lis de: a rant
i've never been a person to publicly rant about games like this, but considering how life is strange is one of my favorite franchises ever, and how it's being absolutely SHIT on by the current devs and publisher..
we need to talk.
i was there during the OG days of the original game's release. granted, i was only 14 and a dumb teenager, but i definitely used tumblr when people called this game "life is tumblr".
i remember the theories. i remember the lets plays. i remember the excruciating wait between episodes. the fanart. the fanfics. i remember the extreme disappointment with the endings, but also how people came to.. accept them. to some degree.
that won't happen this time.
d9 and square enix fumbled this franchise so hard by putting out this new "so-called" sequel to the first game. the blatant disrespect for the characters created by dontnod, who seemed to put actual love into their characters, is just fucking insane.
i'm not a huge shipper in general, but even *i* know, as someone who was there during the original release, how much a profound impact pricefield have had on people. hell, it even helped 14 year old me, who struggled with massive internal homophobia, already at that point start to question my sexuality.
pricefield helped me become comfortable with who i am.
to reduce their relationship to something as.. people moving on because its realistic??? it's a fucking supernatural game. there's nothing realistic about it. there's already such a HUGE lack of *happy* sapphic relationships, and pricefield was one of those that deserved a happier outcome. you're essentially punishing those who picked bae, but also bay-ers by staining chloe's memory. making her seem like nothing more than an bitch in both endings.
we waited 10 years for this bullshit?
it's so fucking obvious that these corpo assholes hate chloe and everything she stands for, and that we should forget about her. ironic really, considering they made a whole ass game about her in BTS. what even *happened*?
"move on". hell, it's literally *written* in the game. they're trying to essentially reboot max so they can keep pushing new games with her.
if pricefield is truly dead, with 0 chance of coming back because they wants us to "move on" - i hope life is strange is over. i hope whatever plan they have for another shallow entry in the series crashes and burns. the fans deserve better, and so does the d9 devs that might've pushed against this happening in the first place.
whatever the full release may be (which, going by devs statements and leaks won't be any better), know this:
this game doesn't have to be canon.
you can ignore it.
fuck deck nine. fuck square enix.

Gendry âa hidden bastard / a kingâ theory
As a Gendrya shipper i am not prone to ship Arya with anyone else. I respect other ships but i donât like it. When i read something about others i always find a way to turn their proofs from the books into Gendrya thing :D And the most frustrating one for me was âyouâll marry a kingâ quote said by Ned Stark to Arya. The interesting side of this quote, it changed in the TV series. And so many readers thought it means they will change something, maybe they wonât add a character who mentions in this quote(like Aegon the Young Griff thing). I still donât know why they changed; maybe George himself wanted it but if we only focus the books now my thoughts about this quote changed in good sake of Gendrya. It will be long. Here we go;
The chapter Ned met with Gendry has full of knowledge about Baratheon brothers(plus Renlyâs shit comment about Shireen), their characters, their differences and similarities and even it mentions Lyanna Stark;
âCould it be that Lord Renly, who looked so like a young Robert, had conceived a passion for a girl he fancied to be a young Lyanna?â
And end of this chapter we met with Gendry personally. Remember Nedâs quote about âmarrying a kingâ. It was on Nedâs previous chapter which is two chapters before(there is only just one of Jonâs chapter between two Ned Starkâs chapters).
Now, after Ned Stark told to Tobho Mott âI should like to see the boy as wellâ the story begins to evolve about a hidden prince. English is not my first language so i donât know how i can explain to you well but if you read the chapter again i assume you can see the process too. There is a boy who the last Hand of the King interested so much, and the other one came and wonder about him. And there is a protector who is Tobho Mott knows about him but didnât want to say anything. Then Ned insisted and Tobho says he wants no trouble. Then Ned tells him send him to me later etc.
But thatâs just feeling of course, iâll give you more hints about the âmarrying a kingâs part;
Ned says âa kingâ not âthe kingâ. We know the differences from Margaery Tyrell on the show; She wanted to be âthe queenâ not âa queenâ. But Ned says to Arya âyou will marry a kingâ like any king. Because as we know Sansa got engaged with the prince so it means she will marry âthe kingâ actually. And who ever he is there will be just one âthe kingâ. So it means Arya will marry other king if she do so. But who is he?
Now weâll check Street of Steel. What it says about;
âNed turned off the square where the Street of Steel began and followed its winding path up a long hill, past blacksmiths working at open forges, freeriders haggling over mail shirts, and grizzled ironmongers selling old blades and razors from their wagons. The farther they climbed, the larger the buildings grew.â
As you read there are so many forges, and the largest buildings aka richest ones are on the higher than the others. And where is Tobho Mottâs?
âThe man they wanted was all the way at the top of the hill, in a huge house of timber and plaster whose upper stories loomed over the narrow street. The double doors showed a hunting scene carved in ebony and weirwood. A pair of stone knights stood sentry at the entrance, armored in fanciful suits of polished red steel that transformed them into griffin and unicorn.â
Of course at the way top of the hill like a castle! Tobho Mott is a rich bastard! He is the man who made armors for our fashion love birds;Loras&Renly. And just look at the details the paragraf gives us; hunting scene on the door(Baratheon alert!) and there are stone knights at the entrance. Like how rich is this man?! His huge house looks like a qualified nice castle.
And then Tobho takes Ned to Gendry. And now i wonder why they go to see Gendry but not call him to come? Like this is the Kingâs hand! Why he have to go to see a boy but not this boy couldnât come to see him? But Tobho says when Lord Arryn came he took him and Stannis to the forge to see the boy. So maybe Lord Arryn wanted to see Gendry at the forge and Tobho made the same thing for Ned.
âTobho Mott gave him a cool, careful look. âAs you wish, my lord,â he said with no trace of his former friendliness. He led Ned out a rear door and across a narrow yard, back to the cavernous stone barn where the work was done.â
But still this walk which Ned made for see Gendry seems to me appering before the king. Tobho accompanies him for direction and Ned follows him and then they reach the forge; to Gendryâs bench.
âAlmost shyly, the boy led them to his bench, and a steel helm shaped like a bullâs head, with two great curving horns.â
And boom! Bench like a counter/seat. But bench also used as âa royal seat; a wide throneâ on Middle English. So guys, Ned Stark visited King Gendry on his throne room :)
Okay, enough for this chapter. Now letâs beam up Brienneâs chapter on AFFC;
You know the story. There is an inn with full of children, and there is Willow which is Arya and there is Gendry as their protector. The important part is this;
âThe common room was crawling with children. Brienne tried to count them, but they would not stand still even for an instant, so she counted some of them twice or thrice and others not at all, until she finally gave it up. They had pushed the tables together in three long rows, and the older boys were wrestling benches from the back. Older here meant ten or twelve. Gendry was the closest thing to a man grown, but it was Willow shouting all the orders, as if she were a queen in her castle and the other children were no more than servants.â
And this from AGOT;
"You," Ned said, kissing her lightly on the brow, "will marry a king and rule his castle, and your sons will be knights and princes and lords and, yes, perhaps even a High Septon."
Arya marry a king; it means she will be a queen. And she is the one who will rule her husbandâs castle. And their sons will be royals.
Gendry is a man grown in the inn: A king.
Willow/Arya is the one who orders: A queen.
Boys are wrestling benches: knights, princes, lords etc.
And as i said on the top there is Robert&Lyanna mentions on this chapter. Now letâs read sentences as this;
âCould it be that Renly (Gendry), who looked so like a young Robert, had conceived a passion for a girl (her niece)he fancied to be a young Lyanna?â
âA girlâ part originally mentions to Margaery who Sansa wishes has a sister like her :) But yeah, she has Arya Stark who is Lyannaâs niece and more looks like Lyanna than Margaery.
I accept i forced too much this time. But âa kingâ means a lot and Gendrya forever!

Last part of my Summer Fic Reading Challenge journey and ngl, it's extremely satisfying seeing the whole card ticked off. XD
19. Parallel universe
At first, I wasn't even sure what was meant by 'parallel universe', wondering whether not every AU story is technically a parallel universe. XD But then I searched for the tag and stumbled upon "The Unforeseen Possibility of Universes" by MsRosemaryPrince and finally, it clicked. We're talking about 'parallel universes' in the physical sense... đ Yes, sometimes I'm a bit slow. Didn't stop me from enjoying the story, though! The thought of Hermione and Severus finding each other in every universe just makes my shipper's heart sing, so I devoured this one and might keep my eyes open to find more stories with this tag. ^^
11. Mythical creature AU
Although creatures are a huge topic in HP, I've only read a few fics centering around creatures so far. I'm not that drawn to that topic personally, I guess. But digging through the archive for this prompt made me stumble upon "just a mannequin with nothing left to hold" by eatgodbemoss and I have to admit, if they are all like that I should probably read more creature fics... đ I thoroughly enjoyed Severus being possessed by an incubus and I enjoyed even more how our favourite idiots beat around the bush. Go read it if you're in the mood. ^^
24. Canon compliant
Guys, I hit the jackpot with this one! So, canon compliant is hard to do with Hermione and Severus but I still gave it a shot. You never know, right? And not only did I find a cute story about an encounter with them at the end of year one, but it also is about CHESS! đ You cannot imagine how much I love stories about chess! I don't even play chess! I don't know a single chess rule! I can't even envision the moves! And yet I have the time of my life reading them. đ Anyway, the story is "Pawn to Eighth Square" by scratchyquill and it's a quick but adorable read. Didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Go read it!
12. Space AU
For this prompt, I chose a longer story to read, "Sagittaria" by multilingualism. It had everything I love, Snamione, bits and pieces from the book woven into the plot to discover, moments to grin about, and a twist at the end I didn't see coming despite the hints that have been there! I'm hooked for part 2 of the series!
Free Space
Honestly, I don't know if I'm supposed to read a story for this one as well but since I had a one-shot I wanted to read anyway I chose to use it for this. So, "Call me Severus" by kidansong. What a cute story is this? It just ticks all my boxes. Virgin!Severus and explicit consent? Hell, yes! I really love the softness of this story and the fact that it still manages to be hot as fuck. I mean, how could it not? Explicit consent is hot as fuck... đ
This story really was the perfect one to complete this challenge and I'm really happy I made it despite being doubtful a couple of weeks ago. I had so much fun reading all those wonderful stories and am very grateful both for the authors that they've written them and for the mods of the challenge to offer bingo cards. I had a great summer full of reading and chatting with a writer or two in the comments. đ

Have you got predictions about how Rasputin's meeting with other people from his past might go? We already got some very insightful morsels regarding how Osiris and possibly Saladin feel about it, but I'd so love more more more exploration of how Red feels about it... and maybe his meeting with Shaxx also (I am filthy Shaxxwinter shipper). There is so much introspection and self exploration potential and I want all of it.
There are so many possibilities. There always are when it comes to Rasputin! That's part of what makes him so delicious as a character.
First off I think Osiris/Saladin/Shaxx/anyone else will take some time to get used to the idea that Felwinter is back to some degree and it's not just Rasputin mimicking or puppeting dead memories. Being distributed and able to fragment and rejoin means Redâs concept of identity and self is more fluid than humans/Guardians are used to - we're already seeing that with the subminds - and Osiris, Saladin, and Shaxx will need to deal with what's not quite the person they once knew, but what is also not just a recording or hologram. Felwinter's experiences are now part of the huge shifting web of thought and connection that is Rasputin proper. Red seems to have been desperate to âwake upâ in time to warn us about Clovisâ deception, and as previously noted Rasputin is terrible at talking to people, but Felwinter figured it out, so in order to communicate Red probably integrated Felwinter a lot faster and more fully than he otherwise might have. So we might see some turbulence as this new complex of thoughts and memories settles in as part of him, and thatâs going to look weird to us non-distributed entities. Seeing how Red deals with the other subminds will help Osiris understand how Rasputinâs consciousness differs, but Saladin will probably call it malicious or insulting to Felwinterâs memory without understanding how much Felwinter and Rasputin overlap.
Once they're over that hurdle, it's time for the difficult emotional journey of Felwinter's past comrades squaring themselves with what and who Felwinter really was. Osiris acts like he's hoping Rasputin learned from Felwinter without letting himself acknowledge the idea that maybe a lot of the traits he admired in Felwinter and values in himself - fearlessness, intensity, tenacity, independent judgement, a willingness to cross boundaries - came from Rasputin in the first place. I donât know how thatâll shake out for all of them long-term.Â
On Rasputin's side of things, right now I think he doesn't care how mad people are as long as they're talking to him. For a being created to be a singular authority and tending by nature to solitude Rasputin feels loneliness quite keenly. He forms connections despite himself, same as Felwinter, and those connections give him strength. He needs friends. Once upon a time he had a lot of friends, and they all died, and then even when one or two came back it was just one or two, and then he got gut-punched into a box and trapped barely conscious for a while, and so now Felwinter has sort of automatically brought in new friendship bonds that Red wants to keep badly enough to forge through a minefield of pain and guilt. So he'll probably keep talking to Osiris, and either try to talk to Saladin or split off a process to listen to him rant if he doesn't want to talk, and perhaps even say hello to Shaxx and Efrideet, partly because he feels an obligation to talk to those affected by his actions but also because Rasputin is lonely and scared right now and these are people who once mattered a great deal to part of him.
#Destiny 2#Season of the Seraph#I kicked around the idea of Red integrating a sort of half-projection of Felwinter a while ago#because I assumed he had a scan of Felwinter at or just before the moment he died#for purposes of being sad I MEAN analyzing the threat#it's the fastest way for him to learn how to have a conversation#but boy is it going to look weird from our end#ra ra Rasputin Mars' greatest war machine#this is the wager of existence#output generated

My November 2023 toy haul got here yesterday. I am supper upset, that I didn't request to have these items shipped in a smaller box posible. Because I know I could have saved at least 30USD, had they shipped them in a smaller box!! Fault's on me! DX Despite the box being more massive than it needed to be, they still manage to ruin my Byakuya's SHFiguarts' box, which I am pretty much more irked about, then the actual fact they could have sent everything in a much smaller box. There was absolutely no excuse for anything getting damaged, in such a huge box, more so when the shipper has zero damage. >__<;;

i. this blog is private, selective, and mutuals only. i curate a safe space for myself to relax and write - and that includes keeping my dash clean. if i follow you - please be aware it's because i want to write and enjoy seeing you on my dash! additionally, i am multiverse, multiship, crossover, oc (especially given the nature of ffxiv), au, and duplicate friendly. i do not do exclusives.
ii. my activity can be a bit sporadic. i have a number of other blogs in a different fandom and also enjoy... playing the game so, at times i may simply not want to write. if it's been longer than two weeks since you've received a reply for me, or i have not liked/acknowledged something you tagged me in - feel free to poke me about it.
iii. i am a rather wordy writer, usually about 3-4 paragraphs in length. i also format my posts (small text, double to triple spaced, some colors here and there). i occasionally use icons as well, but not always. i don't expect my partners to match me word for word - but quality over quantity is always appreciated. and of course, i do enjoy the occasional bantering one liners as well.
iv. no art on this blog is mine unless stated otherwise. any and all resources (from art to graphics) will either be credited here or on my carrd.
v. i don't do drama. i don't do it at all. don't drag me into it. reblog call out posts to your hearts content but i'm old and tired and don't want to participate. that being said, standard DNIs apply to this blog. if you, as a mun, condone or write pedophilia (that includes sexual instances with lalafells), incest, rape, etc - begone. racism, homophobia/biphobia, transphobia, ableism, etc by muns is not tolerated here.
vi. i love shipping. i am weak for it. it's an excellent character development tool and lends itself to some great interactions. i am a huge shipper at heart and am happy to ship. toxic, romantic, platonic? as long as there is chemistry and it's not gross, i'm usually down. that being said - i do like to develop a repetoire with muns beforehand, and shipping IS NOT THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF THIS BLOG. also, i feel like i shouldn't have to type this out - but i do not, under any circumstances, romantically ship estinien with minor muses/minor coded muses (lalafell), and this INCLUDES the twins.
vii. again - NSFW will be present on this blog. estinien and i are both over the ages of 25 and i don't shy away from writing smut, violence, gore, drug use, etc. i will always make an attempt to tag triggers and place sexual content under a read more.
lastly - my discord id is available to mutuals upon request, as is my character name. i'm always happy to vibe in game or just talk memes. please don't be afraid to hit me up i guarantee you i'm more afraid of you than you are of me.

Okay so there's a discussion going on in @thecoolerliauditore's asks about feminization/twinkification of characters etc and it specifically started with a discussion on fanon depiction of Grian and I have thoughts? But I also don't really think they're like. Relevant to the specific conversation happening there.
(Also this was written late at night, sorry for any typos or bad phrasing etc.)
My fandom background is kind of all over the place. I didn't "come from" the anime fandoms that lean toward "twinkification," but I did wander through them on my winding fandom journey. I think the Naruto fandom in particular kind of colored my perceptions on gender and shipping, because I was a fan of pairing Naruto and Sasuke together and if you're wondering why I didn't use a ship name for them, holy crap do I have a story for you.
Sometimes, when a particular ship is popular enough in the fandom, it starts to like. Ouroborus itself to create shipping debates. I saw that in Miraculous with the various sides of the love square arguing over which is "better" or the "truest" form of the ship, but even before that, I saw it with the Naruto and Sasuke ship. During the height of the fandom, NaruSasu and SasuNaru were considered two different ships by many people. The fandom started refering to the ship in general, both NaruSasu and SasuNaru, as either NaruSasuNaru or SasuNaruSasu. Unlike Miraculous, though, you had actual visceral dislike of the "other side" from some NaruSasu or SasuNaru shippers. I remember one SasuNaru fan outright saying that if they tried to read NaruSasu, their "panties stayed dry." (I am not even joking).
There was a difference in how the two dynamics were portrayed, too. Some SasuNaru shippers would "twinkify" and "feminize" Naruto, while some NaruSasu shippers did the same to Sasuke. They did it in different ways, with SasuNaru!Naruto being more cute and affectionate, with NaruSasu!Sasuke was more defrosting-ice-queen, for lack of better terms, but the fact is that both of them (I would argue especially Naruto, but I'm biased) got feminized in their portrayals in the fandom.
That "panties-being-dry" comment stuck in my head and probably warped my perception of ships in general, to be honest. Shipping in fandom is a very female-centric hobby, and I have noticed in several instances that sometimes (but not always!) who people ship relates to which character they identify with and what character they're attracted to. In male-male pairings, the former is more likely to be "feminized," while the latter is more likely to stay masculine. I don't like talking about this because it feels ⊠really reductive of shipping, which is something I like, but ⊠there is a cynical side to it, too. Not always. Probably not even most of the time. But it happens. That's propbably why that girl who was a huge SasuNaru fan didn't like NaruSasu â she saw herself in Naruto and was attracted to Sasuke, so having Naruto taking the penetrative role in sex didn't appeal to her.
With trans representation becoming more mainstream, especially in the Hermitcraft/Life SMP fanfic corners, there's been some instances of certain characters being portrayed as trans men (with vaginas). This is fine, and this is good, because trans rep is awesome ⊠but the cynical side of me still kind of frowns because sometimes it seems like certain characters get portrayed as trans men more often than others, and it feels kind of reminiscent of that kind of sentiment I saw in the Naruto fandom. I don't like these cynical thoughts, and I definitely don't want people to stop having trans/non-binary/etc headcanons for characters, but like. There are trends that are ⊠suspect. Like, sometimes it feels like the trans rep isn't there for the sake of trans rep so much as there so that a (probably mostly male-attracted) female audience can have sex scenes where the anatomy of the men involved matches the anatomy of a cishet pairing. (This obviously doesn't apply to fics where both/all people in the ship are trans men, ships where a headcanoned trans man is shipped with a cis woman, etc. It also doesn't apply to fic without sex scenes, or fic where the trans-ness of the headcanoned trans man character gets plot focus, fic written by trans people, or other exceptions I'm not thinking of atm.)
When it comes to Grian in particular, I feel like portraying him as a trans man just ⊠really doesn't match canon as well as him being a trans woman or an AMAB genderfluid person, imo. (There are portrayals of him as such and I will give them credit, but just hear me out for a second.) In YHS/TS, there's a scene where Sam forces Grian into a Princess Leia costume (the same one he showed Scar here) and when Taurtis noticed Grian's costume has boobs (which are apparently watermelons taped to his chest), Grian said "I didn't bother taking them off" and, more importantly, "I kind of like them." [Source]. There is, of course, Ariana Griande (who Grian uses "she" pronouns for [source]), and also Mother Spore. It was also Grian who came up with the idea of "Cute Guy" and described him failing a HotGuy shot as "I'm not cute enough." To me, it feels like character!Grian is very comfortable with feminization, to the extent where I think a trans woman headcanon works, much better (in my opinion, fandom stuff is always super subjective) than a trans man headcanon.
Also, while I know people seem to not want to count YHS/TS when coming up with fanon for characters because SamGladiator is, well, SamGladiator, I do think it does give some fuel for Grian being gender-questioning. Not only do you get the Princess Leia dressup scene above, but like. Grian's first love interest in that was genderfluid ["I can be whatever you want me to be" source] and, based on how others talked about them, AMAB. You can very easily come up with a headcanon of Grian starting to question his gender from his experiences with MajoEllen, especially as his whole thing with MajoEllen canonically got him to question his (character not cc's) sexuality [source].
And to give credit to fans who do depict Grian as either a trans woman or otherwise non-trans man genderqueer:
DDVAU (aka Double-Hearted) does a fantastic job of this. Like, as someone who likes to draw, I am just blown away by how they can put Grian in stereotypically feminine clothing but still give him/her/them a masculine frame. It's great, and it is not easy to do, but they do it fantastically.
There Are Monsters Nearby includes Grian's gender-nonconformity as one of the things he's insecure about and helps develop his character with it. It's really cool that the author decided to enhance Grian's obsession with how he's percieved by adding a layer of "I'm a guy so I'm supposed to be masculine, so I should hide that I like feminine things."
Even before I started contemplating character!Grian being genderqueer or a trans woman, TibbyCaps made me laugh with this post. "My gender? Come back with a warrant." IT'S SO PERFECT XD (also lol gender beam does not change anything for Grian)
Not only has bc-jpeg done a great fanart of an Ariana Griande with a masculine body here but they also have a good post for Ariana Griande as an aspect of a genderqueer Grian here.
Just to clarify: I'm not criticizing portrayals of trans man Grian. I'm voicing my thoughts on how parts of fandom tend to physically feminize Grian when there is, imo, a better base for psychologically feminizing Grian, in the context of responding to a conversation I saw about the feminization of male characters and Grian specifically.

Hello my fellow adrimi/adrigami shippers, I am currently on a search for adrimi fanfiction, and I am looking for help in my quest to find actual adrimi fanfiction
Requirements for fics
Written by someone who actually likes adrimi. I feel like I shouldnt have to say this, but if the fic is clearly a vent fic about how much the author hates adrimi, itâs not what Iâm looking for
Not Salt. Obviously Iâm not looking for adrimi salt, (which ends up in the ship tag sadly often) but also, if the fic exists primarily to bash/ salt on/ call out any character or relationship, itâs not what Iâm looking for. I donât want âadrimi should happen because the love square is awfulâ type fics, I just want some fics that are appreciating adrimi for adrimiâs sake
Actually adrimi fics. Nothing against luka and marinette, but if thereâs just two sentances where itâs implied that adrien and kagami are dating and the rest of the fic focuses on a different ship, then itâs not what Iâm looking for right now. Also if Adrien and Kagami are dating for the very beginning of the fic and then break up, itâs not really an adrimi fic either
Also I do love and appreciate adrigaminette but again, thatâs not what Iâm looking for right now, Iâm just looking for adrimi
Preferably fics with a happy ending? I do appreciate angst now and then, but Iâd really like some adrimi fics where they get to be cute and happy together
Thatâs it. Those are literally the only requirement for fics. I am sure there are some fics like that out there and Iâve hunted down a few on ao3 but Iâm having way more struggles than I feel like I should, so if anyone has any fic recs, let me know!
#adrimi#adrigami#adrien agreste#kagami tsurugi#miraculous ladybug#ml#also to clarify#i am a huge love square shipper#i adore those two#and i think theyre soulmates#and i want them to end up together eventually#but i also really really appreciate adrimi#i like their dynamic#i think they could be really cute together#and thats where the hyperfixation is staying right ble#*right now#i cant spell

As I am not trying to make my blood pressure spike again about this last episode of the Book of Boba Fett (I have so many loves and twice as many hates for this whole series), I'm going to talk about Din and Boba.
I am a huge BobaDin shipper. I'll happily read stories with other ships, but this is my favorite by a lot. And this episodd just... holy cow!
Last week, I mentioned that I couldn't think of a single time that Din did a job for free. Normally when he's helping someone it's because he has to fix their problem in order to get what he needs. In s2 of the Mandalorian, Boba offers to help even though they're square. Pretty sure that's the only time people help Din without asking something in return.
So in the Book of Boba Fett e5, when Din realizes that Boba could use some help, he agrees for no price. Boba needs help, that's all he needs to know. And (in e6) he goes above and beyond by asking a personal favor to Cobb Vanth so Cobb will help Boba.
So this week, damn! Din's not going to leave Boba, even if it gets him killed, which it probably will. He offers to get Boba out, but Boba says he won't leave the people of his city and Din's just like "okay then, we die like men." Not only that, but Boba is totally accepting of Din's way and creed. He tries to get Din to go get safe, but when Din says no, he respects it. He respects Din's creed, which like never happens.
And then their fight. They've only fought together once and only at the end did Boba have his own arsenal. They're protective of each other. They literally go back to back. They constantly pick each other up, or stand in the way of bullets (or whatever they're called) to protect one another.
They are so devoted to each other already, and they don't have to be. Boba don't have to help Din and Din didn't have to help Boba. They chose to die together.
Damn!
I have feelings!

I am a hard Taekook shipper but recently Jikook have been melting my heart by being so cute and cudly and loving. I understand and i am sorry for so mhch hate from Taekookers but trust me Taekookers are a bit shaken right now. I cannot disclose my name here but i would like to say if Jikook is real or they decide to come out which i higly doubt then i am 100% in support and also ur page helped me open my eyes and see a diff sude of shipping which is needed alot more. I am Loving Love ryt now.
C'est la vie!
So sorry for the late response love. You've always been on my mind.
I get not every Taekooker is wild and rabid just as not every Joker is sane and fake woke. Lol.
I mean I'm still holding on to my grudge against your people for storming my business pages and leaving shit reviews on my books- and laughing about it? What was that? Damn. Had to change my author name and everything and I've since been publishing under an alias- let me tell you, it's no fun at all.
In retrospect, I shouldn't have called y'all's ship dead- but honestly it dead, it dried up like a drop of sweat on a dessert. What can I say? People just don't want the truth, lol- had these angry thirteen year olds and fake woke Jokers coming for my ass and my business ass on the flamingo app. Chilee. Your people don't want to be civil. Sigh.
Some people just have no sense of personal responsibility and when they get called out for it they slap you with the whole, 'no one asked you to put yourself and your business out there' - this creepy behavior and mental adroitness is not far from rapists blaming girls for wearing short shorts and mini skirts or thieves blaming people for not putting up a fence and shit to protect their property. It's fucked up.
And don't get me started on what they do to Jimin or JK... or even Tae- not to make you feel bad or anything. It's just my people suck, your people suck, we all suck square- don't apologize for it unless you plan on doing something to change it?
As for Taekook, yea I don't think there is anything wrong with shipping them. They have a beautiful bond, they are both visuals and both funny as hell. If you won't ship them I will. Lol.
Just know the reason you are shipping them? If you are shipping them because you genuinely believe they are a couple too then you need to stop shipping them and start supporting them?
And once you start supporting them then I think you'd sooner realize there isn't anything there to support in the first place. Lol.
I support Jikook because I believe with my full chest they are real and are closeted- emphasis on closeted. And for the record, they are the only queer couples in BTS.
Tae lost his queer card when he accidentally outed Jimin on that radio show. 'I think he likes men' yea, straight up het behavior. Lack of homo sensitivity.
Did you see JK's reaction when JM was asked to spill tea on their pervy behaviors behind cams? My butt quivered. Chilee, I thought he was gone out JK too. Damn.
I think the word real and closeted have come loose and cheap on these streets these days. I don't think most of these shippers when they throw it around fully understand the term or realise what it means and what it takes. If they did, they wouldn't randomly be labeling every ship as 'real' within the fandom.
If you believe Taekook is real and that they are equally hiding their sexuality as well as their relationship within the group, then you should understand how severe and traumatizing this fact is and would be for them as gay men?
The thing is, they are not just hiding parts of themselves and their identity for the sake of their careers or military or whatever if they are real, they are lying to millions, millions of people at a time about who they really are by keeping their identity a secret. Secrets are lies honey, however way we want to see it.
If they are real then they are concealing their true identity away from not just their families and friends- if they haven't come out to them, but acquaintances from work, businesses who wouldn't work with them otherwise, brands, sponsors, Heads of states, their fans....
It's one thing for a heterosexual to keep their heterosexual relationship a secret, it's another for a queer person to keep their queerness and or queer relationship a secret.
A lie as heavy as this is bound to take a toll on them, no matter how good they are at hiding it. A secret gets heavy before it gets easy. Not to sell you on anything but do you see any such secret taking a toll on Taekook? Because I see it taking a toll on Jikook.
Do you believe Taekook are closeted? Because I believe Jikook are.
Being closeted means they have to carry the guilt of knowing that each time they pander to heteronormative roles in variety shows or interviews, or imply by omissions that they are straight, or make generalizing statements about their sexuality to avoid addressing their sexuality directly or give it away, that they are lying to people and spewing half truths- seven years in a roll.
Being closeted is not a joke. It's heavy. I think you need to grasp this before you claim it for anyone.
People like to throw the 'closeted' phrase around willy nilly but fail to comprehend its weight and complexity and consequences especially for people that they believe are actually queer.
It's not easy lying to people about who you are. Unless you are a pathological liar and a psychopath, it's like drowning each day you wake up. You die a little each time. Your sexuality is a huge part of your identity and when you deny it for so long by lying and suppressing it, it's like shutting out a peice of yourself and silencing your own voice. The more you push it aside the louder it screams and the harder it fights to come out.
It's a state of constant internal struggle. You wake up everyday contemplating whether to risk the perfect life you've spent years building just so you can turn off the guilt that comes with keeping a secret of this nature.
And each time you get better at omitting or generalizing and evading questions that hint at your truth, the more you hate yourself and the more guilt you feel. This guilt can become a driving force that pushes you to make risky moves and take impulsive actions such as 'borderline outing your relationship'- does that sound like Taekook to you?
If you are not driven by the love you feel for your partner, you are driven by the guilt and neither is a great place to be if you are queer.
You lie everyday, you get caught up in the lies and soon you start believing in the web of lies you've woven around yourself such that you don't even recognize who you are or why you are, anymore. As such, you are constantly searching for yourself, to reconcile the bits you've hidden away and perhaps forgotten, and you keep exploring your identity because you are unsettled- honey, that sounds more like Jikook than Taekook to me but c'est la vie.
Being closeted is not about moments that get cut by editors, or less interactions, or being seperated or seated further apart from eachother. These are just ship street parlance. Being closeted is an attitudinal, internal attribute rather than external manipulations or influences- it's a science. Lol
Coming out may be risky for any of these boys if they are real, but I promise you hiding is much harder for them.
And so When I look at Taekook, and I see how beautiful they are yet I don't in God's honest truth see them 'dealing' with any or all of these struggles Jikook deal with or have dealt with at one point, in my opinion- forget the homophobia, the wanting to come out, the low key microaggressions they deal with even within the group- 'the Jk never stops crying,' 'the real men don't do this and that talk' talk, the toxic masculinity and internalized homophobia traits JK and Jimin used to exhibit in their early days talking about 'real men don't twerk,' 'real men don't wear rings on their pinky'- all the times Jimin have had to defend his masculinity or even femininity, or stand up for Kook's within the group. 'Men, men, men. What is men?'
Jikook are the only two within the group that in my opinion have struggled most with their identity, with embracing aspects of themselves; you hear them complain about 'living a lie' 'tired of hiding, lying' and all these are themes consistent with closet behavior that they've both explored in one way or the other and even as of 2020 they are still dealing with or 'exploring' their identities perhaps as a means to reconcile their true selves? I'm really struggling with this post because I don't wanna get salesy on your ass. Lol.
Don't get me wrong, Tae struggles and deals with issues too- mostly with loneliness, lowkey depression in my opinion, lowkey bullying- sometimes, lol and he often expresses a desire to find someone and be happy and yet 'his supporters' don't recognize that...
You can wait till Jikook come out officially as queer, if they ever chose to, to support them- Or you can choose to support them and love them now because that's what they need in order to officially come out as and when they choose to? Ok I'm being salesy. Lmho. I'll stop. Don't mind me. But think about it.
Ship whatever ship you want but support Jikook. It's all I'm asking. And by support, I mean don't exhibit any anti homosexual attitude towards them- deadass. You and I gone fight, square up toe to toe, if you do. Lol.
People don't need to be afraid of Jikook. They just need to treat them as human beings and not reduce them to a mere ship. They are a ship too yes, but they are more than that if you ask me.
You sound nice. I love you. I'm glad you enjoy my posts. Merry Christmas and cheers to our ships.
Keep supporting Jikook. Jikook is real.
Signed,
GOLDY

The Boys: Season 2 Thoughts
I had to wait eight weeks (though Iâve been checking out the tags and reposting gif sets), but I was finally able to sit down and binge season two of The Boys. I have to be honest: Iâm not sure I loved - or even liked - the directions they went with certain characters/stories. However, it was a solid season and it felt like the closing on an arc in a comic. It felt complete enough that we could end there - at least for a year or so - and still have plenty to come back to in 2022/2023.
Spoilers for Season Two Follow!
The Seven:
-I have to start with Stormfront. I have never read the comics, but I have read the Wikipedia, so I went in knowing that - despite the changes - Stormfront is a Nazi in the comics. And, she was a Nazi in the show. She (smartly) changed with the times - building social media followers, playing on the weakness of others, using an âus vs. themâ story for almost everything. She was savvy. Iâm 100% sure she was using Homelander and that her plan was to use Ryan and all her lab!Supes to form a new Nazi party. When Maeve (a bi woman), Kimiko (a WOC), and Annie (a woman whose assault she mocked) ganged up to beat the shit out of her? Poetic Justice. Only made better by the fact that it was Ryan, her âWhite Saviorâ who basically destroyed her. (I donât want to say kill, because I think she could be alive.) The only thing that would have made it better is if someone in that group was Jewish. (Side note: The fact that Aya Cash is Jewish, but played such a convincing Nazi - that speaks to her talent.)
-We canât talk about Stormfront without bringing in Homelander. We know he craves love above all else. He wants to be worshipped. He feels he deserves it. In many ways he is a spoiled child. Stormfront played him like a fiddle, in my opinion. Do I think he cared for Ryan? Uh, only because Ryan is his son and appears to have his powers - Ryan is someone he could have molded to be a Homelander 2.0. But, I donât think Homelander is capable of real - selfless - love. I just donât.Â
- I can be totally honest. . . as much as I love Antony Starr and Aya Cash - there was just way too much Homelander and Stormfront this season. I understand why their stories took up so much screen time, but I didnât care for their characters and I actually am starting to find Homelander a little one note. He wants to be loved and will do anything to be loved. He also feels that he can do anything he wants. Again, heâs a child. I feel they will need to do something fresh with him in season three or give him less screen time to keep him from getting stale. Â
-Let me briefly touch on  the Church of the Collective. I suppose, in the end, it was a season-long set up to explain how the Boys got the Nazi information on Stormfront. Though, woman is keeping her memorable and photos in her room...so, it didnât really seem like she was trying super hard to hide her past. I thought they might be being set up to be some kind of major player in season three - they do have dirt on Supes and they work with Vought International  and the government - but, Alastair Adana is dead and the Deep is there. . .so, unless the plan is for the Deep to take over the church...?Â
-Speaking of The Deep, in my overview/review of last season, I mentioned that the show could either try to redeem him or have him go fully dark. And, the show surprised me by having him go in-between. Like, he still knows heâs a screwup and he still wants back in The Seven. Heâll do anything to get back in. However, I donât seem him redeemed in any major way nor do I think heâs intelligent enough to be considered a dark character. Guy is just a mess. I have to be honest - I do wonder if the writers know what to do with the character.Â
-A-Train may have only helped Annie and Hughie for selfish reasons, but he still helped. . . so, okay. Iâll give it a bit of a pass. As he said: Hugh saved him in season 1 and he gave them information in season 2 - they are even and it goes back to square one. They arenât enemies, but they arenât friends. I liked A-Train more during this season, but he really wasnât given too much to do.Â
- Maeve got more screen time! Her relationship with Elena was explored! She, as a person, was explored! I understand that she isnât going to suddenly become a true hero. Sheâs become too jaded for that. However, she will still try and do the right thing and I love that about her.Â
-I really grew to love Annie this season. That is all. I still am not a huge shipper of Annie/Hugh, but they are very sweet together.Â
- Lamplighter should not have been killed off so soon. I would have liked to his his guilt and his character explored more.Â
-This truly was the season of The Seven with Homelander, Stormfront, Maeve, and Annie being moved to the front of the storylines. I liked it, but I REALLY missed....
The Boys:
-Iâm sorry, but Marvin T. "Mother's" Milk (MM) is a wonderful human being. He still needs more screen time and a bit more development, but I love that they used him a bit more this season. When he went home to his daughter? Please let him be with his family until the end of 3.01/middle of 3.02. Just let the man watch his shows and make his dollhouses and be happy.Â
- Hugh came into his own this season, and that was wonderful. I am interested to see where his working for his working for Victoria Neuman will go. Especially as he is trying to take down Vought in a legal way, but his new boss is secretly exploding heads.
-Kimiko! My heart ached for her so much this season. She found her brother and found that he had become so brainwashed and full of hate and than she lost him. She pushed Frenchie away and became an assassin for the mob. Her truest friend, Frenchie, pulled away from her. But, in the end she helped take down Stormfront and she and Frenchie literally danced off together. Kimiko didnât get that much screen time after 2.03, but what she did get -Â Karen Fukuhara used.Â
-Frenchie also got some great development this season. Iâm still going to call him Frenchie, even if his name is Serge. It was great that he realized that a part of the reason he focused in on protecting Kimiko was because he has failed to protect others. When he told her he would leave her alone? Aw, no - just back off a bit. And he did, and she taught him her language!Â
-Frenchie x Kimiko are my couple on this show and they need to dive into that âItâs not sexual and itâs not quite romantic, but itâs way more than friendship/familyâ thing they have going on.Â
-Letâs talk Butcher. Heâs selfish. He is. He was willing to give up Ryan to get Becca back. But, heâs not heartless. He couldnât separate his wife from her son. And, while I think he might have killed Ryan if Homelander hadnât shown up - he gave Ryan to people who will try and keep him safe and shape him into a good person. Do I think heâll go dark because of Beccaâs death? Probably. If they follow the comics (which they arenât anymore, but they may want to follow overall character stories), heâll have to go dark. Iâm sad they killed Becca - she could have just gone with Ryan. But, it will be interesting to see if Butcher takes up the offer to work secretly for the government.Â
Season Three Predictions/Hopes:
- I think the show will fast forward a bit. Weâll see The Seven as heroes in public, but all facing their own issues in private. We may see other Supe teams.Â
- I think The Boys will be separated for a bit: Hughie working for Neuman, MM with his family, Frenchie and Kimiko off on their own, Butcher doing his own thing. And something will happen that will cause them all to come back together.Â

Your first ask is me? I feel bad now your first ask is about a biased CA... :( I always see you out there writing great ideas and opinions on things! You deserve more asks! About my ask I know other people picked their favorite and all, but that's all they did. A VA is like saying all these things about A fixing C and shit and that's not it. That's not the story. That's not the game. She's putting wrong ideas in the fans/shippers heads while working for SE. I just find that a little pathetic. +
2/2Â + but I won't e-mail anyone. That was just me being petty. And kind of joking too. (Sorry for my English)
Oh, please, donât feel bad at all! I think itâs a great starting question to get me thinking. Also, your English is FANTASTIC. I assumed you were a native speaker!Â
I 100% agree with you on how sheâs saying the wrong things. I didnât even know she was going that far. Like I said, I really canât tolerate watching her because itâs so extreme to one side.Â
Based on that, it sounds like she really didnât play through the OG. Itâs clear that Aerith doesnât do anything to âfixâ Cloud. Her job and her role is for the overall plot of FF7. Sheâs a very important character in that regard. Without her, the world is screwed (well, without her in the Lifestream but). Tifa legit is the only one that can help fix Cloud later on - by guiding him and letting him come to terms with everything on his own.
Did Aerith make Cloud a bit more open? Yes, absolutely. Every character that Cloud deals with develops him further, and I love that. Itâs not just Tifa or Aerith. Barret. All of AVALANCHE gives him development. Marle gives him development. The Trio, Jules, all of them. Itâs wholesome as hell that he really does listen and refers to things heâs learned later in the game. Watching him go from âNot interestedâ to being super worried about Wedge when he falls from the pillar is GOOD CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.Â
I think Aerith teaches him some social skills - like high-fives. Itâs silly, but Cloud was afraid to high-five. His persona wonât let him do anything thatâs gonna make him possibly get rejected or hurt. Itâs silly, but our boy is pretty messed up at this point.Â
She also teaches him sympathy. When sheâs talking about Zack in the park sheâs just SAD. I felt for her. I was really glad they did so much Zack/Zerith referencing in the remake. This isnât to say he didnât show any sympathy or concern before - he did notice a lot if Tifa seemed nervous or upset. This was more obvious, though, because he was pretty closed off from Aerith until she talked about Zack.Â
Cloud softens up when he realizes sheâs sad about this unknown person who he isnât allowed to know the name of, which to me is a huge improvement with how he dealt with things like that before. @silver-wield Did a full interpretation of the park scene that covers this in more detail. She also has one on the high-fives.
Him learning to listen to people instead of blowing them off, him remembering the lessons Tifa taught him at surviving life on the ground floor, (he asks her in Chapter 10 if following the stench is another lesson... as heâs smiling btw).Â
What actually will piss me off is people saying he was a stoic, closed off jerk until Chapter 8. Itâs just not true. He grew a LOT from his first line to his last one in Chapter 7. Before Aerith. Then he continues to grow. Shipping who you want is fine until you start deleting parts of the actual story.Â
If the story didnât go in the Cloti direction, I guarantee you I probably would have gone with whatever the final pairing was. I generally do. Squall and Rinoa, Yuna and Tidus, Celes and Locke, Rosa and Cecil. You know, the linear relationships.Â
The exception for me was Lucrecia and Vincent... cuz I just was so grossed out that she picked Hojo. DoC cleared up some of it, but still. I had head canon that Vincent was Sephirothâs father yada yada. When I found out itâs canon that Hojo is - that thereâs legit NO POSSIBILITY of Vincent being his father, I accepted it. I didnât go online and start twisting the story and attacking people. It didnât take away from my fan fiction enjoyment at all.
I assume itâs like people who ship Squall and Quistis, for example. Nothing in the game indicates this (he rejects her hard - âThen go talk to a wallâ), but people do. Thatâs okay, I donât enjoy that pairing (hot for teacher, anyone?), but I know people do. The differences with that pairing and C//erith is NOBODY GOES ONLINE AND FIGHTS THE FF8 STORY TO PUSH THAT SHIP. They donât sit here and rip the story up, ignore parts, donât play past certain parts/skip chapters/quests whatever. Then they start quoting things that were debunked long ago.Â
I am absolutely fine with shipping who you want. You just canât change the actual story to fit it and then argue with facts. Thatâs what makes this brutal. I also donât care if the VAs ship whoever. They just canât put false ideas into the heads of fans. It either creates false hope for one side or anxiety for the other. It doesnât end well, especially since people expect that she may know more than we do. Theyâll take those comments to heart much more than a random person on the internet...
Also: I would not judge or look down on you for emailing Square, cuz I think itâs the funny kind of petty! Iâd be that petty too, but probably never actually send it!

Kingdom Hearts - Rikuâs Possessiveness and Jealousy Part 3
The Counter Arguments
Please read Part 1 here.
Please read Part 2 here.
Please read Part 2 Addendum here.
So far I have hopefully connected some dots to build up to the claim that Riku was always in love Sora so no one can say I pulled this all out of my rump. While itâs obviously true that I am a HUGE Soriku fan, I didnât come into Kingdom Hearts with the intention of shipping. Actually, I disliked Riku at first because I looked at him on the surface, but he's now my most favorite character in the series because of his development and I appreciate KH1 Riku now because I looked back and realized why he was such a brat. When I put together that he possibly had feelings for his best friend everything made sense. By KH2 I was like âHm...Riku seems to harbor very strong feelings for Soraâ and by DDD I was like âOh hell, this boy is in love.â I know that my arguments will not change everyoneâs mind, in fact Iâm sure many read everything I said and came to the conclusion âLook at this crazy Soriku fangirl, reaching to make her pairing real!â I get it, such is the way in any fanbase. For this reason I would like to dedicate this part of my Jealous Riku series to counter some of the common counter arguments. I promise to shut up about KH1 Riku and his jealousy after this lol, I'll be focusing on current Riku and the series' future.
First and most importantly, how do we know Riku is possessive of Sora because he is in love with him? Couldnât he just be jealous of others who claim his spot as Sora's best friend? If Riku was just possessive of his best friend in a platonic way then that would pretty much destroy my theory that he is attracted to and in love with Sora. I would say in Rikuâs case, no his jealousy wasn't platonic. Rikuâs possessiveness goes far beyond what is normal for a best friend. Letâs look back on the scene where he meets Donald and Goofy. If Riku actually bothered to introduce himself and be cordial with Donald and Goofy and Sora sided with Donald even after he refused to let Riku board the ship then I wouldnât even be here writing this. Riku would have rightfully been angry with his best friend, angry that Sora chose to stick by a rude duck over his childhood friend of however many years. But this didnât happen. Riku gave Donald and Goofy a hard look within seconds of acknowledging their presence. Though Donald shows that heâs a jerk Goofy was nice, but neither matter because Riku had already decided he didnât like either of them. This is not normal jealousy, this is clearly a sign of extreme possessiveness. He doesnât like ANYONE new to be around Sora or act friendly with him regardless of their intentions.
Some will probably claim "It's Kingdom hearts the writing is just bad". This is something I've seen before and I want to stress that this is not an argument it's an opinion. Some think the writing in the series is good, some say itâs decent, it's all subjective. For the sake of argument, let's run with the idea that someone claims "Nomura didn't know how to properly express Riku's jealousy which is why he seemed possessive" to branch off the "bad writing" idea. I have two counters for this: Sora and Isa/Saix. Sora says himself in KH2 that he was jealous of Riku which is why he always wanted to compete with him and hopefully beat him. Sora exhibited a far healthier form of jealousy, he didnât care if Riku went off and made new friends, Sora never gave any hard side-eyes to Mickey when he found Riku had started hanging out with him. He didnât start to hate or dislike Riku, he just wanted to compete with and beat him with his own strength. As for the case with Saix, in KH3 he told Axel that he was jealous of his relationship with Roxas and Xion. His jealousy compares greatly to Riku's, he saw someone he was once best friends with get close to someone else. But Saix specifically says:
This is where he differs from Riku, Saix isn't jealous of Roxas and Xion because he's possessive of Axel. Axel stopped hanging around with Saix, stopped helping him look for their missing friend and started focusing more and more on Roxas and Xion which occurred over a period of time not instantly. This goes back to what I said about rightful anger, Saix had every right to feel upset and abandoned by Axel. His jealousy was reasonable. Sora, at no point, alienated Riku the way Axel alienated Saix. Sora never took Donald's side when he said Riku couldn't come, Sora argued with Donald in Riku's defense. Even prior to that, Sora never abandoned or alienated Riku on the island and even when the darkness was swallowing Riku Sora tried to take his hand and go with him. Sora's and Saix's jealousy shows that Nomura/the KH writers (since they do change) know full well how to write jealousy in several different ways, therefore the argument that Riku's possessive jealousy is somehow bad writing is moot. I believe Nomura knew exactly how he wanted to portray Riku.Â
Another counterargument that I commonly see is âRiku wasnât jealous of people close to Sora, he was jealous of Sora himself he said so in KH2âł. First of all, Riku said specifically that he was jealous of Sora because he wished he could âfollow his heartâ the way Sora did and that could be interpreted in a NUMBER of ways that prove my point but Iâll return to that in a second. Some people took this as meaning Riku was jealous of Sora being a Keyblade Wielder but this isn't possible. Rikuâs darkness began on Destiny Islands BEFORE Sora even obtained the Keyblade in fact Rikuâs darkness is what caused Sora to obtain it in the first place as confirmed by Nomura.
âThat part is also a bit vague. In the Destiny Islands when Riku is swallowed by the darkness, there's a sparkle of light, and next comes the scene where Sora first gets the Keyblade, right? In my setting, the darkness wrapping itself around those two is the darkness of Riku's heart. At the moment when Sora enters that darkness, the light you can see is the light of the heart. Sora, trying to help Riku, struggling in the darkness, touches that light and temporarily the Keyblade goes to Sora. â - Nomura
Riku could not be jealous of Sora being a Keyblade Wielder if itâs HIS darkness, HIS jealousy that leads to Sora getting the Keyblade in the first place. This point has been debunked.
Now if we look at what Riku says about being jealous of Sora because heâs able to âfollow his heartâ...I donât know about you but doesnât that seem like Rikuâs admitting that heâs jealous that Sora can follow his heart to Kairi? Sora literally spent all of KH1 following his heart, searching for his crush. Even before that Sora was constantly thinking about Kairi and sharing a papou fruit with her even going as far as to draw himself feeding her the fruit. Riku would only be jealous of this if he was in a position where he couldnât follow his heart. This point about Riku being jealous of Sora actually backs up what I said about Riku being attracted to Sora and learning that Sora is attracted to Kairi, Riku literally canât follow his heart to his hetero (hopefully bisexual) crush. This would yet again explain Riku's initial descent into darkness - he had everything he wanted, the strongest, the smartest, the admiration of the other Island Children, the only thing he didn't have is Sora himself and he grew jealous of Kairi, of Sora's feelings for her. Now Iâm not saying this is true, because Riku could also be jealous of Soraâs ability to follow his heart to his friends in general and not just his romantic crush. You know, the whole platonic thing which is the most likely meaning behind Rikuâs words because KH is all about friendships which is why I did not use this as proof in my essay because I have no way to prove or even show evidence of which way Riku meant it. Iâm just saying it is still possible Riku was referring to the romantic side of âfollowing oneâs heartâ, he could have even meant both.
Now that we have established that Rikuâs jealousy was definitely possessive, letâs head to some of the other arguments. There is usually the âRiku is straight argumentâ which runs along the lines of "Riku said he wanted to share the paopu fruit with Kairi so the one he is in love with is her." Or "Riku is about to be paired with NaminĂ© , he is attracted to girls and is therefore straight." I already addressed Rikuâs feelings about Kairi in the 2nd Part, there isnât really anymore left to add. Namine is also easy to debunk. Nomura confirmed in the KH3 Ultimania that Riku only helped NaminĂ© obtain a Replica body to act on behalf of Replikuâs feelings. In other words, as of now there ainât nothinâ between them. Rikuâs only reason for ever interacting with Namine was to help Sora retrieve his memories and he hasnât really interacted with her too much beyond that. Not to say Square couldn't pull this pairing out of their ass but it would leave much to be desired since this ship doesn't have the buildup that Soriku has. I hope they never go down the route of throwing random pairs out for the sake of pleasing het shippers.
The final common argument that I see literally EVERYWHERE, in just about any fandom, is the inane argument that âYou fangirls just want to make everything gay. Such-and-such is a Japanese work and the Japanese put a higher emphasis on male bonding and intimacy and friendship but itâs not gay, these two characters could never be gay. Japan doesnât accept homosexuality - blah blah blahâ
And wheeeeeew chile, there is so much to unpack here. I honestly didn't even want to touch this but since I see it so much in the KH fandom I felt compelled to address this. First of all, it irks me when people act like homosexuality doesnât exist at all in Japan. Statistics from 2018 claim that about 8.9% of the Japanese population identify as LGBT+ between the ages of 20 to 59. Thatâs 1.1% away from being 10% of the ages 20-59 population, that is a significant number. It is incredibly ignorant to claim that Japanese people do not accept homosexuality, they are all individuals and naturally there will be close-minded people who donât but there are many who do. The conservative Japanese politicians donât accept it, but then again neither do most American politicians. Donât mistake the views of the politicians as the views of the people.
Now, while it is true that those in Japan have different views on masculinity than some in America (ie: men soaking in a hot springs together, touching or even sitting on each others laps isnât incorrectly labeled as âgayâ like it most likely would be here in the States) this doesnât mean that Japanese people donât know the distinction between platonic intimacy and romantic intimacy. They know full well the difference between the two, itâs awful to claim with such arrogance that they donât know as if theyâre clueless. Even within the anime/manga/videogame industry Shounen-Ai and Yaoi exists with men kissing, hugging, touching romantically. As a matter of fact, the Kingdom Hearts novels themselves heavily imply that there is more between Sora and Riku and that Riku does have romantic feelings for Sora. There was a scene in the KH2 novel where Axel asks Riku "What is Sora to you?" Riku is lost for words, instead Namine answers that they're "best friends" for him. Read it for yourself below:
This is the official Kingdom Hearts novel by the way, the writer and artist (Tomoco Kanemaki and Shiro Amano) are both Japanese. Not a random "fangirl's fanfic". And let's not forget that Nomura approves these novels and the manga. They seem to have no problem writing/approving of Riku being canonically gay. You can dislike it all you want but itâs here to stay so get over it. Don't be the person who makes this horrible argument.
The one last counter I want to make is this: If you are against Soriku ask yourself if you would accept the pairing if Riku was a girl.
This Jealous Riku series focused heavily on Kingdom Hearts 1 but there is content across the entire series which could also act as strong evidence for Rikuâs feelings. I could go on for years about how much evidence there is in this series. You can find such evidence plastered all across the net, I will probably touch upon some of it myself. This marks my series' conclusion, I hope the evidence I provided and the counter-arguments Iâve made show that Riku is truly in love with his best friend and that itâs not impossible that Riku could love Sora in a romantic way. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this!!

Luka Couffaine: My thoughts now. (Gale Rants about ML)
I want to say this is strictly my opinion.
Rant below.
(Iâm on Mobile so this is my warning)
__________________________________________
I use to not really like Luka when he first appeared.
Then I was neutral towards him.
But now, I realized how badly this character got f***ed over. I pity him.
I feel like I should be clear, I donât think there is any scenario at this moment where I would ever ship Luka//nette. To be honest it has nothing to do with the character. By all logic and preference, I should be able to ship it. I use to think it was just like an irrational mental allergic reaction to it, but I figured it out. I can say I donât ship Luka//nette because of two major Factors.
1. The canon Writing outside of the Luka//nette encounters:
I feel like this needs some context on why I say this.
First of all Luka has a massive handicap in terms of Love rivals. For one, he is a classmates older brother. Old enough that they are in different schools. If Marinette was in the same school, this probably would not be as huge of a disadvantage. So Marinetteâs only real interactions with him will be actively seeking him out, him seeking her out, or something regarding costume/ designs for the band. Marinette isnât even in the band officially. This really cuts Lukaâs chances for natural interactions.
Kagami is the opposite, she has a Lot Of advantages. She is on Adrienâs fencing team, her mom and Adrienâs dad are business partners and it results in Kagami and Adrien having more encounters naturally. This allows for more development.
Another issue is how little interaction he has with other Characters. At the very least we donât see it. Luka has more verbal interactions with Marinette then any other character combined. We donât get to see whatâs his personality to people he is friends with, even his own family. Itâs so limiting. Itâs like his personality is Musician that likes Marinette. Thatâs it. For me to ship something, I need to have something more to grasp about the character cause I like seeing how the ship brings out the best in eachother. Thatâs why fanon Luka is a lot more interesting and I think that if Fanon Luka was canon this issue would be null.
2. The fandom, spite/salt shippers:
To be honest, this is 90% of the reason I just canât ship Luka//nette. (I can ship Mari with so many others. Even though I love the love square). The spite shippers just paint Adrien and a lot of others in such a nasty light. It sucks that like it seems like 40% of that tag is filled with just character hate of others, specifically Adrien. For those that like the ship for reasons outside of hating Adrien/others, I am completely fine with it. But the spite shipping has just... ruined it for me.
To end my point. Luka got screwed over a lot. I use to think I hated him but really, there is nothing substantial about him for me to hate or love. He is just sort of a plot device for the writers and a weaponized salt weapon for spite shippers.
I honestly wish he gets more development, any kind of development even if it paints him in a negative light. I want to see flaws, I want to see growth and development.
I want a reason to grow to like this character.

Why You Should Be Shipping Shigaraki/Ochako
No, no, hang on a second--I see that side-eye you are throwing hard enough to ruin your peripheral vision. I feel the shade youâre casting like a thundercloud rolling in. But you didnât read wrong. I meant what I said.
Iâve never made a secret of my love for rare pairs, but for once in my damn lonely shipperâs hellscape of a life I would love it if my favorite crack ship in a fandom had more than two fics (Iâm NOT JOKING) to its name.
What can I do to correct this egregious oversight before the entire summer passes with nary a whisper of the most romantic ship since Juliet wherefore art thouâd Romeo?
Well, what else? I was forged in the fires of early 2000sâ fandom, and I know that desperate times call for desperate measures meticulously researched and extremely rose-tinted
Shipping Manifestos.
Fam, I am about to blow your minds, align your chakras, open your third eyes--because Shigaraki and Ochako is the most slept on ship in the entire BNHA fandom, and if you give me ten minutes like an hour (holy shit, this is long), I can prove it.
Disclaimer: @mistystarshine is the enabler who convinced me to write this but we were both enabled by @ohmytheonâs Reconfigure (on AO3) so you know whoâs really responsible.
Spoilers to Chapter 231, watch out.
First off, I know what youâre thinking. Maybe youâre still reading from pure shock. Maybe youâre doubt-reading to get your daily fix of internet skepticism. Maybe youâre waiting for me to say these two characters are meant to be because she wears pink and his hair is blue. Maybe youâre already freaking out about age gaps but like that is what future fics and AUs are actually for!!!
Iâm not telling you to give up your IzuOcha or Kacchako. Iâm not gonna pry ShigaDabi out of your eager little villain stan hands. But if youâve never considered multi-shipping, now is the time my friends, because Iâm totally serious heartfelt here! Iâve got VALID reasons for shipping Shigako--ten of them, in fact:
1) Midoriya is taken for granted as Urarakaâs love interest--but Shigaraki is incredibly similar to him.
There are reams of meta on the parallels between Midoriya and Shigaraki, with plenty people noting how Horikoshi specifically set the two up as foils to examine similar character development despite their drastically different circumstances. Yet for all the meta pointing out that Shigaraki and Midoriya are basically the same character through a mirror darkly, Iâve never seen anyone bear that thought out to its logical conclusion: there are traits Uraraka admires in Midoriya that are extremely apparent in Shigaraki too.
Multiple times in the manga, Uraraka expresses admiration for Dekuâs resolve and refusal to give up. His determination in the face of impossible odds and his sense of dedication to his cause are powerful motivating factors in Ochakoâs storyline, and Dekuâs behavior--his willingness to charge straight into danger and his unflinching pursuit of his goal to be #1--have basically become the standard to which Uraraka holds herself.
Her crush is literally founded on an appreciation for Midoriyaâs drive, earnestness, and constant growth as a person.
But these are all traits that Shigaraki also explicitly possesses. Shigarakiâs unwavering resolve is so strong that even though everyone around him says dream is unattainable... they follow him anyway.
Ujiko flat out tells Shigaraki heâs chasing a pipe dream, but heâs willing to come along for the ride strictly because of how committed Shigaraki is to making that dream a reality. The strength of Tomuraâs conviction alone persuaded a collection of the most volatile and difficult personalities in the manga to band together and become found family the most well-known anti-establishment organization in all of Japan.
Shigaraki never, even in the face of overwhelming threat, backs down from a challenge, and he approaches each impossible task with absolutely as much effort, ferocity, and refusal to quit as Deku. He is just as dedicated, just as much of a shounen protagonist main character, and just as willing to push himself above and beyond as Deku.
The traits that motivated Uraraka to become the character she is today, many of the exact same traits that formed her crush on Midoriya, are all there in Shigaraki. In another world, the person who inspired Uraraka to go âPlus Ultraâ could be Tomura himself, and if 1) no sense of self-preservation, 2) ZERO CHILL, and 3) dogged obsession are what Uraraka finds attractive, Shigaraki clearly has 'em covered. Oh no, heâs meeting all my standards.
2) Being serious though, Ochakoâs role in the plot would be vastly improved by more meaningful interactions with the antagonists, even if just in battle.
Iâve written before about how badly the writing of BNHA treats Ochako, and why her constantly being out-of-focus is a hallmark of the genreâs crippling inability to handle dynamic female characters, but it bears repeating: in her current position in the story, Urarakaâs character has minimal agency. She exists to fill the role of Dekuâs love interest (at worst) and an emotional crutch (at best). Again, absolutely no hate on the IzuOcha ship--itâs clearly canon endgame and âwholesomeâ I guess is what theyâre calling it nowadays. But the way IzuOchaâs being written in canon is actually the worst possible thing that could happen to Urarakaâs individual character, because Ochakoâs crush on Deku has been given virtually no bearing on the storyâs main plot and allows Horikoshi to consistently reduce Urarakaâs personal accomplishments to âinspirations from Dekuâ (in order to, likely, fulfill young male readersâ fantasy of having a girl fixated on them).
Is Uraraka about to do something cool in the manga? Wait for her comment about being motivated by Deku.
Does Uraraka actually get to see some action and get involved in a fight? Wait for someone to bring up her feelings for Deku.
Is Deku about to have a dramatic clash with the storyâs villains to advance the main plotline? Wait for Ochako to entirely vanish (at worst) or get sidelined into a three panel clip where sheâll use the same martial art move sheâs been using since like chapter 10 (at best).
If I have to read âGunhead Martial Artsâ one more fucking time... Give Ochako her OWN supermoves goddammit!!
The story of the comic itself continually pushes Ochako out of any position of relevance. Sheâs not one of UAâs strongest fighters (despite having a quirk that, if applied like ANY of the male characters, has incredible potential), sheâs not given half the emotional depth or attention even side characters like Kirishima get, and her backstory lacks the development many of the male charactersâ get (Iâm looking at you, Todoroki).
As a âgood girl,â she isnât allowed to get her hands dirty like Toga, she isnât allowed to get as bloodied or ugly as any of the boys, and she can never be allowed to surpass the main male characters in coolness or plot relevance because girls can be âheroesâ but they canât be The Heroâą. (Iâm literally gagging, guys.)
Which is EXACTLY why a plot involving Shigaraki and Ochako--in ANY capacity, even just a flat out fight against each other!--would actually be a fan-fucking-tastic addition to BNHA.
Skip the token Toga vs. Ochako chick fight where they squabble over who loves Izuku more. Let Toga talk to Izuku as herself for once. Let Uraraka throw down with the Leagueâs leader. At least once, Horikoshi? Just once?
Literally any form of plot that puts Shigaraki and Ochako into contact would mean moving Uraraka into a more central position within the mangaâs plot, would boost her screen-time, increase the likelihood of her contributing to the storyâs primary conflict, and would give her more to do and emotionally engage with than just repeating the same lines about Deku being amazing on an endless loop. There is untapped character development potential in spades here if Uraraka was given chance to genuinely interact with the other half of the storyâs cast!
Giveđ Urarakađ somethingđ meaningfulđ to do!đ
Putting the storyâs foremost female character on out there on the frontlines with the mangaâs actual main character antagonist would finally break her out of the mold sheâs been forced into by genre stereotypes and set her on an even playing field with the male heroes at last.
A meaningful encounter with Shigaraki could be Ochakoâs ticket to being treated respectfully by the story itself (and hell if giving underappreciated characters a real place in the world isnât Tomuraâs freakinâ calling card already).
3) Okay, I know the words âsubverting expectationsâ leave a bad taste in everyoneâs mouth nowadays, but there is a huge difference between âthrowing inexplicable plot twists at the audience just for shock factorâ and âaverting stale cliches in an emotionally rewarding manner.â Sure, cliches do exist for a reason, but there are still many instances where actively avoiding a cliche plotline is a great choice. A shounen mangaâs token love interest ending up with someone other than the hero--namely with a (reformed) villain--would be an interesting flip on the trite âhero gets the girlâ script.
Look, we all know how it goes: Hero clashes with Bad Guy. They duke it out all over Kingdom Come. RIP like fifty square city blocks. The Hero wins, heads home triumphant, sweeps his Princess off her feet, and sails off into the hero rankings sunset. End of the same story weâve seen a million times. Sometimes itâs done well and the audience is left satisfied. Other times, the heroine involved is reduced to the heroâs reward, less person than wish fulfillment. In either case, tying up a romantic subplot with a hero is the go-to way of resolving female charactersâ storylines and, at this point, pretty much a given in manga, even when the romantic subplot is never given the development it deserves, leaving audiences bewildered at how and why the hook-up actually happened.
Iâm not saying every comic should âsubvert expectationsâ and cancel its romantic subplot between the hero and heroine, of course not. But I am saying that it would be pretty refreshing to see something else for once.
By virtue of their role, villains donât usually âget the girl.â Even redeemed villains rarely end up in happy, healthy, well-written relationships. Itâs not impossible but it is unlikely that a seriesâ designated female lead ever wavers in her attentions from the main hero to a new romantic target.
So it would be pretty cool if one did, if the moral of the storyâs romantic subplot wasnât just "token love interest completes painfully shoehorned romantic gestures.â A good romance with a redeemed ex-villain instead of a hero would take a lot more explanation. It would demand, by its very nature, more work on the authorâs part to suspend disbelief. The characters would have to develop an entirely different rapport from the normal interactions between designated love interests, and, to a certain extent, strong character growth would be required in order for such a romance to even get started. Thereâs more moral complexity and conflict to a subplot like this, and a greater sensation of choice--if the heroine doesnât have to end with the hero by the end of the story, well hey... That means she could end up with just about anyone. Whoa.
Even more so, in the specific case of Shigaraki, who has lived a life of misery and manipulation, the idea that he could come out on the other side, grow as a person, redeem himself, and eventually enter a healthy relationship with someone who isnât going to hurt him is an idea I find deeply appealing. I think there are a lot of villain stans, myself included, who see parts of themselves in Shigaraki. If a character who has been so severely impacted by abuse can still heal and ultimately end up happy, to me, thatâs a far more hopeful and heart-warming conclusion than the alternatives. I did warn you this manifesto would be rose-tinted, didnât I?
I want storylines that prove that none of us are beyond saving. That people who make bad choices can still change. That romance isnât a reward for playing the ârightâ role. That heroines have options. That there are still pleasant surprises to be found in romance plots.
4) But why Shigaraki and Ochako, in particular? Itâs not like they have any remotely shared life experiences--
Oops. Friendly reminder: Ochako is the only major character in the manga besides the villains who is overtly described as, I quote, âpoorer than poor.â Todoroki, Yaomomo, and Iida can all make it rain; Kaminari, Mina, and Jirou can afford stylish clothes; Kirishima can drop a stupid amount on night vision googles... Even Midoriya, whose father âworks overseas,â can afford plenty of All Might merchandise. One of the popular fandom theories for a while was that Ochako could be U.A.âs traitor specifically because of her desire to help her parents financially, and I think that most readers at this point can discern a clear divide in BNHAâs society: heroes are the âhavesâ and villains are the âhave nots.â To be a hero in this story is to attend a prestigious school, have access to expensive support items, gear, insurance, fame and glory, etc.
Meanwhile, with the exception of All For One, to be a villain in BNHAâs story is to be marginalized, live in unfit conditions, lack access to basic safety and nutritional resources, and struggle to make ends meet. When ability to thrive in a hero-centric society is synonymous with being a good and worthwhile person, anyone who doesnât just naturally excel in the hero-driven economy is treated as flawed at best and suspect at worst. Poor characters in the story are ignored, and, as demonstrated with people like Twice, left essentially to fend for themselves.
Urarakaâs status as lower income is mostly played for laughs. Sheâs still a privileged character in that she can attend U.A., receive hero items for free, has a safe place to live, etc. But it is important that the story acknowledges her familyâs situation, because her financial status does set her apart from her classmates.
She is less privileged than the others. Being âthe poor characterâ situates Uraraka in the interesting divide between those who couldnât cope and chose to rebel against hero society instead, versus those who conformed to the hero system in an attempt to improve their situations. In different circumstances, if Urarakaâs family was just even the tiniest bit worse off, we might be seeing a very different character here, one who had to make some much harder choices to keep her family afloat.
Having been in the position of "going without,â Uraraka also has a unique understanding of the âreal worldâ that many of her heroics classmates might lack. She understands what it is like to go hungry, to not be able to afford to keep up with the newest trends, to be constantly anxious about the future--to feel unsuccessful, overlooked, and under constant pressure to perform. As someone who wasnât raised in the lap of luxury or even really a middle-class home, Uraraka has more insight into--and would likely have more empathy for--the plight of the downtrodden daily criminals of the BNHA world. Just based on her own life experiences, Ochako is more likely than her classmates to recognize how harsh reality can be, and understand the temptations that lead people to make terrible decisions.
This makes Ochako an especially interesting character in terms of her pro hero future. Would she be able to sympathize and reach out to struggling "villainsâ more effectively than others from her class, who lack her humble background? Would she be able to better see the big picture of BNHAâs society, and the way it actively creates villains from its marginalized populations? Would she be able to look at the League not just as criminals, but also as people who never stood a chance within the confines of a rigged social structure?
Urarakaâs background shifts her closer to the storyâs villains than many of the other hero characters, and puts her in a unique place to both empathize and become motivated to change the flawed system that produced people like Shigaraki and the League in the first place.
5) Likewise, Urarakaâs background actually makes her more palatable to Shigaraki than other heroes. At least at the beginning of the comic, Uraraka isnât shy about admitting that one of her reasons for becoming a hero is to help her parents financially. Ochakoâs original motivation for heroism isnât portrayed as nobly as othersâ like Deku--Deku has no ulterior motives for being a hero; he just wants to save people and wouldnât care about personally benefiting.
Instead, Ochako is presented as someone who (initially) sees heroism as a means to an end. Itâs not that she doesnât want to save people, but that sheâs not doing so only for the intrinsic worth... the hefty paycheck that comes from heroism is a big draw.
Over time the manga has shown her shifting away from this (which actually makes her character less unique, unfortunately), but Iâm sure itâs still a thought for her, and sheâs definitely going to send paychecks to her parents in the future. At the end of the day, heroism is still going to be Urarakaâs ticket to a better lifestyle, even if sheâs committed herself to it honestly by the time she leaves U.A.
But itâs this exact form of personal motivation that Shigaraki is much more likely to understand than the âgoody-two-shoesâ motivations of people like Deku. Multiple times in the comic Shigaraki has expressed confusion with societyâs habit of clinging mindlessly to symbols, of their blind faith in the virtues of heroism, and their ability to simply overlook suffering because âsurely a hero will do something about it.â Stainâs ideals about âtrue heroesâ go straight past Shigaraki, who seems to hate heroes who are earnest (All Might, Iâm talking about All Might) far more than those who are simply faking their way through for fame.Â
Shigaraki understands humans who are driven by personal gain. He respects the individual desires of people he cares about. Someone in the hero industry explicitly seeking tangible benefits would likely, to Shigaraki at least, come across as more genuine than someone who claims they have no ulterior motives, and a person who is blunt about their needs and grounded in the reality of BNHAâs world would likely be much more acceptable to Tomura than someone who spews trite lines about peace and justice.
Shigarakiâs feelings for heroes have been irreparably damaged by his conditioning from All For One, but there are certainly some heroes that he would find less loathsome than others. He will probably never understand Dekuâs selflessness. All Mightâs saccharine symbolism actively infuriates him. But a person who became a hero to put food on the table? To provide for her parents (maybe especially because it is her parents sheâs trying to provide for)? Thatâs at least understandable. If the mangaâs future does see Shigaraki redeemed, my thought is that the only type of heroes weâll ever see him willingly interact with would still be heroes just like Ochako, with more âdown to earthâ personal motivations. Uraraka, your codename is âIf I had to date a heroâ...
6) While weâre talking about shared life experiences, thereâs another very obvious similarity between Shigaraki and Ochako: neither one of them can touch things with all five fingers.
Cute/fridge horror observation: Shigaraki is even daintier about touching things than Uraraka is; Uraraka usually lifts just her pinkies, but Shigaraki frequently uses as few fingers as possible.
Yeah, yeah, they both have to be dainty and careful with everything they hold. Itâd be cute to watch them eat together. They could mutually gripe about the annoyance of video game consoles not designed for four-finger use. More than that though, neither one of them can touch other human beings without the risk of causing death.
Uraraka, as a hero, has the more privileged quirk design (she can turn her quirk off, while Shigaraki canât) and until recently, the comic was always very careful to portray Urarakaâs quirk in a way that no one was endangered by it. But dropping Zero Gravity into the hands of a villain for a single chapter reveals the truth: Urarakaâs quirk has just as much lethal potential as Shigarakiâs.
Like Shigaraki, Uraraka has to face the reality that her touch alone could jeopardize the safety of anyone she comes into contact with, in her daily life and in her hero work. Drop some debris without looking twice? Just crushed a civilian. Release your quirk without thinking? Now the villain you floated is paste on the sidewalk. Thought that it was safe to float away the building? Oops, you crushed someone still trapped inside. Yikes. In a one-on-one battle, Uraraka is actually at a disadvantage not because her quirk is weak, but the dead opposite--in an outdoor fight, she would have to actively work not to accidentally send people off into outer space.
Having an auto-activate touch quirk means that both Shigaraki and Ochako have to be conscious of every single thing they touch all the time. Both of their quirks require constant bodily awareness, and both come with the lurking knowledge that âMy touch causes problems.â Even for Ochako, who would merely be a nuisance if she accidentally floated objects indoors, itâs easy to internalize frustration and negative associations with oneâs own body. Every day, Ochako has to be careful with herself in a way that few of her peers do, another factor that sets her apart.
One of the storyâs overarching themes is the idea of âself-acceptanceâ and what it even means to âaccept yourselfâ in a world where (almost) every human being possesses a distinguishing feature, often built into their bodies at the expense of standard human functioning. For people with limited control over their quirks, who canât choose when the effect activates, a quirk is a constant burden and facet of their identity that entirely re-shapes how they interact with the world. Both Shigaraki and Uraraka face the practicality of having burdensome, even lethal, auto-activate quirks that require constant self-awareness. This is a similarity that, of the major characters, only Shigaraki and Ochako possess so far. (Even other major characters with touch-based quirks like Overhaul appear to be able to choose when to activate their quirks).
The âfunnyâ way Shigaraki and Ochako hold things seems like just a small similarity until you remember the amount of practice and frustration it must have taken to internalize a four-fingered touch. Until you remember that this similarity marks them both as very careful and self-conscious characters. Until you remember that Shigarakiâs got a one-touch instakill... but so does Uraraka Ochako.
7) Okay, similarities are cool and all, but you know what they say: opposites attract. And if weâre talking character motivation, there are no cleaner opposites in the entire series. Shigaraki and Ochako are actually even better emotional foils than Shigaraki and Deku, because Ochakoâs central motivation is âMake as many people smile as possibleâ and Shigarakiâs is, literally, âMake it so no one can ever smile again.â
I know I ragged on it earlier, but now Iâm going to use it to my full advantage: as the story evolved and characters grew, Ochakoâs âtrueâ motivation to become a hero revealed itself: she feels a deep, intrinsic happiness when witnessing the happiness of others. Her desire as a hero is to spread relief, the sense of security that allows people to go about their days smiling. She literally feels happiest when everyone around her is happy.
Even more so than Deku, this casts Uraraka as Shigarakiâs diametric opposite in the story, because Shigarakiâs entire pipe dream goal also hinges on the smiles of others--and how absolutely much he hates them. Shigarakiâs goal is total world destruction because he just resents the happiness of others that fucking much.
On the surface alone itâs more fascinating than the story will probably ever live up to: Ochako, the heroine who wants to spread smiles; Shigaraki, the villain who wants to destroy them. Even if weâre just talking canon, zero romance involved, that would still be an interesting conflict to explore. The story could cover a lot of deeper ground by drawing the comparison between these two characters more directly. It would definitely validate Uraraka being involved in more major plot events, at the very least.
BUT this was supposed to be about shipping, so of course I canât leave it there, and leaving it there would only be half the story anyway, because nobody is born hating smiles. Everything weâve seen of Shigarakiâs past so far indicates that he was a kid with a cute dog, a warm relationship with his sister, and an interest in heroes--i.e., a decent life that probably included his own fair share of smiles. Shigarakiâs hatred and resentment are direct products of the traumatic manipulation he suffered at AFOâs hands. He despises the idea that people around him can smile and act upbeat, even when they objectively know villains are lurking all around them. He is actually sick to his stomach at the idea of people blindly putting their faith in heroes, knowing what he does: that heroes often fail, that there are many people who desperately need to be rescued and are instead overlooked. The world failed Shimura Tenko and then had the nerve to keep on smiling without him.
Other peopleâs smiles represent nothing but the joy, security, love, and peace that Shigaraki Tomura hasnât experienced since the day his quirk manifested. The sight of any living thing fills Shigaraki with rage because everything bright and beautiful, everything good and calm and kind and soft and warm, is everything that Shigaraki has lost and believes he will never, ever get to experience again.
Shigaraki doesnât really hate the pure happy smiles of others; he hates the fact that the world has taken away every single thing he ever had to smile about.
It is my belief that Horikoshi is hinting at a redemption arc for Shigaraki, especially as we see the League become closer allies. But Shigaraki canât be completely redeemed, canât be persuaded to give up his world-destruction plan, until he can look at the smiles of others without scorn. Until the bright, upbeat attitudes of heroes other people no longer feel like a personal attack. Until heâs happy enough that the happiness of others no longer hurts. Until the weight is lifted.
And I canât think of any character more obviously suited to helping lift an immense weight than Uraraka, the zero gravity hero who wants nothing more than to spread smiles.
8) Speaking of lifting weights... Kacchako is a popular ship stemming in large part from Bakugouâs refusal to treat Uraraka with kid gloves. He faces her head-on as a real opponent and views her like any other hero hopeful.
As Iâve said before, this is pretty much the most respectfully the series itself has ever treated Uraraka Ochako, and it caught a lot of attention because it was one of the rare occasions that a female pro hero-in-training was really treated as an equal to the male characters. Kacchako shippers had something awesome to work with.
But... You know who else treats women as equals? (Hell, you know who treats literally everyone as equals, from those with mutant quirks to trans people to those with severe mental health issues?) You can say what you want about Shigarakiâs habit of, you know, mass murder, but in terms of viewing others equally and respecting (okay, letâs be real, itâs probably closer to just ignoring) differences, Tomura is about as open-minded as BNHA characters come. The League is an equal opportunity employer.
Unlike actual hero characters, Shigaraki has never once suggested that Toga is incapable of keeping up with any of the male members of the League, and in fact has entrusted her with many of the Leagueâs most dangerous and crucial missions. He explicitly has faith in her ability and skill.
Togaâs right there in the fight against Gigantomachia and the QLA, as much an equal member of the League as anyone else. In terms of gender equality, the villains seem to be light-years ahead of their hero counterparts, and Shigaraki in particular doesnât discriminate, among his allies or his opponents either. Heâs not a âspare the women and childrenâ kind of guy; every hero and villain challenger is treated with equal violence (and equal snark), whether theyâre male, female, a long-time pro or a student in training.
In whatever context--canon opponent, AU ally, or a future romantic interest--Shigaraki would take Ochako just as seriously as Bakugou did. If you like Kacchako because Bakugou doesnât dismiss Uraraka, that same dynamic would be present in Shigako too.
9) And on the topic of Shigaraki and women... It doesnât feel accidental that every single female character who ever had love for Shigaraki has been taken away from him. A distinct part of Shigarakiâs storyline is that all positive female role models have been systematically removed from his life. He lost his grandmother, a hero he could have looked up to; he lost his mother, who he now has no memory of; he lost the older sister he clearly held dear... All For Oneâs control over Tomura has always been total, but this particular detail feels especially insidious: was All For Oneâs spite for Nana so strong that he delighted in deliberately destroying every single relationship Tenko had with women connected to Nanaâs legacy? (Or is AFO perhaps just a raging misogynist? Every single one of his known associates is male and he seemed to despise and mock Nana particularly hard...)
In any case, the point Iâm trying to make here is that, even ruling love interests out, Shigarakiâs storyline would be enriched by forging a meaningful connection with a female character like Ochako. Acceptance--maybe even some grudging admiration--for a female hero? A fantastic opportunity to show just how different the âvillainsâ are from the discriminatory society that produced them. Supporting friendship while heâs on the road to recovery? A+ way to diversify interactions between the male and female cast. Send a tough girl to Tartarus to question his motives? Nice chance for tense dialogue and some good old noire-esque foe yay. Hostage situation that takes a turn for the surprisingly cordial? Fun way to explore different dynamics and humanize the villains because hey, they treated the âdamselâ to dinner shortbread cookies. My god, Shigaraki could even develop some positive sense of rivalry with a woman, for example! The possibilities are endless if youâre actually willing to give female characters a shot!
Being more serious, Tomuraâs life has been dramatically marked by the loss of his female family members, and--at least from what we know so far--his entire youth was spent without the presence of reliable friendships, let alone any form of âloveâ that wasnât disturbingly fake. Beyond his fragmented memories, he has no models for healthy relationships, romantic or otherwise.
Letting Shigaraki develop to the point that he could form a mutually positive relationship with a female hero character would be extremely cathartic for me as a reader. I donât mean ârewarding redemption with a last-minute happy ending romanceâ--I mean actually getting the opportunity to watch Tomura rediscover what it means to be genuinely loved and realize he has the capacity to give love and be happy in return...
Reaching that level of mutual support and closeness--especially with a female pro hero--would be the biggest âFUCK YOUâ that Shigaraki could give to All For One, short of, you know, actually killing him.
Shigaraki Tomura has a critical (and deliberate) lack of healthy connections to women. BNHA, coincidentally, has a criminally under-utilized female lead just twiddling her thumbs over here, waiting for a meaningful plotline to be thrown her way.
Sure, putting AFO in prison is cool and all, but have you considered... crushing his pride and legacy of evil by helping the boy he tortured for years learn to love again? Iâm just sayinâ!
Uraraka Ochako, snatching Shigaraki right the fuck out of AFOâs hands:
10) Basically what the whole thing boils down to is this: Shigaraki Tomura needs a hero.
Donât mistake my meaning. A lot of âgirl meets bad boyâ plots end up amounting to âgirl becomes emotionally responsible for fixing bad boyâs issues,â and thatâs not what Iâm gunning for--Shigaraki has to redeem himself because redemption is only meaningful when it stems from the characterâs own inner desire to change; Iâm not quite rose-tinted enough to buy into the Love Redeems trope myself. Iâm definitely not advocating anyone dump Shigaraki Tomura as he is now into Uraraka Ochakoâs lap and expect her to turn him from a beast to a beauty. Itâs not an unrelated womanâs responsibility to fix a broken man.
But! From a readerâs perspective, I think we can agree: Shigarakiâs redemption cannot be complete until he learns to believe in real heroes. He doesnât have to like them. He doesnât have to support hero society. But he has to be able to look at real heroes like Izuku and Ochako and admit that they are doing whatâs right--that society is a better place because they are here. Shigarakiâs path to recovery canât even begin until heâs capable of at least acknowledging that the world has things worth saving in it.
If Horikoshi moves forward with a redemption arc for Shigaraki, it will probably be Deku who Detroit Smashes the message of truly noble heroes into Shigarakiâs head. Thatâs his job as the resident Warrior Therapist, I suppose. But you know... to me, it might be even more meaningful if Shigarakiâs hero--if the hand that reaches out to rescue him--isnât The Heroâsâą but just a heroâs. We all know Deku is selfless and good to the core. As All Mightâs perfect successor, he really has nothing to prove. Itâs everyone else who is in question. Itâs the whole rest of hero society that owes Shigaraki Tomura an explanation for the suffering of people like the Leagueâs members. Itâs everyone else who needs to prove they can do better--that in the future, there will be no bloody children left abandoned in back alleyways.
Uraraka Ochakoâs conviction is to save people. As a female hero who hasnât lived a privileged life, sheâs uniquely situated to think about those who are most often overlooked. In a world where violence begets violence, where only those with strength and flash excel, what a powerful message it would send for the terrifying antagonist to effectively be rescued by someone the story itself has called âa frail girl.â At the end of the day, heroics isnât supposed to be about mountain-destroying explosions and mach punches--heroics is supposed to be about heart, about reaching out a gentle helping hand, about spreading smiles to those who need them most.
Tomuraâs faith in heroes has been brutally stripped from him, and every part of his conflict is tied up intimately with his misdirected hatred: it wasnât actually heroes who isolated and hurt him--it was villains. In order to move forward, he will have to come to that horrible realization, deal with that means for himself and his place in the world, and recognize the truth: there are goodness and good people in the world. Selfless heroes, those who wouldnât turn their backs on a crying child, do exist. There are people, even now, who would extend a kind hand to Shigaraki Tomura and do their best to bring a real smile to his face. Because thatâs whatâs really going on, after all.
Shimura Tenko is still waiting to be saved.
And I know just the person to do it.

Crazy MLB Thoughts...
Or shit I would sort of want to see but after watching Seasons 2 and 3 doubt highly will happen nor do I trust the writers to be substantially confident in making a cohesive story that doesnât fall at the rails.
The fact that they seem to like making Miraculous Ladybug Episodic when it really should be a Serialize show, tells me all I need to know to NOT but much faith in what they do.Â
But Iâve been surprised before but...GREAT DOUBT (Iâm trying really hard not to tl:dfr the essay about my...gripes with MLB on a whole because writing that...weâll be here all day. ALL DAY)
anyways moving on;
1. Adrien and Felix are either step siblings or identical twins and someone lying about whoâs the real baby daddy/baby momma and both sisters are in on it.Â
2. Both sisters are in on EVERYTHING...and prob share everything and Gabe is none the wiser. Donât make that face at me fam, Yaâll come up with very interesting poly ships...DONâT @ ME! XD
Look at their fucking Maiden Name; without some translation; Vanily? If that shit donât sound too damn close to Villain IDKWTF does! XD
But seriously, the name has various meanings which all boil down to, deceit and moral ambiguity. I donât put nothing passed nobody.
I seen what the animators were doing; trying to paint Amelie in Black while Emilie is dressed in White. See, that symbolism of trying to make me think Amelie is a bad twin to Emilieâs good twin because of how Gabe sees her. But I like to think the reality is more of the opposite if...IF Emilieâs really a big bad.Â
3a. Emilie is more antagonistic than Gabriel but actually loves her son and husband.
3b. Emilie could also just be full calculating evil and all of Adrienâs âmemoriesâ of his loving mother could be of his Aunt Amelie instead...
4. The whole ass episode of Felix had me like: I watched one too many damn K-Dramas to know that anytime rich families act like this around each other; it usually involves birth secrets and the fact that someone was getting it on with the âwrongâ somebody...or the right somebody.Â
Look, all Iâm saying is, Gabe is def the father and most likely the father of Felix but Adrien could...maybe...actually...be...Amelieâs kid for some unfounded reason and no oneâs saying anything about it. (no way in the 7 HELLS do cousins look identical like that unless the creators just felt spiteful for some reason and rehashed a scraped character design...)
Donât look at me like that Fam! I cannot be the only one who thought there were a lot of secrets not being shared/said in this episode! If yaâll can theorized about Sentimonsters, I can theorized about Agreste/Graham de Vanily family drama.Â
5. Audrey and Tomoe might have a bitter rivalry/partnership/something with Emilie and Gabriel. I feel like something happened for Tomoe to be all;Â âI donât need friends, theyâre a disappointmentâ.Â
6. Fam! Yaâll have got to chill with the âCharacter X is a Sentimonster theoriesâ, come on thatâs weak writing fam. FAM weâre better than this!
7. Marinette will finally get to tone down on her crush/obsession for Adrien WITHOUT having to be with *coughusecough* Luka.
8. Adrien as Chat Noir will finally get to tone down on his crush/obsession for Ladybug WITHOUT having to with *coughusecough* Kagami because she vaguely makes him think about Ladybug....Yea I said it.Â
I believe Adrien only tries to move on with Kagami because sheâs the closest thing that reminds him of his Idealistic view of Ladybug and not really for Kagami herself. which isnât fair to Kagami...jfc I said I was NOT going to tl:dfr this post....ahh too fucking late now!
Sure, Adrien admires her but I donât think he really truly likes the girl in that way. Out of Order Episodes or not, that boy canât go 5 mins without going nuts over his precious MâLady. XD
9. I just rather there NOT be this extra baggage of a love triangle and I just would like for ONCE to get through a season without feeling 2nd hand embarrassment over the cringy shit Marinette does to get Adrienâs attention.
Before you try to go ham on me LadyNoir/Adrinette/Marichat/Ladrien (GODDAMN THIS FUCKING OTP) shippers hear me out: I am not saying I donât want the love square..THE ORIGINAL LOVE SQUARE OF really two loves in like/lust/future love unknowingly with each other to end.
I WILL FUCKING GO DOWN TO THE DEPTHS OF HELL FOR THIS SHIP!
But I do want less cringe, thereâs so much I can take of Marinette learns not to be petty and seems to grow up a bit for the NEXT damn episode to reset like that shit didnât happen....boi..iâm about to rant about the writing...
10. EPISODES WILL NOT BE SHOWN OUT OF ORDER!!
11. EPISODES WILL NOT BE SHOWN OUT OF ORDER!!
12. Season 4 will be consistent with itâs plot driven story and continuity...we can only pray.
13. When old Gabby Moth gets redeemed (not if but when...hey iâm trying to be marginally realistic here) the story for it, isnât weak asf and doesnât feel forced. Even though its going to feel forced...unless Emilie really does turn out to be that bad bitch and shows she cares more for power over her family and dismisses Gabriel...only for him to wisen up that his wife really isnât a saint and realize too late that Nathalie was always there for him...FUCK I just made myself sad..Iâm sad....
14. Astruc is really being a troll and Chloe actually gets a redemption...maybe too much to ask for?
15. Meanwhile Lila FUCKING Rossi can eat ass I donât like that hoe.Â
16a. Marinette will not try to carry the huge/sudden burden of being the guardian...(yea..THANKS FU FOR THAT BTW...*coughshitguardianmentormotherfuc...coughs*) ah Mari will not try to carry this heavy ass burden on her lonesome and actually lets those she chooses to give Miraculous too, KEEP THEM THIS TIME...ya know..so itâs more convenient for them to help her and Chat Noir when they need assistance. While she maybe the Guardian, she will allow Chat Noir to share her burden with her.Â
16b. Chat Noir will play more of an equal role alongside Ladybug and not be kept in the dark. ISTG RN; if Mari, after telling Fu she doesnât want to keep anything from the guy that is supposed to be her number 1 partner...in the fucking dark...this whole ass website is going to feel my wrath for days on in.Â
no more of this âpushing Chat Noir to the sidelines and keeping him in the darkâ more than Hawkmoth trying to use their trust for each other against them, distrust and lies is the fastest way for him or some other big bad to win.
Also I just REALLY want the gang to keep their miraculous.Â
17. Probably going to get flack for this but I really want to see Chloe/Luka happen or at least some form of interaction between them.Â
I donât mind the Lukagami Ship but it rly feels like a forced pair the spares to sideline them away from Adrienette and I rly canât see it. I mean I can but I think Chloe/Luka would make for something more interesting.Â
18. Felix NOT becoming a big bad, because wow do we really need ALL of Adrienâs fam being coo-coo for coca puffs?? especially if Emilie is as worse than her husbandÂ
19 the other side characters get to actually develop.
20...Was there something else??? Probably but Iâm tired and canât think outside of really wanting a kind and just Emilie Fucking Agreste and also wanting the Bitch Mother of all mothers from hell Emilie FUCKING Agreste, while also wanting a lil of both.
And now unable to decide WHICH Emilie Fucking Agreste to write about in my two AUs because where at first i wanted sweet innocent Emilie fucking Agreste, now I want cunning, ambitious gets what she wants behind a sweet demeanor, youâll never see her striking, Emilie Fucking Agreste!
While good!Emilie Agreste would be simple and easy to write for...my mind is going; palace politics is just so much better when everyone is backstabbing everyone! Just like historical dramas! only not everyone dies! XD
