of the most fun Hufflepuff girls and is so unique. Her love of quidditch, baking, and parties are probably her most unique features. @kc-and-co

Josie Edwards → William’s girl. Josie is also a unique Hufflepuff girl. Her love of creatures coupled with a soft nature is what sets her apart from many of the other HL puff girls. I love her story with William. (Absolutely not biased or anything, but they might be my favorite of my HL/Victorian ships.) @slytherindisaster

Ethel Malinda → Rory’s girl. She’s such an interesting character, especially with the fact that she decides to reject her supposed place in the world. I like that she’s a journalist and I love the stuff that we’ve developed for Rethel. @gaygryffindorgal

Lyra Wilson → Huck’s girl. Lyra is amazing and I love how different her story. There aren’t many other HP OCs with Australian heritage. I love that she has different passions and just how unique she is. @cursebreakerfarrier

Scotty Rosier → Finn’s girl. Scotty is so much fun, even if I don’t know that much about her. She is such a fun character and I’ll also give a small shout-out to Wendy, who was one of my first intros to the joy of oc-oc friendships. @drinkyoursoupbitch

As a child growing up I never knew my father was an adopted child. Why share that now? Because I hope that someone whose pro-abortion will read this article to change their position to pro-life.  Understand my position. Had Dad’s biological parents chosen to abort rather than give him away, I wouldn’t be here now. I’ll probably never know who his biological family was or anything about them but whoever they are, if they are still alive, I want to thank them for not aborting my father. Your son ended up in a wonderful home raised by parents and an extended family who all loved him. He touched a lot of lives in his lifetime, especially me, as his baby and only daughter, “Daddy’s Girl”. 

Elder Harry Marvin Owens…His Roots

My grandparents Harry Hermond (1905-1959) and Earl Smith Owens (1910-1988) married Aug. 15,1931. My father Harry Owens was their only child.

  My great-grandparents “Allie” and Mary Smith. They had 6 children together: Ida May (1897-1981); Thurman (5/5/1899-1976); Ethel (1901-1975); Flaura (Flora, 11/12/03-10/19/61); Phoebe (3/1/07-/1/08/95); and my grandmother Earl (4/12/10-11/12/1989).

My grandfather Harry Hermond Owens was the son of  Richard (1863-1934) and 2nd wife Birdie Webb Owens. Richard Owens was the son of William Owens & Rachel A. Fields, daughter of Crabtree Fields & Malinda Belcher. Birdie Webb (1871-1910) was the daughter of William Webb & Hannah Gillen.

Elder Harry Marvin Owens…His Childhood

As a young child, Dad was affectionately nicknamed “Smokey” due to the thick coal-black hair he had as a baby. His first cousin, Jan Short, daughter of Audie and Phoebe Smith Adams, speaks of how everyone loved and accepted Dad into the family as if he were a biological child. “It didn’t matter to us that he was adopted,” Jan said.

Harry Marvin Owens and Patricia Ann Sturgill married April 29, 1955. They had two children: my brother Patrick Marvin Owens from Ohio and me.

Dad never met a stranger, which meant that my friends always ended up being friends to him and Mom too. Dad especially loved to fellowship with other Christians. Oh, how he loved the Lord and had a heart for the lost world!

Elder Harry Marvin Owens…The Person

After being saved in 1963 and a later call to preach the Gospel, Dad was ordained as a United Baptist minister in 1993. He was a member of Martha United Baptist Church. He also retired as an electrician at AK Steel Corp., Ashland, KY after 40 years of service.

Animals . . . He Loved Them

Dad grew up on a farm around lots of animals. He always had a big heart for them, and from what I have been told, he used to bring home every stray cat or dog that he found whenever he was out anywhere.  Of course, as a spoiled only child, his parents typically let him keep the strays too. He never lost his love for animals, as is depicted below in the picture of him feeding his neighbors’ dogs dog treats.

Children Loved Him

Dad loved children, and they him. Although, Dad wouldn’t hold newborn babies. He was always afraid he’d hurt them. The below photos are of special moments where I caught him interacting with children.

Dad play wrestling with his great nephew, Norman Lee McGlone, grandson of Mom’s sister Helen Sturgill Moore. Helen’s daughter Emma Moore McGlone was Norman’s mother.

The little girl, Tabitha Jackson, was a child I used to babysit for and take to church. She often spent Saturday nights with me to be able to go to church with me at Two Rivers Baptist Church, Nashville, TN. This photo was taken May 2, 1987 when my parents were visiting from Kentucky.

Forty One Years

Forty one years have come and gone Since you and I were wed. We’ve had our ups and downs, But still we’re looking ahead.

The children are now gone. Now we’re here left alone. But in our hearts they still remain, Our little children just the same.

As we walk the road of life With its valleys deep and wide, As we meet troubles and strife, God’s dear hand will guide.

I’ve been in the valley, and I’ve been on the mountain. I’ve been chastised, but also drank from the fountain. My eyes are on the heavenly shore, Following the tracks, of my Savior before.

They lead to the Father’s heavenly throne, And with Jesus my guide, I’m never alone. He leads me along the heavenly way, And gives me strength and courage, to finish the day.

AU Headcanons: Modern!Rethel or Muggle!Hartkade, please?

rethel: a modern au

ethel malinda is an investigative journalist working together with a private eye called irene quinn to uncover corruption in a big company. she moves to a small apartment in new york to continue to work undercover

her neighbour, rory o'neill, is a single father to the 7-year old miles and an aspiring athlete.

rory and ethel keep running into each other and one night when miles is at his grandparents', rory invites ethel over for some beer and boardgames.

as the months pass, the two grow closer and ethel even meets miles, spending more and more time with the o'neills

she begins to receive threatening letters and phone calls, telling her to stop investigating the company.

when her apartment is broken into one night, rory finds out something's going on with his perfectly normal-seeming neighbour

ethel is worried her work will put both rory and miles in danger

she's probably right about that but eventually she and irene manage to bring the company they're investigating to justice

rory and ethel end up marrying each other and having two kids, twin daughters kate and jane

fankids appreciation, day seven; family dynamics

agnes malinda and ethel malinda ethel is the firstborn child of agnes malinda and jacob macmillan. she has a complicated relationship with her family but her parents love her very much and are proud of her achievements. henry of alderly and edward of alderly edward is the firstborn child and only son of henry and cora, the duke and duchess of alderly. edward often disagrees with his father and doesn't understand him. edward of alderly and frederica "freddy" of alderly freddy is the oldest child of edward of alderly and jocelyn somerset. she is close with her father and the two share a similar sense of humour. anora brindlemore and bloom brindlemore bloom is the older of anora's two children. they have a troubled relationship and bloom dislikes having her mother as his professor at hogwarts. anora is protective of her children and bloom finds it stifling. verna malinda and rowan "roe" malinda roe is the only child of verna malinda and merula snyde. they are close with their parents, even though he gets in trouble and causes headaches for her mums.

motion;

ethel has a something of a power walk. she aims to dress practically and comfortably so her clothes won't hinder her movement when she's out there solving crimes and stuff! she's also purposeful and precise in her movements.

formal;

ethel's formal wear takes inspiration from muggle fashions of her era but she also likes to experiment with magic on her outfits.

favourite;

ethel doesn't necesarily have a particular item she values above all but she loves her statement jewelry pieces. especially a bracelet she inherited from her mother.

nova hartley:

motion;

nova is quite tall, so she has a long stride. she's not particularly graceful or nimble though, and slouches often. she can be a bit clumsy.

formal;

nova's casual style is relaxed and laid-back but for parties she likes to wear boldly coloured suits or a trusty black dress.

favourite;

nova loves her collection of graphic tees but her all-time favourite item is a burgundy hoodie that she's had for ages. it has holes in the sleeves from wear and tear.

rowan and verna are an og friendship, and i adore their relationship a lot. while i headcanon rowan to be nonbinary, i think that they identified as a girl, since she probably didn’t have the vocabulary to voice their gender identity as a pureblood wizard in the 80s and 90s.

max avery and ginny weasley

max and ginny are dormmates and don’t start out as friends but they grow closer throughout their fifth and sixth years at hogwarts.
