something I always think about is these fuckers right here.

These are the Whispers you fight at the end of FF7 Remake. Everybody knows them. And if you've done any amount of browsing on FF7 lore, you might've seen that their fighting styles are based on the Remnants of Sephiroth.

But what people often fail to catch is that these three aren't just based on the remnants, they ARE the remnants.

Each of the whispers have a description that says something along the lines of "It fights to protect the future that gave it shape." And we all know that the whole fight with the whisper harbinger is about the Planet trying to keep fate on it's course.

So these three whispers are the Remnants themselves, fighting desperately to keep the timeline on track so that there's still a future where they exist. They want to live. The Lifestream chose them to fight for the Harbinger because of it.

And the way they fight shows that they still have some kind of conscience/memory from their past lives. Viridi (Loz) targets Tifa and Rubrum (Kadaj) targets Cloud. When you fight Viridi and Croceo (Yazoo) as a duo and one of them dies, the other immediately becomes Enraged and more aggressive.

They are alive, even if they're not their whole selves. And that fucking destroys me.

"Time Traveler Cloud" this "Time Traveler Genesis" that. why no Not Time Traveller Sephiroth

Depending on the scenario he's either lost™ or the smartest man in the room at all times. Either way, Cloud is very confused as to why Sephiroth is always RIGHT THERE.

*Cloud walks past Sephiroth*

Sephiroth: Oh, you poor thing.

Cloud:

Sephiroth: What I mean to say is, I do not intend to summon a meteor to obliterate the planet.

Cloud:

Sephiroth: I mean, I definitely won't burn down your hometown.

Sephiroth: What I'm trying to say is, I intend to treat your mother well this time.

Lazard is so tired. Genesis just burned down half the building out of frustration because he smudged 'the perfect eyeliner' and Lazard 'would never understand'.

Angeal has started placing plants around the building 'for a better environment'. At first Lazard was very happy, a bit of greenery wouldn't hurt. But now certain corridors are straight up jungles and at least one person has been bitten by some kind of carnivorous plant. He is not happy about the greenery anymore.

Someone (probably Genesis) has gotten Sephiroth a plush with catnip. So for the last day a very high Sephiroth has been lounging around on various surfaces and any attempt to remove the plush is met with hissing.

Zack has started an exercise course, that devastatingly involves parkouring trough the building. At least 10 people have vaulted Lazards desk today.

And for some reason some random infantry man is always in the room, even for confidential meetings. When Lazard tried to remove him, Angeal told him that 'Cloud is Zacks emotional support introvert'. Lazard has accepted Cloud.
