My first "official" toy-haul for 2024 got here a few days ago, but I was too busy trying to prepare my Sessho's head sculpt for repainting him, that I kind of forgot to resize these photos. DX Also, shipping... that was so ridiculous! For no reason!

Also got an Eren Yeager Final Season Hugcot mini figure, which I am very happy with. All these figs I am super glad I got. The FFVII keychains, the Sasuke stuff. The Byakuya look up figure is adorable! The only thing I am pissed with, is the freaking extra-mega-large shipping box. For absolutely no reason whatsoever! *sigh* There went over $100USD thrown down the drain, for literal no reason. I'm super angry at that, I probably won't recover from it soon enough in a literally sense, and monetarily.

We see this in real life too - men are often angry because in patriarchal/toxic masculine culture, anger and aggression are really the only socially acceptable emotions for a man to express.

Also, we don't see much of Byakuya's grandfather Ginrei, but what we do see, he looks like a very stern and severe figure, likely unforgiving of mistakes. Given that he would have been B's primary authority figure after his parents died, it's highly likely B was brought up to exert rigid control over his emotions and not allowed to develop much of his own interests or his own independent personality outside of the expectations upon him to become captain of the 6th and leader of the clan.

So of course he's unbalanced and has a tendency towards enmeshment when he finally allows himself to feel -- he has no history or practice with how to express himself emotionally in a healthy way or how to deal with relationships without becoming overly possessive.

my read on byakuya is that he receives little joy from his social position and feels confined by the expectations of his status but endures the responsibilities because he's accepted his fate. his stoicism didn't come naturally, wearing it more like a mask, while his true emotions get shoved down deep and anger is the one most likely to surface. his fatal flaw is his selfishness. rukia's execution is all about how it makes him feel. ("when you were condemned I didn't know what to do. honor the oath I made to my parents or the promise I made to hisana"). he's accepted rukia as his sister but his love for her is expressed as an extension of himself ("you pointed your blade at my pride"). the losses faced during the invasion are his fault ("I could not take out those you trampled all over the seireitei. I led many officers to their deaths. I brought sorrow to their families"). he does genuinely enjoy fighting and finds satisfaction in proving his superiority as a swordsman.

Kuchiki Byakuya: taking care of him

Byakuya rarely got sick or injured enough to require medical attention.

Even as a child, he used to have a strong body and those few times he was overtaken by sickness, he was always fussed over by the clan medics. As the heir to the clan, there was not a moment of peace and quiet until he got better. He detested those moments, especially when he had a fever or a migraine and people would not leave him alone.

It got better with time, because once he had gotten stronger, there were less incidents that left him injured and through rigorous training, he hardly ever caught any illness.

But his duties as a captain had sometimes put Byakuya in situations that ended up with injuries that even he couldn't downplay.

A lot of those situations also involved Ichigo and his friends - and therefore also you.

The first time you took care of him happened after a terrible fight that had left him barely standing. Byakuya knew that once the fight was over, it wouldn't take long for the support and healing squad to get there, so he was fine with just closing his eyes a little and waiting. Fussing around wouldn't make him bleed any less.

What he didn't expect was for you to just walk over and start bandaging his worst wounds with the few scraps of fabric you had. You didn't have a reason to do it, no obligation or debt of gratitude to him. You didn't even small talk. 

It made him warm somewhere deep down in his chest.

There were many instances when despite him trying his best, Byakuya had to be helped off the battlefield once everything was over. He had become almost used to the way you wrapped your arm around his midriff and heaved him over your shoulder to half drag, half walk him somewhere safer. 

It felt almost comforting. 

Byakuya never sent you off once he was taken by his clan medics. Or rather, the few times he tried, you ignored him anyway or just broke back into his mansion to check on him a few hours later. 

Despite everything, he enjoyed your presence. He appreciated not being treated like he was made out of glass, which is something the clan medics had a tendency of. He knew his limits and often didn't agree with their suggestions.

The strange thing was, Byakuya was way more likely to listen to the same advice coming from your lips. It's possible that the mystery had something to do with the delivery. 

Ignoring the ancient, almost blind clan medics was relatively easy, especially since he's known them for hundreds of years and was the head of the whole clan. His word was always final and there was no one else commanding the clan.

On the other hand, hearing from you, a person he's reluctantly come to terms with calling a friend, to lay his ass back down on the bed or you'd sit on him, had a certain effect.

The effect was making him too stunned to argue and then unable to with another wet towel slapped on his face to fight the fever. 

Sometimes, the best methods were simple ones.

Byakuya wasn't sure why he couldn't get angry at that kind of treatment from you. It might've had something to do with how different it was from what he was used to and bored with for so long. 

Or maybe it was because despite you being rough with him sometimes, you still stayed quietly by his side when he was feverish and could barely figure out what was happening. He dozed off, his dreams chaotic and messy, but he could still feel your hand in his anchoring him to reality. 

Byakuya was grateful for the rest he was able to get because of you. Both because there was someone he trusted quietly watching over him, and because you were ready to throw hands with anyone else wanting to disturb him. 

You could've sworn that once you've caught Byakuya smiling right after you were done throwing a clan medic out and telling him, in detail, how necessary a temperature check every 10 minutes was in your opinion. You might've been holding a sword at the time.

it's kinda sad but sometimes I wonder if Renji has ever felt jealous of Hisana.

I'm 100% sure that he understands that Byakuya had a life before him, a wife that he loved to be precise.

I'm also 100% sure that most of the time he's fine with that, he's not crazy and doesn't make scene when Byakuya thinks about her (because of course he does, in some occasions).

I just feel like Renji knows that Byakuya will never stop lover her, in some ways, and sometimes he feels so insecure to avoid him. To avoid his touch, his presence. (or to try and act like her)

I imagine him, with Byakuya's scarf in his hand, crying and blaming himself for his stupidity because he knows that this doesn't make sense. He shouldn't compare himself to her, he shouldn't feel like this.

But he does and a little part of him hate himself for doing such a thing.

Now, I imagine Byakuya watching him silently because he's not stupid. He knows Renji, he can read through him.

And I also know that he's not one for sappy or cheesy things but for him, for Renji, he would kiss all his insecurities away.

He would whispers lovely thing while making love to him or just holding him close.

My November 2023 toy haul got here yesterday. I am supper upset, that I didn't request to have these items shipped in a smaller box posible. Because I know I could have saved at least 30USD, had they shipped them in a smaller box!! Fault's on me! DX Despite the box being more massive than it needed to be, they still manage to ruin my Byakuya's SHFiguarts' box, which I am pretty much more irked about, then the actual fact they could have sent everything in a much smaller box. There was absolutely no excuse for anything getting damaged, in such a huge box, more so when the shipper has zero damage. >__<;;

Kuchiki Byakuya headcanons: stress.

Fandom: Bleach

Byakuya rarely allows anything to get to him enough to stress him out. He prides himself as a composed person and doesn't let much of what he's feeling show.

That doesn't mean he lives a stress-free life. Byakuya is frequently bombarded by all sorts of issues from his squad and from the noble families. As the head of the clan and a squad captain, he has to deal with a lot of people and their problems on a daily basis.

That sometimes leads to days when Byakuya feels overworked and can't pull his mind away from the issues he knows he'll have to deal with on the next day.

He wouldn't pull an all-nighter, but would get very close to it, choosing to allow himself a brief few hours of rest before waking up horrendously early in the morning.

Those are the days that he knows he's not giving his s/o enough attention and love and feels deep guilt because of that. He'd be very open about the mountain of work he has to deal with, and would apologize in advance for secluding himself from everyone for as long as it takes to finish it up.

Byakuya prefers to finish his work as soon as he can. He despises putting things to a later date, because he's aware of how quickly it can pile up if something unexpected happens and adds to it.

Those are the days when he really appreciates his s/o's patience. He is painfully aware of how exhausting a relationship with him can get, and appreciates all of his s/o's efforts to get through that.

Even though his mind might be focused on his work, he'd still think of you.

He'd welcome you in his office whenever you chose to check up on him and see if he needed anything or to remind him that time actually passes and he has to take care of himself too from time to time.

If you bring him tea, he'll make sure to drink it to the last drop.

The memory of the soft squeeze of his shoulders you made as you headed to leave would stay in his mind.

Once he was done with everything, Byakuya would make sure to show his gratitude in whatever way you wanted. It's difficult for him to have time for himself, but he'd make sure to balance things out as much as he can.
