Next chapter is up! This will be split into two separate chapters as it ended up being longer than I originally imagined.

Catelyn Stark, the recently departed Stark matriarch, had a funny way of screwing her daughter's life beyond the grave. When Arya learns of the small fortune to be inherited, she believes she'll finally be able to live the life she wants. Unfortunately, there is one tiny stipulation...she has to get married before her 35th birthday.

Robert Baratheon left his son with a terrible outlook on life and a debt he'll never be able to repay. After Gendy is denied a loan by another bank, he is desperate enough to ask his best friend for the money.

The proposition is simple enough.

Jon will give Gendry half the money upfront if he agrees to marry Arya by Christmas. He'll get the other half if he manages to stay married to her for a year.

What is a year in comparison to having all your dreams come true?

Day 6: 5 year skip proceeds au

They elope in the night, fleeing into the darkness, into the forest, guided by the incessant howling of the wolves. 

It was an impulsive decision made out of fear of marching north, home, only to be separated again by stupid lords and their stupid games.

They take their oaths in the freezing air of a misty morning, under a big oak. The trees around them and the embers of the fire are their witnesses

They are not dressed in embroidered cloaks, but in tattered war banners and golden leaves. There are no wreaths of winter roses, wildflowers will do.

There is no silk gown to slip off, just old boots, rusty chain mail stolen from a corpse. There is no featherbed, deep and soft, just the grass crisp with frost.

So sorry that I wanted two characters that have been through trauma and loneliness to find happiness and love in the comfort that they have with each other. What a silly goose I was hoping for that

My favourite kind of Gendrya fic is either a reunion or post-reunion fic or a relationship reveal fic of any kind where Gendry and Arya obviously seem to know each other and Jon is just stood there watching them like:

I know Ned was stressed as hell seeing his daughter, who resembles Lyanna physically and in attitude, become friends with Robert’s bastard son and Edric Dayne aka mister pale blonde hair and purple eyes. Like that man was about to die again from a heart attack, hands shaking as he pulled at his hair, thinking to himself “no, gods, no. Not this again. No one give my girl a flower please”
