About 5% of the population has soulmate marks on some area of their body. It's considered a faux pas to not pursue its meaning, if and when one appears.

As with all things, though, people find loopholes.

For all public events, Adrien has the Tsurugi crest painted on the back of his neck—Kagami, in turn, is marked with the Gabriel logo on hers. It's darkly funny, Adrien considers, that the two of them are branded so explicitly. He wonders if tagging their ears would be any less subtle.

The real mark is one that he keeps constantly hidden. On the inside of his left wrist is a patch he might be able to pass off as a bruise to those far enough away: A red, circular splotch, dotted with a quincunx. Whoever Ladybug might be, Adrien can reasonably assume she carried a catlike mark of some sort—Some purplish black welt with pointed ears or the rough shape of a paw.

Likewise, Adrien assumes she hates hers much as he has grown to hate his. The vitriol was infectious, really. He's never been able to look at it the same way since, the way its irregular edges bleed into his skin and the veins pop out from underneath its discoloring.

It's nothing like the fake marks people love to slap onto themselves, with their clean lines and perfect sheen. Gabriel logos are common, in paints or tattoos—The creative ones, naturally, decide to choose an "A.A." thinking they know some secret. As if the psuedoscience of soulmate forgery is something they can game. The most committed, he hears, hide their attempts to brand themselves with their devotion to Adrien Agreste. It makes it seem all the more real, supposedly.

Nevertheless, Adrien feels pretending to be of the falsely-dwindling 95% is stolen valor.

Adrien x Kagami is healthier than Adrien x Marinette. Adrien and Kagami slowly fall for each other and slowly learn how it is to be in a relationship. it's not forced, it's developing like a real relationship. Marinette on the other hand. Well, she's a stalker. She knows his schedule for the next 10 years, she planed birthday gifts up until he's 50, and trys to follow him everywhere.

Kagami is in love with Adrien. Marinette is in love with the idea of Adrien.

If the writers of seasons 4 and 5 didn't do the forced adrigami break up to please the adrinette fans, it would've shown proper growth and developement for the characters
